B&B Palazzo Belli

Palazzo Belli was a lovely place to stay in Lecce, right across from the church of Sant'Irene. Everything in the Centro Storico was walkable, and the train station about a 20-30 min walk, depending on how much luggage you have to haul. The area is car-free, so i do not know what you would do with a car. The owner, Mauro was lovely and lives next door. The B and B has 4 rooms and was quiet unless you opened the balcony doors facing the main street. My room was so enormous i almost got lost in it. It had a grand piano and 2 balconies! Great room for a family of 4. Breakfast can either be in your room or at the bar down the street. I chose to go to the bar, because eating alone in my room did not appeal to me. I would definitely go back and stay at Palazzo Belli again. Ciao, Cristina

We stayed here and could not believe the size of our room. It extended to 33 square meters and had even a grand piano in it which seemed lost in the vastness of the space. You do really feel you are staying in a completely different location and in part of a beautiful Italian Palazzo. The location is superb in the middle of the main street in Lecce, within a stone throw of el Duomo. The owner Mauro was super accommodating, helping us with parking, walking us to the Palazzo and finding everything we needed to make our stay incredible, including where to dance salsa at night! The breakfast was a choice of either having it in the B&B or going to a coffee shop nearby. We chose the coffee shop which gave us total flexibility and a very nice breakfast. ||||Stay here for a truly unique experience in the centre of Lecce. Note if you arrive by car that you are best to head for Viale dell'Universita where you can park next to the market place and head for the hotel by walking via Giuseppe Libertine as the B&B is inside the restricted old city, difficult to navigate by car. Or call Mauro and he will help you with all of that as he is very helpful indeed! Great place highly recommended.

This is a lovely place to stay in Lecce. Mauro, our host, met us where we parked our car and walked us to our spacious apartments which were in a separate building a short walk away from the main Pallazo Belli near the Duomo. He gave us three recommendations for dinner and told us he'd return in the morning at 8:30 with fresh pastry for breakfast!||The beds were great and we slept soundly because it was so quiet! It was too cool to enjoy our rooftop terrace, but it was beautiful. We could walk everywhere from this location. The only downside was that the Internet did not work. We would still return to Palazzo Belli to enjoy Lecce again.

Amazed when we entered our room, as it was very large and even had a piano. Mauro is a friendly and welcoming host who will go out of his way to make your stay memorable. Breakfast is brought to the room, or you can take it at a nearby cafe. Good selection, including local delicacies. Not sure how many rooms are available here but be aware that it can be very noisy as the B&B is on one of main pedestrian streets for the evening 'passeggiata'. Having said this, I would recommend and I would return. Great spot from which to explore Lecce.

Things didn’t start off too well as I received a message on the day of my arrival saying that as renovation work was not complete on Palazzo Belli I had been moved to Palazzo Salia. A little late to inform me but not a real problem. My room was large and clean and my hosts extremely friendly. My new Palazzo was only a few minutes walk from the centre. The only slight niggle was the extreme noise from a group of youths in the adjoining building. If you do stay try not to stay on a Friday night! Other than that I would have no hesitation visiting again. Oh, the walnut cake was delicious!

This is a really unique place in the very centre of Lecce, though there's a couple of things to know. The place is upstairs in a grand building in the centre of Lecce - with huge rooms (ours had a grand piano and two balconies!). Very atmospheric. The location could not be better and there are shutters on the windows to block out the noise from the busy street below. We were driving and the owner did suggest two streets to park on - didn't fancy that so parked up at a car park near the Port Napoli, which cost 10 euros for the night, didn't require going down any narrow difficult roads and seemed pretty safe (parked there two nights and saw families staying with campervans) - a ten minute walk to the B&B. When you arrive you may need to call the number of the place to let them know you've arrived - we tried the bell with no answer so were only let in when we rang the number. The owner was very friendly and spoke some English - enough for us to make do. Really reasonable rates and was a very memorable place to be based. We loved Lecce and would recommend to anyone.

This amazing B&B has at its heart the owner, Mauro, who delights travellers with his warmth, his typically Italian Palazzo rooms and wonderful breakfasts.||||Every day I ate my breakfast - served in the room or choice to go to a bar - on my balcony overlooking the street next to the church. Always something to see - in the day and in the evening - people strolling, laughing, and cycling past. Such a wonderful atmosphere. ||||At night the a/c was very effective, the bed very comfortable and after a hot shower, always plentiful water, I slept like a baby. Closing the windows and wooden doors out to the balcony ensured peace.||||Lecce is beautiful - I travelled to Gallipoli by train for a swim in the azure sea and a lovely lunch with vino.||||Yes, there are some little bits of plaster missing and paint - so if this matters to you ....||||I loved my little piece of heaven and as a solo female traveller I appreciated the safety, warmth and comfort of Palazzo Belli!

Although it was not quite what we were expecting, it turned our rather well. We were in a self contained apartment round the block from Corso Vittorio Emanuele. We had a kitchen/diner, bathroom, bedroom, and roof terrace. Over about 3 levels so quite a lot of stairs. All very clean modern and stylish. The owner, Mauro, laid on ground coffee, tea and tray of biscuits and cakes. But also brought us fresh pastries and rolls at 8.30 each morning. First morning we did also had coffee and a cake round in the Cafe Lupo, paid for by Mauro. Mauro's english was better than our italian, but he is not a fluent english speaker. Wifi was a Vodaphone dongle, which had to be placed near a window for it to work. Took me while to figure that out. And the air-con worked, but again it took me a while to figure out the controls. Mauro also held our bags for us after check out on the last day, while we hung around town waiting for our evening flight home. We had a great time and Mauro is a good bloke, but if you are picky you might want to confirm which of his various rooms you will be accommodated in.
