B&B Scacciapensieri

We highly recommend this superb b&b for so many reasons. First of all the exceptional friendliness of the hosts Valentina and Antonio who have welcomed us in their home and made us feel immediately at ease. They gave us all sort of precious recommendation to enjoy the best restaurants, the most secluded beach, the best gelato and granita of the area, the best boutiques. Secondly the relaxing vibe of the entire place overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare with plenty of shade and cool hammocks for the perfect Mediterranean siesta experience. Thirdly the strategic location of the place just 30 minutes away from Palermo airport and in close proximity to many touristic attractions. We loved the spacious rooms, the big breakfast table, "tavolo dell'amicizia",sharing with other guests experiences of the holidays over delicious pane cunzato and cakes. To conclude a real gem 💎 within Sicily at exceptional value for money. We will certainly come back as soon as possible 😉, we are in love with this place !

This is the second time we’ve stayed here and to be honest there’s nowhere else we would rather go. It’s a quiet, peaceful retreat yet all is within a few minutes drive of Castellamare (beach and town). To be honest I’ve found that you switch off so much, it’s hard to drag yourself in to the shower and into town! Valentina, Antonio and Nelly are great hosts, everything is geared toward making sure you’re taken care of. The rooms are quaintly different, cosy and quiet and the pool is never more than a few steps away. I recommend asking about the Zingaro sailing trip, it’s simply the best way to visit the tiny beaches and coves along the reserve....and for going swimming into caves!!! All heartily recommended!!

Visited this sweet and beautiful area last week. We had a warm welcome and a totally freedom at the small resort. The rooms are comfortable. The home made bakery for breakfast is amazing. I like the communication breakfast table, where all the guest sits together.||You enjoy your first coffee with a beautiful sea view...what else you need for holiday. The area is surrounded with many places that you enjoy day and night. Castellamare del Golfo is 5 minutes by care, where you can find a lot of great restaurant. The beach is 2 minutes with a car. Chose Lido Pirata, they have a great food for lunch.

Having read the previous review (in Italian..) I was somewhat surprised to find that this was the same place I would son visit! Sadly I can only conclude that the previous guest must have had a request for a discount or a service refused as there was, as far as I could see no reason for any negative reviews for this property. As you can see I've traveled al over the world and stayed in every class of hotel but this is one of those special ones you rarely find! It's a small,charming and extremely friendly establishment with an eye for detail, no two rooms are the same and families are genuinely welcomed. It is a short drive from the centre of Castellamare and far enough to be incredibly quiet! You can easily pass the day by the pristine pool or laze in a hammock and watch the sunset, it's that calm. I'll return next year!

the house, location and views are hard to beat, we loved our stay here. to improve, i would reccomend cleaning ourdoor furniture, adding shutters or blinds to all bedroom windows and fixing all toilets. this is nitpicking though i would thoroughly reccomend this b&b to anyone who wants a relaxing holiday in a large group

I loved this place, the place is arranged in medditaranean style, there is a kitchen for all guests when you can make tea, coffe ora prepere some food, in the mornig a delicious breakfast is served. Our room was small but had everything we needed, wifi connection was very good and there is a lot of place in the garden where you can seat and relax. We had some problems with finding this place (our GPS couldn't find this street) but in fact it is quite close to the main road from Palermo (you can see the place on the right side, some 2-3 km before Castellamare).

We stayed at the Scacciapensieri for 5 days and the place is great. Very cozy and relaxing, it can be hard to find the place even with a GPS but if you call Antonio (what we did) you won't have any problem. It's very well located if you want to visit the north west coast of Sicily and also the riserva dello zingaro. ||Antonio also cooked for us and the food was very good, even better than a restaurant ! ||The only negative point for us or at least to improve would be the mattress in the purple bedroom. ||We may go there again as we know that it's a great place!

wlecomed with the fire burning in the fireplace in the external living room - after a long drive from south of Sicily - unforgetable! really cute place consisting of innovativelly renewed houses (farmhouses?) in a quiet rural area close to Castellammare; sitting areas, hammocks and a playground for children - all in a relaxing garden with nice views towards the sea; another surprise in the morning - beside already great selection of food and drinks for the breakfast, we have been served a freshly baked cake (baked by the lady preparing the breakfast)! ||we stayed only one night... everything great... the only thing that will need an improvement - while letting the watter running (waiting to get warm watter to have a shower) the shower area filled with the water - so needed to wait the slow sewage to use the shower without flodding the bathroom (colleague in another room reported similar problem)
