B&B @ The Redwoods

We had a short stay in Rotorua but were very fortunate to stay with Vivien. Vivien is an exceptional host. Full of information on what to do in the area. She even called ahead and booked us a reservation at Te Puia, the local Maori educational center. It was an amazing addition to our trip. Vivien is an engaging host. Pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The location was also perfect for our trips to Hobbiton and Te Pā Tū. A belated thank you, Vivien, for making our stay in the North Island a little more special.

A wonderful place to stay in Rotorua! The accommodations are comfy and the host, Vivian is one of a kind! She is a bevy of information and can help you decide what sights to see, where to shop, and eat, plus she's super friendly and you can tell how much she loves hosting vacationers. The breakfast is great and it is so fun to eat with the other guests. I'd totally stay there again.

Having stayed in hundreds of B&Bs in our years of travel this was honestly one of the best! Very well appointed rooms with great attention to detail, cleanliness, and provision of toiletries. They even have 2 luggage racks in the rooms (a pet peeve of mine), reading lights and plugs on both bedside tables. The private veranda for 2 of the rooms were lovely. The hostess knows everyone in town (it seemed) and can set you up with tickets and recommendations for anything. Would definitely stay here again!

We were so friendly welcomed by Vivien and felt at once at home. Vivien immediatley asked us whether we already had any plans in Rotorua and she gave us different ideas, what we could do. We were given „express line“ entry tickets at a reduced price to the Redwoods nightwalk. That was just great, as it turned out that the waiting line was huge. |Vivien also organised us entry tickets to „Te Puia“. Many thanks for everything you‘ve done for us. Thanks also for the interesting conversations at the breakfast table and the delicious food.

Staying here was the best decision! The Redwoods were our favorite part of Rotorua, and this place is just a 2-minute drive away. Vivien’s warm hospitality made us feel so welcome, and the cozy room gave us the perfect rest. Her breakfast was fantastic, and her local recommendations were spot on (even better than ChatGPT’s!). If you’re coming to Rotorua, I highly recommend staying here.

Vivien was a fantastic host with lots of suggestions of places to see and where to eat. The location of her B&B right near the Redwoods was so handy. Vivien couldn’t do enough for us and we enjoyed our chats at breakfast and on arrival. A very homely place to stay for 2 nights, thanks Vivien for hosting us.

Vivien was a great host. Pleasant, private room and communal areas. Around the corner from the tree walk and mountain bike tracks. Highly recommended.

We loved our stay at the B&B @ The Redwoods. Vivien is such a lovely host. Upon arrival, she greeted us and gave us a tour of her inlaw suite downstairs. We had the whole downstairs to ourselves, and it was more than enough room for the two of us. Our bedroom was very cozy, nicely decorated, ensuite included, and the bed was very comfortable. I passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow. She also has a lovely living/dining space downstairs, where we enjoyed tea, coffee, and a variety of delicious New Zealand fruits. Our breakfast was also a superb layout complete with eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, yogurt, and of course more kiwi and other local fruits! Thank you, Vivien, for introducing us to feijoas!!! We were looking for them everywhere we went after our stay with you. Vivien was also super helpful when we were trying to decide what to do during our stay in Rotorua. She made some great suggestions based on what we wanted to experience, gave us some coupons (score!), helped us plan out our itinerary, and even directed us to an amazing Chinese restaurant for dinner that specialized in amazing authentic hand-pulled noodles (which I was also obsessed with). YUM!!! I can't imagine our trip in Rotorua to have been any better, and it's largely thanks to our wonderful host who took great care of us. Highly recommended!

Vivian has a great facility and truly takes care of all the details, from confirmation of booking via e-mail to sitting down with us on arrival with afternoon tea and welcome recommendations about must-see local sites and eateries. Her rooms were spacious and well appointed for a couple and baggage. The rooms are en suite which makes life very comfortable. Breakfast was a treat as it was a la carte and on our schedule. A superb stay in Rotorua!
