B&B Villa Belverde

This is an update on my previous review, where I rated this hotel 9.8/10 for its beautiful property, exceptional hospitality, and professionalism in handling feedback. Located in the quiet town of Carrara, it’s an ideal base for hikers exploring Cinque Terre National Park and the Apuan Alps. Among the many B&Bs I’ve stayed at, this one stands out for its stunning gardens, featuring mature fruit trees, evergreens, and unique sculptures and tastefully designed and decorated suite rooms. My room was bright, cozy, and included a lovely balcony—perfect for relaxing indoors or in the garden. The hosts were warm and attentive. I would like to have a special thanks to the husband, who quickly troubleshot my rental car issue when an auto shop failed to do so. What truly impressed me was how they handled my feedback. As a solo hiker, breakfast is essential, and the initial offering didn’t meet my needs. Once aware, the hosts responded promptly and professionally, making necessary improvements without defensiveness. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. Its serene atmosphere, art-filled library, and welcoming hosts make it a perfect retreat.

The villa has few rooms, located in the first, 2nd and 3rd floor. They are all very large and special. The whole place has a lovely garden, lots of art everywhere. The owner Margarita welcomed us, showing us through the villa rooms and facilities. She also explained about Carrara and its surrounding, recommended restaurants, and day trips ideas. The breakfast was very generous with lots of pastries, selection of hot and cold beverages, and eggs. I highly recommend the place.

This is an amazing hotel. We stayed in one of the suites and it was wonderful. Thank you Margherita for such a great stay. The breakfast buffet, eggs, fresh juices, and Italian coffee were delicious. The family has decorated the hotel and gardens with really intriguing art and sculpture. They have a lovely garden which feels like an oasis even though you are right off a main street. The hotel is thoughtfully and beautifully designed.

An absolutely fabulous place owned and operated by fantastic folks. Accommodating doesn’t begin to describe the service and hospitality of this place. I felt relaxed and welcome from the very first moment. Tranquil gardens to enjoy your favorite book as well as a variety of books to choose from in the little library. I got a chance to stay in two rooms during my extended stay and both were great. I’d suggest the “Terrace” room though. Mainly because it’s on the 3rd floor and has a great view of the garden and the mountains surrounding Carrara.||Margherita was an absolute angel with lots of helpful information on the area and suggestions for tours available.

Stayed at Margherita's beautiful bed and breakfast for a fortnight. Don't be fooled - this really is a luxury establishment. 6 suites. Ours with balcony overlooking gorgeous garden with fantastic art works both modern and classic. Marble from the famous Carrara mountains throughout. Tasteful and elegant. Breakfast continental with everything you could want - and Margherita so accommodating that she'll be more than happy to cook your eggs any way you wish! Bed incredibly comfortable. Kitchenette/dinning room so useful, if you like us, want the odd night in (Supermarket 10 mins away). I can't recommend highly enough. Carrara has easy access on to Auto Strada, which can take you to Pisa in approx 30/40 mins or further into Tuscany (Mozzano, Lucca) in about the same. Margherita is a wealth of knowledge about local places to see and eat at and speaks very good English. This place was an absolute find!

A beautiful totally renovated old Italian villa. Only 5 or 6 appartment in an idyllic setting of immaculate gardens and grounds. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor and had a very large balcony overlooking the city of Carrara, the marble capital of Italy. Owner was most gracious and helpful in all respects. Everything there, including a 1st class breakfast, was superb. A true bargain for what was offered!

Awesome Hotel with big beautiful rooms, delicious breakfast and super friendly staff! There Is also a lot of Art in the Garden and in the house, even in your rooms, so it feels a bit like you are visiting a museum. Margherita has awesome tips for sightseeing and will do everything for you to have a great stay.
