B&B Yellow Submarine

Awesome small B & B on the edge of the centre of Antwerp (about a 7 min walk to the cathedral etc but also nice and close to the up-and-coming Eilandje area and the MAS). Vicky was super welcoming and gave us loads of great tips for places to visit. Breakfast was fab, and the room was lovely and spacious and clean. As some others have said, the bathroom layout is quirky and I don't know if I'd recommend it for say two friends who aren't comfortable showering while the other is in the same room! That being said, the B & B has provided screens for some privacy and the open-plan nature really makes the most of the space. All in all a great base for exploring the wonderful city of Antwerp, and as an added bonus, free parking! Highly recommended.

Nice B&B in the middle of Antwerpen. We were with three: a couple and a 5 month old baby. A nice and friendly host called Vicky. She was very helpfull. Big spacious room with a big and very comfortable bed. The bath tub is very big and round with a rain shower. A good view on the surrounding square and streets. The breakfast was excellent a good variety on bread, croissant, cheeses and fruit and a very good A quality cup of coffee! They have their own private parking garage situated about 50 meters from the B&B, which is absolutely necessary if you travel by car. Strong WiFi signal (handy for watching Netflix at night). The thing we didn’t like, was that everything was in one space. Bed/living room was not separated from the bathroom. The toilet was next to the livingroom with a big mirror in front of you! (Only a small retracktable screen to separate you between the bathroom and bed/living room).So anyone in the room could see you sideways through the mirror doing your thing on the toilet bowl!

Vicky, the host is very kind. The place is beautiful, comfy and clean. Time runs fast in the bathtub. Plus, it has a parking spot (thumbs up). The breakfast is good, lots of energy to start the day. All the places are near by, you can do them by walking. The bathroom has no door (in the second floor room). It is maybe something to think about if you are traveling with new friends or non so close/liberal people.

We stayed just one night as we went to a Foo Fighters Concert at the Sports Palais so the B&B was ideal in location. Vicky was very attentive and gave us lots of local info and a map to guide us. The room was modern bright and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable, and had the shower & toilet in the same room. I did get bitten by mosquitoes at night but didn’t realise until the morning they had thoughtfully put a Mosse plug in the side drawers! Breakfast was yummy and all in all a very lovely stay thank you!

Very cute, small but with a unique atmosphere place. Outstanding service of the host Vicky impressed us a lot! Very convenient location : 5 min walking distance from main city attractions; tasty breakfast, welcome champagne bottle; comfortable bed, big enough for a married couple. Vicky is always ready to help and advise, she was so kind to drive us to a train station during huge weather storm. If you would like to experience not only convenience but a hospitality as from your family member, than we highly reccomend this place. We are a married couple from Moscow, who have traveled quite a lot.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was comfortable and it was a good base for exploring Antwerp, about a 15 minute walk from the centre and close to Museum aan de Stroom and the surrounding restaurants. Vicky was very helpful and gave lots of local advice. We felt safe walking around in the evenings and the car parking facility was great. Would recommend Otomat for reasonably priced pizza and bargain spaghetti at Cafe Winning/ de Broodwinning which is on the road behind Yellow Submarine (on corner of Paardenmarkt & Klopdorp). Breakfast was continental style but good quality. Although we had a good stay we would not return due to the bathroom set up in the room, we did not enjoy the fact that it was all one room. When we bathed or showered the whole room was affected with condensation and we did not enjoy the lack of privacy. However, there are additional toilets available downstairs on the ground floor.

Lovely B&B if you’re planning a few nights in town. Minutes walk to great restaurants near MAS museum. Easy walk to shopping area. Free private parking. Very comfortable bed and nice bath tub/shower on the room at 1st floor. Street was quiet at night. Nice breakfast. |Not sure if the room will be cool in summer.||- Contact host before arrival to check availability of private parking. |- If you prefer a walk in shower check with host.||

The B&B was about 25 minute walk from the main train station through the university. It was located in between MAS and the old town center -- great location. Although it was just a couple of blocks away from the red light district, you'd hardly notice that. In fact, I only realized that on my second night there while heading back from watching the sunset! ||||The rooms were modern, spacious, and clean. It was equipped with everything one would need. To get to the room, one had to walk up and down stairs. There was an ad agency downstairs, which was kind of cool and a unique way of space sharing.||||The service was wonderful -- Elke was friendly, helpful, and yet not intrusive. The breakfast was freshly made to order, and very well balanced, too. The welcoming bottle of wine was a pleasant surprise!||||I would definitely recommend the Yellow Submarine to anyone planning to visit Antwerp.
