"Indulge in a nightcap downstairs at the Art Deco–inspired speakeasy B&GC, where bartenders sling potent cocktails, like the Purple Jacket, a lightly sweet take on a whiskey sour featuring Peach Street Colorado Straight Bourbon, made with Colorado-grown corn."

Awesome speakeasy with delicious cocktails! Super cool entrance with a door bell and being led underground to the bar. It's a small intimate area with a cool midcentury modern style. Bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. Cocktails were delicious and inventive. Would highly recommend.

My wife found this hidden speakeasy style bar. It can be difficult to get a reservation but I promise it'll be worth it. It's a small cozy place with limited seating (hence the reservation requirement I assume). It's a true speakeasy style cozy bar where you go through some office basement hallways to get to the venue. We had several drinks and snacks ( oysters and pretzels) both dishes were delicious. The staff was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the drinks they offered. All the drinks we ordered came promptly and we're fantastic. It's a great place to bring a date, out of town guests etc. It's probably not suitable for large groups but perfect for small intimate get-togethers. I highly recommend this place and perfect start in my effort to visit all speakeasies in Denver.

I visited B&GC on my first night in Denver, and from the moment I arrived, Nina made me feel incredibly welcomed. As the hostess, she set the tone for an amazing evening with her warm hospitality and genuine kindness. Her attentiveness made me feel right at home, which was especially appreciated as a solo guest. The rest of the team was just as fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to recommend some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Shoutout to the bartender that made me “sweet and fruity” cocktail requests, and spoke to me in Spanish! Each drink was expertly crafted, perfectly balanced, and an experience in itself. She made them perfectly to my requests and they were nothing but incredible. The intimate, speakeasy vibe combined with such outstanding service made for a truly memorable night. Plus there’s a cute book they give you where you can leave your permanent mark! B&GC is a must-visit for anyone looking for top-tier cocktails and exceptional hospitality. I’ll definitely be back!

Loved the atmosphere and the vibes. People there were great and it was nice and cozy. Cocktails were pretty good, but food was subpar

After long debate in my mind for a date night, I remembered that I had found this place a while back for a future date night. I'm so glad that I remembered this spot, our bartender Maria was amazing, curating drinks based off of our preference of spirit and flavor, wowing us with her own personal spin on our favorites. Bacon wrapped dates cleansed our palates as we sipped on Maria's special potions, definitely hit the spot. It's no wonder that this gem is hidden away, as all great things should be, only to be found by the adventurous and investigative people in Denvers vicinity. Don't tell just anyone about it, like you found the cheat code to life, only share with those that are worthy of such an amazing atmosphere. B&GC has placed itself among the greats as a wonderful hideaway filled with magic, sure to display the love you have for your significant other.

Google
I went in 2024. We did a few of the "tell us your profile and we will make you a drink" and they were disgusting. The menu drinks were great. The decor is wonderful. But I don't think I'll ever try to go back. It was a fun experience once though.

Google
OK after seeing so many different videos on different platforms, I decided to go. You do have to make reservations in advance. You will have a time slot. But they have food and nobody talks about the food. It was delicious. They also changed up their menu. I did the dealers choice and I videoed him telling what I was in it. It was fantastic. It’s a must go to you if you are in the Cherry Creek area for a different vibe than normal. The staff was all very friendly loved it. It’s definitely a little small area, but they packed it with plenty of choices. The burger was fantastic. The Mushrooms were also a very good choice. I would do both of them again.

Google
What a hidden gem! From the moment you walk in everyone treated me with hospitality. They make you feel like a very honored guest. Mario was my bartender. He was courteous and professional. He was extremely knowledgeable about the spirits. I enjoyed my time and cannot wait to go back. When you make the reservation it states that the gratuity is added, but Mario was so great you want to tip more.

Yelp
A gorgeous speakeasy bar! Honestly, one of the most impressive display of bartending skills I've ever had the privilege to see. We sat at the bar and got an upfront seat to the process. It was a pleasure to watch them build complex drinks with complete ease. Our first round we both ordered off the menu. I had the Where My Rosemary Goes and my friend tried the Pandan Express. Both very good for signature cocktails, but not best of the night. We also ordered the crab dip and the arancini, but by happenstance we also got another of the Croquets from the Hotel's kitchen as well! Amazing luck for us, because there were fantastic. From there we went on to give the bartenders a chance to show off! We both ordered several Bartender's Choice. There's several ways you can go about this and they're very good at leading you through to find the best fit for you. Examples: What's your preferred liquor and do you prefer it spirit forward or floral or fruity? So then ordered "Whiskey or Bourbon, Fruity- Maybe stone fruits" and got a beautiful sour that was made with Suntory, green chartreuse and a combination of bitters. It was excellent! Another example: "If I said I wanted a Paloma, but not just a Paloma?" They made me a fantastic tequila based drink with a Grapefruit liquor and fever-tree club soda. That one was my favorite! All this to say, we will obviously be back!

Yelp
I was visiting Denver for work and came with a friend on a week day. This is probably my favorite speakeasy to ever visit. It was hidden and tucked away where you had to search for the doorbell. We did not have a reservation and were turned away, but made a reservation for 30mins later and came back and were seated. The inside was pretty, and the menu boasted an awesome array of specialty mixed cocktails with many unique flavor combinations. I loved the darkest sour which had notes of sesame. We sat at the bar and one of the bartender/mixologists was very kind and talked with us some. My friend wanted a drink similar to a bloody mary (not on the menu) and they were eager to please by making a custom drink on the fly that she said was great. If you are visiting denver I highly recommend B&GC!

Yelp
B&GC, Boys & Girls Club, is a glamor & glitz, clandestine cozy bar nestled in the back of the Halcyon Hotel in the affluent Cherry Creek neighborhood. Make sure to make reservations through Tock before arriving! The entrance is in the back of the Halcyon Hotel where you gain entry by pressing the same gold doorbell as featured on their website. A bit hidden as you'll be guided by the check in attendant in the back room (poor thing!) I highly recommend you ask to sit by the bar to chat with the bartender(s) for recommendation of drinks. I tried their Pandan Express which tastes like a spiked lemonade. I enjoyed their bacon wrapped dates and chocolate cake a lot! Overall the decor and ambiance brings you into an enthralling romantic mood. Highly recommend you check this place out for a date night!

Yelp
At the door charged $600 minimum that was not disclosed for 7 paying customers on a Sunday 4 empty tables in the bar - mentioned there's a $600 minim for 7 people at the door - no flexibility Makes no sense - will not be back (have been multiple times with smaller party) will not recommend, will tell anyone who will listen not to visit this bar Awful service. Awful experience

Yelp
We were taken to this speakeasy by someone in the know...fun figuring out where it was and entering into a magical space. The decor is a nod to art deco, very classic and dim moody lighting. The bartender was outstanding, put on an understated but incredible show. We ordered off the menu for our first round. Loved my artichoke Negroni and the Penicillin was a cut above a usual one. Wow! Second round we let the bartender choose based on our preferences and he did not disappoint. He was magical.

Yelp
A great speakeasy with knowledgeable bartenders and balanced cocktails. Make reservations online. Entrance is via the alley in a door marked "private". You'll enter through what seems to be the back corridors of the Halcyon hotel. Stepping inside is a vibrant room that strikes just the right balance between intimate and bustling. The service was fantastic. They indulged me in custom cocktails based on elements that I like from various cocktails. I love Sfumato, and they were able to make a cocktail based on that. I liked it, but didn't love it, so the next cocktail they built on my feedback and made something outstanding. Don't sleep on the cocktails on the menu either, they were also great and unique. The Fajita Effect was one of my faves. We had dinner beforehand, so didn't partake much in the food menu, but it's a decent selection if you're hungry. Definitely work checking out if you're into speakeasies or cocktails.

Yelp
B&GC is my favorite speakeasy in Denver. From the sophisticated-with-a-hint-of-scandal decor, the attentive service, and the absolutely amazing drinks, I loved it all. What an experience! It all began with finding the place itself which was a fun seek. Got seated at the bar and the fun immediately began. I went with Dealer's Choice which is where you tell the bartender what alcohol and profile you like. My base was a Hendrick's Flora Adora, which if you like gin, I highly recommend this. Two bartenders created my drinks and I loved each of their creative interpretations. Their skills are top-notch. The food is also great. I'm a fan of their chocolate chip cookies. The place does get loud but it's lively. Highly recommend B&GC!

Yelp
We showed up as a party of 7 with a reservation. They never communicated a minimum before we showed up. When we show up the hostess, with an attitude, communicated a $600 minimum which is $85 a person. We were confused by this and asked to speak with the manger who could not break down the $600 minimum but believe it was "about $600". I've been here several times and the drinks are not worth their price as is. Won't be coming back. Terrible service wouldn't recommend. Try forget me not or one of the other better local bars instead.

Yelp
The acoustics are problematic in this small of a space, but a good acoustician could help eliminate the need to shout at the person across from you to be heard. Also, they could enforce a stricter dress code for their "hostesses," who looked more like a couple of teenagers watching their beaus flipping boards at the skate park vs. the gatekeepers of a swanky secret drinking establishment, but what do I know? Other than those two areas of improvement, I had a lovely time with good friends and drank some truly interesting concoctions! The wallpaper in the bathrooms was also VERY interesting ;-)

Yelp
A really moody and wonderful speakeasy! It truly felt like a speakeasy as the door is hard to find at first, but the service was top notch. They really know how to make a great cocktail. A great GNO with some friends. We had a blast as the atmosphere here is so fun and quaint and lively! You are only allowed a certain amount of time so definitely make it count!!

Yelp
As with all things that become popular.... I left a review in 2020 that it felt intimate, with amazing drinks, and weren't rushed. Welp, fast forward. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks and space are still great. But the tight 1.5 you are allotted (and then reminded by text, the hostess, and the bartender) make it feel like a cheap cash grab - as someone who frequents all of the stops around Denver looking for authentic vibes, this is no longer it.

Yelp
Definitely make reservations before going! Reservation link can be found via their IG (@bandgcdenver) or going here: https://www.exploretock.com/bandgcdenver My husband made reservations two weeks prior for 2 at 8:15PM Thursday. We were ahead of schedule that day and showed up early. They were kind enough to provide us a new reservation time at 7:15PM. The building entrance is in the alleyway so just look for a sign that says "Stair 3" and a golden doorbell. The front staff gave us fun facts about the building as we made our way to the main bar; we were told it used to be a post office building. From their site, it seems this used to be the former Cherry Creek Post Office. Getting to the bar from the main entrance was somewhat convoluted but the staff told us to follow the painted black arrows on the wall to find our way out. The bar was already packed at 7:15PM with medium noise level. This would be a great spot for date night! :) They provided us a QR code to the online menu (https://bandgcdenver.com/menu/). We ordered the Sakura Sour $18 (Toki Japanese Whisky, Pecan Infused Plantation Rum, Italicus, Lemon, Purple Yam, Cherry, Jasmine, Fee Foam) and Say You'lI Be There $19 (High West Double Rye, Allspice, Gingercello, Honey, Absinthe). The latter tasted very similar to a whiskey sour but was not as bitter as I thought it'd be. Bar seating was nice because we got to watch the bartenders make the drinks. You could tell a lot of thought was put into the menu. Highly recommend :)

Yelp
Really liked the ambiance here. Their cocktails and dishes were very tasty, and I really like the classy vibe here. The staff are friendly, and they had great drink recommendations. I am excited to return!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a cool, dark bar and this one delivers. My husband and I have been checking speakeasies off our list of must-visits and this one was near the top of it. First off, make a reservation. They do take walk-ins but I've also seen several groups get turned away so better to just make the resi. It's located down an alley and really feels like you're being ushered into a secret lair. The bar is sexy and we're so glad we sat here because we got to see the bartenders at work concocting some amazing cocktails. We've tried a few off the menu (all delicious), but what's even more fun is chatting it up with the bartender and sharing your preferences while they create their own mix tailored to what you like. I love gin and London made an exceptional fruit-forward gin cocktail that was perfectly balanced and not too sweet. My husband, the whiskey guy, kept asking for a sip because he loved it too. They also have beautiful glassware - drinking out of a teacup?? SIGN. ME. UP! We've only tried the arancini off the food menu, but they were super tasty and perfectly crispy. $$$ you're definitely paying for the location as the drinks are a bit pricey, but the quality is excellent so it aligns. I love the ambiance here and it's the perfect place for a night out. Already planning our next visit

Yelp
I'm a sucker for a speakeasy. The entrance and the feel inside the bar is great. Drinks were tasty! Definitely on the expensive side but I would say not too much more than the average speakeasy in Denver. My boyfriend had them make a dealers choice drink off the menu and really liked it! I also enjoyed mine, very fruity yet tart. Make sure to make a reservation! Will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best speakeasy experiences I've ever had! Staff was fantastic and provided awesome recommendations. The inside was unique and intimate. Drinks were phenomenal! We did the "Take a Chance" and it was so worth it. Will be back again soon!

Yelp
I'm a sucker for fancy cocktails....throw in a swanky, clandestine, speakeasy vibe and count me in! B&GC is a pretty amazing place in the depths of the Halycon Hotel. It has an Art Deco vibe somewhat akin to the bar in the shinning. Service was wonderful and we were well taken care of. Sitting at the Bar is the best option as you can see all the cocktails being crafted. I thoroughly enjoyed my Butterfly effect as it is both tasty and pretty. My second cocktail , a classic , Penicillin .... was wonderfully crafted and delicious. Snacks were wonderful as well: Great deviled eggs and fries which complemented the cocktails perfectly. The bar is well stocked with plenty of cult Bourbons: Weller ( 12yr, CYOB, Full Proof, and Antique 107) , Michters, Stagg etc. Gins and Vodkas. Great music and ambiance perfect for a date! My Tip to you is text them several times to get a reservation as they are busy working. It took me two days to get a confirmation. You won't be sorry you did!

Courtney C.

Yelp
Cautionary tale: Make reservations! I had heard so much about this spot and was excited to visit during my short trip in Denver. I was in the area and decided to stop by. After I found the door and rang the doorbell, I was told by the hostess they were "fully committed" for the night. Disappointed, I went to make a reservation for the next day by texting the number... received the link for reservations via text... only to see that there were actually reservations available every 15 minutes until close for that same night. I asked the text number about the apparent availability for that night. No response. Classy

Yelp
Great bar. I bit challenging to find but that's part of the allure. The interior is sheik and dark, the cocktails were delicious and our service was excellent. I had dinner prior so did not eat but the food I observed looked good. If you frequent NYC or LA, this may leave a bit to be desired in the details but for Denver this is as good as it gets. Reservations are essential, my group booked us a week in advance and on arrival we were promptly seated.
google avatar

Azure G.

Yelp
Love this spot and consider myself mega lucky to live around the corner and thus can sometimes sneak in without a reservation. Because this is Cherry Creek we're talking about, don't expect this to be a cheap outing - that said... it's worth it! Bartenders are super knowledgeable and if you enjoy learning, I recommend sitting at the bar and watching them work; they are also happy to answer questions. Decor is a fun speakeasy vibe (check out the bathrooms, too) and I am sucker for their whole this-is-a-secret concept. Adds some adventure. Dare I forget to mention the cocktails?! Of course not. They've got a pretty extensive menu to choose from but if nothing tickles your fancy, just tell a bartender your preferences and they'll make you something good - I can attest, mine was beautiful. I don't recall the name of the red pepper drink I get but it's amazing and I day dream about it on a regular basis ‍

Yelp
We had such an amazing time! Micah was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, and he made the best "dealers choice" tiki drink I've ever had! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Alright, so my wife and I have gotten into trying the best cocktail bar in a new city we travel to. There's not much that goes into it, I normally yelp search cocktail bars in the city we visit , choose the best one, and make a reservation a day we're there. We came to Denver for a wedding. I scoped out B&GC before arrival and booked a ressie. This was an easy one. Not only did it look like the best Denver had to offer, but it was also 1 block away from our hotel. The appeal was in the speakeasy aspect of the bar. Go into the back alley of a hotel, ring a random door bell, walk into the maintenance area, down a flight of steps, thru the boiler room and tucked away is a another random door that opens into a cocktail bar that would make Please Don't Tell in NYC jealous. The place was picked out central casting. The decor was cartoonish. If you closed your eyes , this is what you would picture an establishment like this to look like. We sat at the bar and only had time for 2 drinks. The one I can't stop thinking about had mezcal, apricot, chartreuse and thyme. Mind blowing how good it was. I've tried to recreate it at home and have come close, but nothing like the original. Check this place out. It's well worth a visit no matter the part of town you live/staying in.

Yelp
So awesome.. we love this place. Fun, sexy.. and the staff is amazing!! We live Greg.. he always makes us the perfect drink that perfectly matches our tastes!! Great see night place .,

Yelp
Wonderful drinks along with an amazing group of people working here. Everyone we encountered was so nice and friendly. We had such an amazing time, and cannot wait to return. Bartenders were knowledgeable, open to experimenting, and just overall really great people who made this place so enjoyable for us. In addition to the drinks, the two of us also shared the tuna crudo, which was so good and refreshing. Getting to B&GC was exciting, and it got even better once we were inside. The reservation process was pleasant and we got all the information we needed. There's plenty of street parking available and I believe there's a parking garage nearby as well.

Yelp
This place was by far the best speak easy I have been to in Denver! The service and hospitality were beyond superb and the drinks were amazing! We didn't have reservations however they were able to get us a table! The ambiance was perfection! Selena was our server and she was so nice! The bartender and the host training the new girl were also beyond accommodating we just didn't get their name! You have to visit!

Yelp
We were super excited to try this place after seeing the viral tiktok. Finding the entry definitely took a minute but was a fun part of the experience. We ordered the mushroom toast and fries for apps and had the painkiller, the prickly pear mock tail (subbed passion fruit because they ran out of prickly pear), and the butterfly effect. The food arrived quickly but it took 45 minutes for our drinks to come. The server spilled some of our drink (no worries, said she'd return to wipe it as we had no paper napkins - never returned). My mom also placed an order for another drink. The food was delicious as were all the drinks. After we were done, our server asked if we were ready for the check - it was then we all realized he never entered my mom's order. However, not wanting to wait another 30 minutes, we chose to leave. While we enjoyed the food and drinks, we all agreed we would not return due to the service and length of time it took to receive the drinks.

Yelp
I've been to B&GC several times and it's one of the most beautiful venues of its kind. Very cool spot. I was excited to show the place off to my business partner and made a late, after-dinner reservation. We ended up just making it there before the grace period cut-off but unfortunately had to deal with a hostess / door person with a bad attitude - and clearly just wanted to go home. We didn't get seated and were disappointed. That said, the true test of service is the response to a complaint - and the following day the F&B manager from the hotel reached out to me, apologized and offered to have us back. While it was appreciated, we unfortunately had to leave that day - but will definitely give it another shot.

Yelp
Vibe is five stars, for sure. I think if we didn't have extensive experience (a) going to speakeasies and (b) making our own cocktails at home, we would have been more blown away by the drinks. As it was, they sounded interesting on paper but then weren't as interesting as they tasted. My boyfriend asked for a suggestion for his second drink based on liking his first one, and the bartender said she'd surprise him with something. What he got was an Oaxacan Old Fashioned, which is a really lovely and interesting drink that we frequently make at home. It's a drink that's on a LOT of bar menus these days. So...sure, it was nice, but if we're at a fancy speakeasy, we're looking for memorable, creative drinks we haven't seen before. B&GC falls flat in this respect. If you're relatively new to the craft cocktail scene, you'll love this place. If you're a pretty experienced craft cocktail drinker/maker and end up here anyway, maybe try their martini service? One was being prepared as we left, and it looked really nice.
google avatar

Deb H.

Yelp
This is an "experience" place and not really a regular spot. Great experience to take someone new, someone visiting you or coworkers. There's a whole spiel to make it seem speakeasy-like and exclusive where you need to reserve a spot and they give you a black card with a phone number but when my group finally got in (we didn't reserve but were able to take another reservation when they didn't show up) it was barely half full. The entrance is down the alley under the hotel - cool points. Then you are escorted down mechanical room area (concrete, pipes, etc) to a heavy nondescript door and there's a cool little bar inside. The booths are honey colored leather - seems real nice quality. Decor gave me 60's vibes. Very small, intimate bar. Great place to sit with others you want to talk to and be able to hear.
google avatar

Alyssa H.

Yelp
So this place was interesting. The entrance is in an ally way between a parking garage and a restaurant. You'll know it's the place because of the triangle symbol on the doormat and by the doorbell. Loved the vibe of this place. The execution is a little elusive. To get a reservation, you have to text them, on their website it says time, date and number in party but they also want a name even though they don't mention that. The problem is, they rarely respond so when you show up you don't really know whether you have a reservation or not. The other issue is supposedly the doorbell is broken? So prepare to stand in the cold pretty much until someone walks out. Once you get past all of this the bar itself is actually super cool- just very much an "instagram vs. reality" situation.
google avatar

Matt F.

Yelp
Here's the thing, all the drinks we had were great. The 4 of us tried 6-7 different drinks and there we all good. They didn't have egg white which is whatever it's bird flu time. The reason I'm giving them 4 stars is the menus were beat up and gross. Whereas at Death & Co, granted I understand is a different vibe, has beauuutiful menus, which changes every few weeks. It's like having a Mac vs a shitty computer at the library. There's an essence of occasion that comes with it, and for me, as small as that is of a gripe, that's what would've tied the experience together for me. I would also like to see something fat washed especially the rum and coconut drink, just fat wash the rum in the coconut, adds a ton of texture. Service was great, place was beautiful, getting inside was cool. Great night, solid drinks
google avatar

Afton W.

Yelp
My party arrived early for our reservation and unfortunately had to wait 30 min to be seated. Upon entering, I was surprised to see about half of the place was full. The party of 6 infront of us were denied entry because they added 1 person to their party which I thought was absurd, especially since throughout the night the bar didn't exceed half capacity. The staff were pretty lax and very unprofessional, giving off an impatient and ready to go home vibe. I was overall very disappointed in the experience and expected more. The description of the ambiance is extremely misleading.

Emma C.

Yelp
Such a fun time coming here! The entrance and being led down the stairs and through a hallway made the experience exciting, and the ambiance and service once we entered the bar was lovely. The drink I tried, the "it's always foggy in London" was awesome with a great presentation, highly recommend if you are a fan of black tea.

Connor B.

Yelp
I really hate having to write poor reviews, but with such high expectations of the speakeasy, I was surprised right off the bat by the staff's horrible communication. It was INSANELY BAD. B&GC says don't show up 10 minutes past reservation or it will be cancelled, so even when we showed up earlier than the reservation time... we still waited for 30 MINUTES TO BE SEATED, and the staff looked disconnected. When my group entered inside, THERE WERE 3 OPEN TABLES. I expected someone would stop by to take our order, since it wasn't booming there, but no waiter or waitress came up to our table for the next 15 minutes. So I went to the bar and asked if someone would come by. The staff who worked and served at B&GC last night looked genuinely disgusted to be there, two ornaments taped to the ceiling fell on me, the music was so bad it felt like a joke. Definitely didn't live up to the hype in their website description.

Yelp
I enjoyed my experience overall here but the service was hit or miss and the prices steep. It's always fun to go to a speakeasy and find the hidden door. The check in people were really nice and friendly - the process was smooth with our reservation. The bar is a small beautiful room with dark lighting and classy evoration. The drink menu was very extensive but also rather expensive. Definitely paying the premium for the experience. Drinks were mainly $18 and they were charging an extra $1 for drinks with egg white due to the Avian flu. Honestly when drinks cost that much already and you own a small room in a basement the company can probably afford the 30c egg that used to be 15c. It's the little things that cheapen an experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink which seemed strong but I also didn't think it was anything exceptional. My friends' alcoholic drinks were good as well but they charged my friend $15 for a nonalcoholic drink that she said tasted just like regular juice. Unfortunately, the waitress constantly looked annoyed with our group and clearly had no patience for us when we asked a few questions - we were not particularly annoying either since I'm very sensitive to that having previously worked in the service industry and now working in healthcare. This was not at peak time (5:30pm) so not sure what she had better to do. Service at a higher end bar really should be far better. It was overall a pretty solid 3/5 experience but until their service matches their prices I don't think I'd come back.

Yelp
What a fun arrival! You get a text after booking with instructions to find the secret door in the alley. The drinks are the best in denver! I also ate in Local Jones before and that was amazing!

Yelp
What a fun speakeasy! You definitely have to make reservations a bit out, but so worth it. I love the vibe of it actually feeling like a speakeasy with the "back door", card with only phone number on it, secret way to get in, and amazing attention-to-detail of the cocktail menu. 10/10!

Yelp
By far, one of the coolest speakeasy cocktail bars I've been to! The entrance is tucked back and fairly obscure, which only adds to the "speakeasy" allure. Once inside, you are transported back to the art deco period with the warm lighting, detailed accents and comfortable seating. B&GC offers incredible cocktail drinks on their menu, but their talented bartenders can create you a unique drink based on your preferences. I took advantage of this option as I am pregnant and they were able to create me mocktail that made me feel like I was having the real thing.

Yelp
Perfect way to end our night! We had a not-so-great dinner experience nearby and just wanted a place to kick back for a drink and B&GC did not disappoint! Finding the place was... interesting. On a summer night, it would have been fun but with the wind and the cold, you just wanna figure it out. I guess that can be kept in mind, but it's not a major deterrent just dress warm if you need to. We did have to wait a bit at the door, but we ran into some other folks going into the place and had some really pleasant conversation that distracted us from the cold. Once the host greeted us, he informed us that last seating was at 8:30 (we were 45 min beyond this) and we knew we had no reservation but, after talking with the crew they were able to accommodate us. I'll just say that was pretty amazing in itself, we were grateful and excited before we could even get into the door at this point as walk-ups. Once you traverse down the stairs and through some industrial stuff: fenced off valves and switches and things that control who knows what, you find yourself in a cozy little space with soft lighting reflecting off the walls, leather and brass furnishings. Something reminiscent of Old Hollywood, paying homage to art deco but honestly it feels like going into another world. Lighting is dark, but not so dim you can't see anything at all. All of the details bring a sense of warmth and they really highlight the magnificent bar. Unlike any other place you'd see in Denver, that's for sure. We just stayed for a drink each as they were closing soon, but the food menu looked really good and the prices were very fair. Same could be said for the cocktails: $15-18 for a cocktail is pretty standard in Denver but these were REALLY good. You could always taste the spirits, but neither of our drinks were too alcohol-forward like many of the places around Denver. The Lover's Quarrel was delicious: the strawberry wedged on the rim gave your nose a little something to take in every time you took a sip and it complimented the drink so well. Just really nice This place offers great atmosphere, great service, and their product is actually good too! So rare to find all three of these things in places around Denver but B&GC is a gem and well worth your time. Can't wait to go back! Just don't get lost on the way out

Yelp
Beautiful space. Cocktails were strong and well made. The music was so quiet that you could hear everyone's conversations. They needed a better mix to really set the tone. Also, the staff didn't seem happy to be there. Maybe an off night

Yelp
Unfortunately management has really set a bad taste in our mouth. What was once a must visit speakeasy has turned into a plethora of frustration and headaches. After showing up on time to our reservation we ended up waiting over 25 minutes before being seated. Service was slow so after an hour and a half (and only 2 drinks each) we decided to call it a night, but our coat was stolen out of coat check due to it being unmanned in the hall. After calling the GM, Jason, at the office and on his cell dozens of times over the ensuing week and emailing him many times. He finally responded. It took us 3 weeks to get our coat back and the lack of communication from him was incredibly frustrating. I will say they recovered our coat and had it dry cleaned. But this situation never should have been so drawn out and had us kept in the dark for so long. Terrible follow up and lack of empathy from management will prevent me from coming back any more.

Yelp
Awesome place! Drinks were delicious and service was amazing! The location wasn't too hard to find and once inside it was beautifully decorated and styled!

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed our B&GC experience. The service was excellent! Micah, our server, was super knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. Great music (80's), which was perfect! Definitely plan to return soon.

Yelp
The Espresso Martini keeps me coming back, but the gorgeous vibe, stellar service, and consistently interesting cocktail menu are all equally amazing. Definitely check out this little hidden gem!

Yelp
Most elaborate hidden speakeasy entrance we've seen in a while! Meet the hostess at an alley entrance, confirm your reservation, check your coats, then be leas down several twisty industrial hallways to the bar! Once inside; the bar is dark and uber-cool with comfy seating and a super well-stocked bar. The bartenders are mixology trained masters - they can mix whatever elixiir you may desire! A large menu features interesting house-cocktails, but guests are not limited to those choices. The wait staff is solicitous and polite, but the one waiter was responsible for all of the tables. Poor planning; hire another waiter, and/or train one of the several hostesses to serve drinks. Other than this one glitch, the bar is fantastic!

Yelp
Syd is awesome! The bar and cocktails were fine. I didn't really enjoy my visit very much. We went all the way out there and I expected a little more than we got. The venue is nice, but there isn't really great atmosphere. The secret door is a cute feature. Again Syd is awesome.

Yelp
Sneaky sneaky speakeasy! Love this place so much. If you're looking for a unique bar that also gives you prohibition vibes, than this is the place. It's a cozy bar that has booth and bar seating available depending on how many are in your party. From the decor down to the glassware it just makes you feel as though you've gone back in time. The drinks are not only tasty, but they go down so smooth. Definitely don't miss hitting up this swanky speakeasy and get the full experience of a hidden bar.

Yelp
Tonight Zeke took on the role of CPT. Kirk as we entered the starship enterprise of speakeasies! We literally tried one of everything and man, what an experience! We shared some fun conversations with our bar mates, we tried Zeke's Dark Matter cocktail (see the pic) and we fell in love with a thoughtful speakeasy in the heart of Cherry Creek! Thanks Zeke and the team, we look forward to boldly experimenting with you all again soon! -David Kanefsky Insurance Agency 303-431-9490

Yelp
Absolutely killer place! Great hidden entry, great ambiance, and amazing drinks. Alec and Matt were awesome, and Alec crafted up some cocktails for us that were off the charts. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I was hesitant to review this bar because it is such a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way! However, here I am writing this because these guys deserve the praise. What. A. Cool. Spot. Honestly, I feel like the speakeasy scene is a little played out and now that spots like Williams and Graham and the Green Russell have been "discovered" the appeal is a little lost. Don't get me wrong, I love delicious craft cocktails in a dimly lit basement, but when you can make reservations on Open Table, it doesn't feel so secret anymore. B&CG still has that mystique. You have to text same day to confirm your spot and only then are you given the coordinates to the entrance. A mysterious doorbell in an alleyway indicates you are in the right spot. You are escorted down an industrial looking staircase past HVAC equipment and into the bar area. The room is small and I think capped at 44 people (not that I have ever seen it filled). The bar is lit by warm lights and definitely has a Gatsby-esque feel. The bartenders walk you through the menu but are more than happy to go off book. Marcello has made my drinks several times and it is a treat to watch him work his magic as he is genuinely thrilled to craft something to your liking. Prices aren't cheap but I would say they are comparable to other cocktail bars, especially those in Cherry Creek. Definitely my new favorite spot- don't tell your friends!
