Delightful hotel in a beautiful seaside setting. Good size, clean and welcoming room. Good restaurant which though not cheap was not unreasonable for the setting (and in Denmark). Restaurant staff all very helpful and attentive. Our server, Tommy, deserves a special mention for his charm and humour.

Very friendly people! Not a 4 star in my humble opinion. Very little luxury and much more of a B&B feel to it. We booked a junior suite, and although clean, it was not perfect and had very basic features (travel kettle). The furniture was poor. In fairness there was a jacuzzi bath. There was no smoke alarm and the stairs to the room in this separate annex were exceptionally steep (very difficult with luggage). Breakfast was ok but a bit of a scramble - just laid out on a single table. Overall not a very bad experience - not great, bit worn and very overpriced! BUT lovely people.

Arrived and got one (1) key in a pre-used paper sleeve. There were A LOT of spiders in the room we booked. Dozens, and big ones too. My wife has arachnophobia so we could not stay. The answer we got from reception was that they are attracted to the light and there’s nothing that can be done (of course the room was dark until we got there). A refund was impossible according to them because the reservation was through Expedia. This was obviously also a straight up lie because the hotel can cancel a reservation. We went elsewhere and after reading about the ownership, are glad we didn’t give these liars one more euro. Tl:dr: - Hotel is full of spiders, apparently nothing can be done around where the hotel is (though no such issue at the Best Western 15min away) - Reception lied to our face about inability to issue refund - To top it all off, apparently the hotel is ran by a Christian cult of some sort All in all: Terrible rooms and cleanliness, terrible customer service. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

I paid for a room with sea view but didn’t get it. The rooms are ok, but for the price I would expect a bit more attention to detail. Management can put a bit more love into their organization.

What a brilliant place for a family event- in this case a celebration of a significant birthday. Great rooms and excellent wheelchair access. One highlight was a day trip to Maribo using the Bandholm Veteran train. Not wheelchair accessible, but they went out of their way to help and made it a unique experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic venue for both business and romantic getaways. We spend two very constructive days while experiencing both venue and nature nearby. Calm surroundings and excellent food/wine. Special thanks to Joachim and Emma. Highly recommend.

We spent two nights at Bandholm in mid-August 2024. Was it bad? No, just completely underwhelming. One thing Bandholm does very well is take seductive photos and videos of the hotel and surroundings. They are very selective in what they show you, e.g. they don't show you the small harbour and silos that are the main view from the hotel's terrace. The silos did have their own beauty at night, I'll admit.||The beach is sort of a little strip of sand right opposite the hotel (and next to the harbour) and right next to the local road. Don't believe for a moment what you see in the promo video - there is no wide beach, there is no pier, no beach chairs. The hotel does not supply beach towels. However, the beach is shallow and no rocks so excellent for kids.||They talk up their "wilderness" spa. Well, I didn't see it operate but I took a look inside and it was not appealing. It is basically a barrel with a bench on either side. And the hot tubs, or whatever they call them, were similarly tired looking. Besides, they were right next to the terrace so you'd have to trek between people having drinks as you enter/exit. Not sure how that is "wilderness". However, none of the "spa" facilities seem to have been working in a while. There was a similarly dated tiki-bar and 2 palm covered parasols - in Denmark? Why? It didn't matter, the bar was not in use. The other parasols carried ads for Coca-Cola - a bit downmarket perhaps? We could not have breakfast or any other meal on the terrace despite the excellent weather.||We were not informed that only the brasserie was open during our stay. The food was fine but nothing more. Wine list - at least by the glass - barely serviceable and they ran out of our choice. Let's pass by the bar in silence.... Breakfast was not buffet - you got what you were served. Great "hyben" jam! But, a little plate with one thin slice of cheese half covered by two thin slices of some kind of sandwich meat - really?||Rooms were ok but not what one would expect at that level. But would it kill them to put a mosquito screen on the window so guests can get some air (since hotel asks that windows not be opened to avoid flying insects inside).||Let me finish here. It was not terrible but given what it cost and their aspirations of being the best, it should have been a LOT better.
