What a wonderful place to stay! The cabin has more room than meets the eye at first. The one we stayed in needs a new couch, and that is the only reason I take one star off for the rooms. All of the basics are provided, and the view you get to wake up to is amazing and refreshing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I look forward to my next stay here.

While the location is great and the view of mountains amazing, the entire place, cabin and community are very run down. No shower in one bath. Old and dusty. Very dated. Not even one day on cleaning service and required to pick up your own towels and supplies every few days.

This resort is absolutely stunning, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views. The cabins are cozy and so spacious, complete with big patios and fun lawn games that make the stay extra enjoyable. The staff are so lovely and welcoming, and we loved that there’s a gorgeous creekside hike starting right from the resort. We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

We visited this resort 2 years ago during a weekend to look at wedding venues in the area and upon checkin knew it had to added to the list. By the end of the weekend we had booked a meeting with the manager to chat wedding details and booked our wedding weekend ! Over the last 2 years management and staff have been excellent to deal with and answer every question no matter how small Our wedding day was amazing and Banff Gate Mountain Resort was such a beautiful place to have our outdoor ceremony with mountains as a backdrop, indoor reception and the cabins on-site for the guests were very nice to have. We couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else and cant wait to come back to visit !

We initially planned to stay in Canmore but learned the property was near noisy train tracks that run all night. Fortunately, an opening appeared at Banff Gate Mountain Resort, and we’re so glad we switched. We had an entire cabin to ourselves, featuring two large bedrooms, two bathrooms (one with a shower, the other with a tub), a full kitchen, a living room, and a fantastic porch with stunning views. Check-in was seamless, and the staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage five hours early, even letting us keep cold items in their office fridge, which was a huge help. The resort is nestled in a scenic area and offers a hot tub (towels provided by the front desk), which was perfect after a long day of hiking. Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay. The views from the balcony were breathtaking, as our uploaded photos show. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating—extra tea or coffee was available upon request. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning, though large box fans were provided. While appreciated, the fans were somewhat loud, slightly disrupting the area’s tranquility. The cabin also had a fireplace and heater, but we didn’t need them during our summer stay. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, loved our spacious cabin, and appreciated the well-maintained facilities. We highly recommend Banff Gate Mountain Resort!

The cabin was very clean. The bedding very comfortable. The cabin was very warm when we arrived. The fans helped, but it was difficult to get comfortable in the upstairs room. The fans helped cool the temp by the 2nd day

This place is nice and quiet but long in the tooth and in need of maintenance. The decks need paint and finishing and just generally need some tlc. The location is before Canmore and not before Banff. But it is quiet and has some great views. Staff is always happy and helpful when I have stayed here.

We love it! Outdoor area has tennis court, basketball court, nice trees, feels like a small corner in Switzerland, very QUIET, CLEAN, COMFY BEDS, stayed two nights, one of the night spotted aurora from upstairs bedroom window. It's a truly amazing place to stay. May 2025

Yelp
This Resort has come a long way over the Years that I have been coming here. They have made many improvements, such as the outdoor hot tub is operational, there are two large newly renovated cabins, the WiFi is noticeably better. I recommend at least coming up here for the view!

Yelp
We spent two glorious weeks in the Canadian Rockies....truly one of the most beautiful and wonderful places on earth. Our first week was spent on the British Columbia side of the mountains at Big Horn Meadows, which was nice and we enjoyed our stay there. However it wasn't Banff Gate. I guess all vacations depends on what one wants and expects. If you were a golfer then Big Horn Meadows in the scenic town of Radium Hot Springs (also one of our favorites) would be THE PLACE to stay. However, we are not golfers. We are wildlife enthusiasts. We enjoy nature and the mountains. We enjoy balconies where we can observe wildlife wander through the grounds. All of these we enjoyed at Banff Gate Mountain Resort. Because we have stayed there before we expected wooden cabins. We expected clean accommodations, but nothing fancy. Our cabin this year had a new table & chairs for dinning and the balcony was in tip-top shape. We had no complaints about our cabin, which they call a chalet. We were exceptionally pleased with the staff. We were happy with the pool, which is heated and indoors. We enjoyed the outdoor hot tub on several days. We enjoyed the indoor hot tub everyday! Most days the deer came by feeding on the dandelions. We hoped for a bear on property, but that didn't happen. However, one had been removed two weeks before arrival because he became "too friendly" on the grounds and was removed by authorities 250 KM away. We went in May of this year, which is a perfect time to see wildlife and before the crowds become unbearable in Canmore/Banff!

Yelp
This is a time share resort that has fallen into bankruptcy twice since 1989 and appears that it may be there again. Our unit has no functioning screen on the walkout deck therefore, we can't open the door and let fresh mountain air in because the bugs (mostly mosquitoes) are numerous. There is a thermostat on the wall but there have been on A/C units installed because, I'm told by the desk clerk, there is no money to do so. The afternoons have been in the 80's and no A/C, the fan on doesn't even work and I'm not sure there is even a heater for winter weather. The towels are not absorbent, are very thin and unraveling around the edges. Also, we were told there would be a towel exchange on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It didn't happen on Monday as we were told and had to go get towels. They had NO wash clothes and offered hand towels. They did pick up the dirty towels and leave fresh on Wednesday as requested on Tuesday night. The staff are GREAT! They try their best and work very well given what they have to work with. I actually feel sorry for them having to face guest. Oh, the grass looks as if it hasn't been touched this year. However today, Friday, 27 June the weekend that people begin to come in for the HUGE Rodeo in Calgary, the lawn service has been here all day. The lawn is full of Dandelions and there is no real landscaping. The playground has some playground equipment but the material is all wood which could cause splinters for the children using it. This place has potential but needs an infusion of LOTS of money. If you don't mind a place a litter better than a tent, you'll be OK. BTW, I have pics that I'll upload later.
