If Brendan has never done your cut or color, run don’t walk!! He is the sweetest and always leaves me looking and feeling more myself than when I arrived. He’s so attentive and wonderful at giving you exactly what you want. Can’t recommend him enough!

I have been getting my hair cut here by Diane for 2 years now and absolutely love it! Very good atmosphere and clean. Diane always cuts my hair exactly as I requested, tailors the haircut to frame my face perfectly, and is so nice. She also is very good at styling my hair to suit my natural hair texture. Highly recommend and will continue to be a customer here.

Diane - hair color. Service to book: full placement. The result: multi-dimensional blonde greatness. I have been getting my color done by Diane for 3 years now. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you I ALWAYS get stopped in the street with people asking who does my color. At the bus stop, in line at Trader Joe's, a sommelier at a wine tasting, men women, everyone. Literal *GASPS* "who does your hair". Yesterday a woman walked past me, about halfway down the block she pulled a 180 and charged straight toward me - wanted to know who did my hair, of course!

Diane is amazing. She's been cutting my hair for the past two years now and they are by far the best cuts I've ever had -- feathery, Farrah-inspired layers that frame/flatter my face, and make me feel like a 70s dream machine. I'm always so pleased by the way the cut grows out and keeps shape over time. I'm very no-fuss, and Diane's magic means I can roll out of bed ready to strut. Highly recommended.

Love this salon. I've gotten my hair done by hector and gia and they were both amazing.

Went to Joseph and did not receive what I asked for, I came in with inspiration pictures of my own hair in the past. I had longer wavy/curly hair and wanted more layering and to lighten up some very blocky and thick layers I had gotten before. I was told what I wanted wouldn't really work and I actually just needed to learn how to diffuse and style my hair even though I explained I don't like diffusing my hair and let it air dry and am happy with the way it looks. Ended up agreeing to their suggestions as long as the sections that were messed up could be evened out. They took weight off the bottom and did not fix any of the layers I came in unhappy with. They also ended up scrunching and diffusing my hair until it was poofy and frizzy with no curls as I had described happens. Looked so much worse than when i came in and left embarrassed just on the walk back to my car. Most expensive hair cut I have ever paid for and first I had gotten post covid and ended chopping my hair off at home about a week later because it was still so uneven and thinned out at the bottom. This was months ago but I waited because I didn't want to leave a review when I was so upset. Joseph's work on their instagram looks very nice I just don't think they listened to what I was wanting and assumed I needed a better curly hair routine. Store was nice and clean and had other good reviews though so I was expecting a lot more.

Love this place! Best for color and cuts! Make sure you book an appointment, as this place is very popular! They even have a branch in Brooklyn, New York now!!

I'm giving Gia two starts because my color turned out great. However, my cut was totally uneven. One side looked great with layers hanging nicely but the other side's layers were so choppy and uneven. They were not blended but rather cut straight across and there appeared to be a chunk of hair missing where she chopped into it. This is totally unacceptable. Of course I didn't notice this until I washed my hair the next day. As a client, I expect to at least leave a salon with an even haircut. I had to attempt to even it out myself as I was too scared to go back to her and can't afford to go get it evened out elsewhere. I can accept some of the other unprofessional things I witnessed while sitting in the chair, but not an uneven haircut. I will not be going back and will never recommend anyone to go.

New hair salon with a very cool design and talented, lovely crew. This is a shining example of post-pandemic new businesses that I hope San Francisco sees more and more of popping up this year. Owner Diane has done a top job with the interior - it's light, warm, creative, playful - with pops of color from a palette so now that it is slightly into tomorrow. I had previously been seeing Hannah Skelton when she was at David James salon in Hayes Valley and she is now working out of Bangin Hair Salon, so I have just been over there for my first indoor haircut since the pandemic began 15 months ago. It's refreshing to be back indoors, I suggest you try it! Hannah is awesome. Nuff said. When you arrive at the salon they have a COVID-safe outdoor waiting area where you can enjoy watching the colorful Castro go by while you wait. The pandemic is nearly over - go get yourself a bangin new haircut.

I had a full highlight with Jenny a few weeks ago and people have been complimenting my hair ever since. I've really never been happier with my hair. Jenny is so sweet and detail oriented that I instantly knew I was in good hands as soon as she starting foiling. She is worth it! Dont wait, book with her!

I have been following Hannah to each of her salons over the past 10 years but I think this is my favorite space! The colors, decorations, even the cute bathroom is so bright and playful, I love it. Hannah is the best hairdresser I know and I send allllll my friends to her and they all agree that not only is she talented, she is also a GIANT sweetheart. What more could you want in a hairstylist?!

I love this place! Great friendly service and they always give me the best cut. The staff is a ton of fun and as a bonus they've got great furniture and decor. If you want a hip contemporary hair salon this is your spot!

I followed Joseph Vorachack to this wonderful new location on Market Street in the Castro. They work very hard to make the shop covid safe, temperature check, staggering hair cuts appointments, etc. Joseph is just amazing, knows people and hair, and is an artist and wizard with cuts and styling, and just an all around excellent person.

Bangin Hair formally known as The Bull and the Heather is a wonderful, peaceful and calm hair studio. I love going to Sabrina for cuts and color; I have very curly hair and she really knows how to work with it and create a modern, very flattering, shape that I am always very happy with and that I can manage at home post-salon style. Her product knowledge is awesome and always explains things really well for us hair novices. I just sit back and relax and always know that I am in good hands. Definitely an all around very cool salon experience.
