As I was walking rather aimlessly through the bustling streets of the Pathum Wan area on my last day in the city, I found myself right in front of the Bangkok Art & Culture Centre. It was one of those days dedicated to doing anything that looked interesting—I had no particular agenda.
The Centre is massive, spread across seven floors, with plenty of little shops and several exhibitions running at the time. I also stumbled upon a lovely reading room that doubles as a bookstore focused on Southeast Asian literature. They had an intriguing collection, and the space itself felt just right for someone looking to quietly read and explore the region’s art and culture.
The BACC is a great stop for anyone interested in exhibitions, installations, and contemporary art in Bangkok. From what I gathered, they also feature artists from across Southeast Asia and perhaps even beyond.
If you have some time in your itinerary, I’d definitely recommend a visit. It’s best to check their website or social media beforehand to see what’s on—or better yet, go with a local guide who can give you some context before you step into what can feel like an overwhelming (but exciting) space with lots happening at once.
