I’m writing this review because Kala gave an extraordinary service like no other! She was so absolutely kind and full of positive energy. It was my bday and she made me truly feel Special. The food was delicious, wine was tasty, ambience was amazing, and I had a very wonderful dinner. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Went here for winterlicious. It was good, but not super blown away. Our favourite thing was the potato croquette. The crispy pork was a bit dry, and the dumplings weren’t that crispy. The dessert was okay.

Suggested to have a surprise Birthday celebration here with a group of people. It’s a beautiful restaurant with proper Thai menu. Nothing to write home about but good enough. The parking is nonexistent most specially DT. The staff are very attentive

063025 - came to have lunch at Bangkok Garden my opinion if I may share ~ the buffet selection weren't that delightful nor flavourful like so... the portions on the buffet display were limited and skimpy... could it considering it was a Monday? quality was not at its best... chicken wings were extra small more like thumb size... not the fresh fried cooked wings - the meat was dry. One can tell it was more like being reheated from last night's batch... doesn't look appealing at all... I went for 2nds simply to check it out... this time, the wings looked fresh and juicy... disappointed being my 1st visit... only picked a scoop of the meals - bean sprout w/ tofu, warm soup, coconut curry chicken, fish and even salad which I hardly do given it's buffet with other choices... but not this time. didn't go for pad thai or fried rice 😕 😞 even the desserts were not as enjoyable except for the fresh watermelon and pineapple cut in small slices. everything on the buffet were tiny portions - skimping on all menu quite sad perhaps restaurant has some challenges and struggling. What was refreshing ~ the ice cold water they served. And I ordered the mango slushy. The good review I can say at this point. The restaurant was surprisingly impeccable however the number of stairs / steps can be a big challenge. To note: two food inspectors were on-site with hand held temperature device coming in and out between kitchen and the buffet display. Made me wonder 🤔

The interior is what got me to book this restaurant for dinner. We were a group of 6-7 friends. The place is big, service is okay. The way to the washroom might take a couple minutes to figure out as it’s a bit of a maze. Their food is okay, nothing to really talk about.

Google
I don’t usually write any bad reviews but I did not like the food. The interiors and atmosphere was really nice though! I felt like I was away on vacation in Bangkok for real! The food took half an hour to come so that probably created more disappointment. we ordered the emerald curry with chicken, and the curry felt really watered down and majority just coconut milk… It isnt even because it’s not spicy enough, it just lacks flavour entirely. I can’t believe the rice was separately ordered as well when rice should always come with curry… The pad thai was better but overall the food just felt so white… I would rather have service that’s not as good than food that’s mediocre. It was way over priced for the food, but it is understandable for the store location and perhaps how high rent may be there. The cocktail we had was not bad though! Not much to say about this place. It makes sense for all the other three star reviews. I should’ve known by not seeing a single asian soul in the room. People need to start rating restaurants based on food and not just how their server /service is to them… Overall rating 5/10

Google
Came for winterlicious, I thought the food was well worth the price and the restaurant service and atmosphere were very enjoyable. I had the croquette appetizer which was crispy and stuffed w nicely seasoned ground pork. For mains I had the red curry pad Thai with pork, good flavour but I thought the noodles with the curry sauce was a bit too salty. I would also recommend getting it with shrimp instead. I also had a drink (coconut martini? unfortunately forgot the name) which was quite good. For dessert we had a jackfruit spring roll which I thought was average. Service was very friendly and let our group stay and chat after we finished our meal.

Google
Gorgeous building. Beautiful decor. The staff were so friendly and provided excellent service. The food is TO DIE FOR! I cannot stress this enough. My husband and I really struggle to find restaurants that still take pride in their food and don’t charge an arm and a leg. This family owned restaurant makes truly authentic food, taught by one generation to the next (info from our wonderful server Kala). 10/10 would drive back downtown Toronto to go again.

Yelp
I am visiting from NYC. My family and I were craving real, authentic Thai food. The food was AMAZING! I had some crappy fake Thai food somewhere else last week. The food over here is so delicious. The staff were super nice. Ambiance is perfect! Get everything on the menu! Yummy !

Yelp
The spring rolls were delicious! Served piping hot! We also had a shrimp dish I don't remember the name of and sesame beef/ the beef was cooked perfectly and the spring dish was good and not too spicy. Server was nice and helpful. Also really enjoyed the Thai beef they had.

Yelp
Mediocre Thai restaurant with slow service and beautiful decor. Restaurant is quite big and there is ample seating. I got the Thai chicken wings and pineapple fried rice. The chicken wings were great: crispy and well seasoned. The fried rice was very greasy and quite bland. The servers weren't very attentive and it took some time for the food to come and for us to pay the bill as their system was down. The restaurant feels quite dated and at this price point, there are many other Thai restaurants in the downtown core that rival Bangkok Garden, such as Pai or Koh Lipe. I would skip this one.

Yelp
We enjoyed a delicious meal at Bangkok Gardens last weekend. The restaurant has moderately nice ambiance and I really loved the water garden, which I passed by on my way to the rest room. THE FOOD: - LEMON SHRIMP SOUP TOM YUM GOONG The Tom Yum Goong was really good and it came with a nice quantity of shrimps (3 big shrimps) a delicious lemon flavoured broth, mushrooms, lemongrass, lime leaves, and bird's eye chili. The portion was a little on the smaller side but it was really good. MIXED VEGETABLE STIR-FRY PAD PAUK The mixed vegetable stir fry was really good and it included carrots, bok choy, broccoli, and other mixed vegetables. The flavour was really good and it wasn't too saucy. I enjoyed eating this with our entrees. GRILLED SEAFOOD SATAY AAHARN TALAY SIEP MAI YANG This dish was really good but arrived differently than we anticipated. It came with three skewers, which included grilled shrimp, squid and mussels marinated in a curried coconut milk. This dish was also served with a delicious piquant garlic dipping sauce (the employees thought it might be too spicy for me) on the side, which I used on all my proteins and rice. The garlic dipping sauce was exquisite! EMERALD CURRY GAENG KIEOW WAAN The Emerald green curry was my favourite dish. We ordered this with beef and the flavour composition was phenomenal. The dish was made with coconut cream, fresh basil, and lime leaves. We ordered two bowls of jasmine rice to go with our dishes and the meal was really good. I believe the reviews have a low rating because the prices are high and the portions are smaller than other restaurants. Would we come back? We would come back when we have another $20 off coupon from Elmwood Spa or to celebrate an event, since it's pricer than some of our other go to Thai restaurants.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Fresh and cooked perfectly. Came out quick too! We were a table of 6, we got some apps and shared four meals and it was plenty. Service was great too.

Yelp
Very cute inside, great service and we liked everything we ordered. I especially liked their special hot tea blends.

Yelp
Bangkok Garden has been around forever, and occupied a historic building on Elm Street. Inside, the decor is 80's-style but fantastic. The food is similarly dated unfortunately. The lunch buffet is what everyone gets, but for $24 I would have hoped for something more than typical food court-style food. It was fine, but nothing special. Newer Thai restaurants like Pai blow Bankgok Garden out of the water at similar prices. Minus points for refusing to split a lunch bill with work colleagues even though we all ordered the exact same thing. A bad policy for a restaurant open for lunch downtown.

Yelp
What a gem! I was recommended by my massage therapist to go to this restaurant for the best Thai food in Toronto, and I was not disappointed. My massage therapist worked at Elm spa for many many years (Keisha Davis) and she said that the staff at Bangkok Gardens shared a change room with them. Keisha mentioned how the owners of this restaurants come from Thailand/specifically import spices from Thailand to get their food to truly taste authentic. I went on a Friday for lunch around 12:40pm and we were the first ones seeded in this unassumingly big restaurant. The interior design is gorgeous, with a running water little pond with koi fishes swimming inside, an upper floor with more tables, a big giant Buddha statue that was not in your face, but more classy and subtle than you expect. My friend ordered the yellow curry with chicken (Yum!) And I ordered the red curry with chicken (also good, but I preferred the yellow curry dish and overall just now of a fan of green curry but that was not one of the lunch options available). To be honest, the curry was not what I had expected. Here in Canada and in the States, the curries that I've had are thick, creamy and very very rich (like fatty-tasting rich and thick) of a sauce, but the curry served here, I think, is authentic and likely how they serve/cook it in Thailand. It's a lot lighter, not as heavy, more "watered down", but it was surprisingly better than those thicker curries because Bangkok Gardens' curry is one that you will not have a problem finishing and still feel good and satisfied after eating, vs. getting sleepy/itis after a lunch meal. We also had the lychee sticky rice. A very good twist on the classic mango sticky rice. Our wait staff, Annie, persuaded me to try the Thai Iced Tea, and I'm so happy she did! It was too sweet for my taste, so I told Annie and she brought me some cream on the side with extra ice cubes and I thinned out the Thai Iced Tea so it felt like I actually had the equivalent of two drinks and it made me feel like I really stretched my money = the food and everything was worth the high pricetag. I will take more of my friends and my family here for a delicious Thai meal! Thanks for all your help and for being such a lovely wait staff for us! All the best (:

Yelp
I was looking for a Thai or Chinese restaurant for dinner that was close by and I just happened to be near Bangkok Garden. The restaurant is very spacious and well decorated. It seemed pretty popular as there was already a crowd for an early Sunday dinner. I had the Pad-See-Ew and the serving size was much larger than expected. The food was great and the server was super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant after the movies and it was definitely a great place to wind down. The atmosphere and service was great. The entire aesthetic of the restaurant really elevated my dining experience. It felt like a zen garden with running fountain streams and great interior design. I would say if you like a beautiful restaurant to take your date, this is a great place! However, the food was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Pad Thai with a thai iced tea. I've made this exact order many times at other restaurants, but this time it was really below par. The Pad Thai tasted like almost artificial: the sauce was too sweet like ketchup, undercooked, and none of the ingredients blended together well. The Thai iced tea was also too sweet and as if it was made from artificial ingredients. The pad see ew my friend ordered was a little better but still does not have that authentic Thai taste. If you wanted to get some good Thai noodles, just go to Salad King down the street. However the aesthetic and atmosphere here was the best part, so if you are willing to compromise on taste for looks, this is a good choice.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my friend. She ordered a shrimp soup which was fresh. We shared the leave covered fish and beef curry (forgot their names), both were delicious. The service was great too. It's a good place to Thai food.

Yelp
This restaurant is pretty much a Toronto landmark and has been around for over 30 years! The food is authentic, with chefs from Thailand, and the service is gracious and welcoming. We like to come from their weekday buffet for $17.95 so we can try many of their dishes. The buffet offerings are similar each time we have visited. I'm glad they have descriptions on each of the dishes or there would be no way to remember them all. Buffet items: vegetarian Thai spring rolls, vegetarian crispy bites, chicken wings, glass noodle salad, mango & jicama salad, green leaf salad, vegetarian red curry, eggplant tofu, vegetarian pad thai, vegetarian anytime noodle, vegetarian stir-fry, sriracha chicken, spicy fish, yellow curry with chicken, green curry with pork, noodle bar - choose your noodle, protein, broth and toppings, sweet potato & banana fritters, cassava, fresh fruit, rambutan The food is perfectly spiced with a balance of spicy, salty, sour and sweet. I love spicy food but my wife prefers it on the milder side. The green curry is perfect for her, and some of the dishes are mildly spiced. This makes sense because not every one's palate is the same. I find it's much easier to add heat than take it away. The curries are very flavorful with the addition of Thai basil, kaffir lime leaves and coconut milk. I really enjoy the noodle bar, and usually order the rice noodle with fish, shrimp, beef balls and extra dried chili and coriander. One of my wife's favorite Thai desserts is mango with sticky rice. She makes it at home, but it can be time consuming and it's not a dessert you can eat a lot of. I called in advance and requested it for the buffet and the kitchen staff were very happy to oblige. Thanks Bangkok Garden!

Yelp
Didn't know what to expect but was super surprised at both the quality of the food and the excellent service by Kala. Kala was so attentive and provided me with guidance on my choice of meal. she is what made this experience so speciaL. I highly recommend the Pad Thai... however all the dishes looked fantastic. Two thumbs up!!

Yelp
Summerlicous 2023. Food was soso. Service was rushed and not once did they ask if we would like another drink.

Yelp
No flavour in the food. Service excellent. Good location. Ok ambiance. Right next to the spa.

Yelp
Overall: The food waa decent at best. I felt like I was paying a bit more for some fancy alterations of traditional Thai food, but I'd rather have the original kind at a more fair price. Location: Downtown very close walk from either college or dundas subway station. Price: Summerlicious menu was $33 for dinner. Food: Appetizers 1. The crispy wings were delicious. They were very crispy but not too oily, and the top part of the wings were stuffed, so no bones to pick out. 2. The crab tom yum really didn't suit my taste. It was very sour and quite runny. The dumplings were super thin and I barely tasted the crab. Mains 1. The Red Curry Duck had very good curry flavor. It was quite spicy. The duck breasts were pretty tough to chew though. 2. The Thai garlic fish came with a surprisingly large piece of fish. It was made very crispy and had a very nice sauce. The only issue was it didn't come with any veggies, and eating a huge piece of fish with rice was a bit heavy. Dessert 1. The Thai tea panna cotta was very tasty and unique. 2. The mango sticky rice was unfortunately disappointing. There were only tiny sprinkles of diced mangoes. The mangoes were also the sour, hard type which didn't compliment the sticky rice. They also added ice cream and whipped cream to it, but it was a bit much. I think I would've preferred a nice wholesome mango on top of sticky rice.

Yelp
Came here during Toronto's Summerlicious! You could get lunch for $23 dollars with an appetizer, entree and dessert. However, I was hoping to have a better experience compared to the previous yelpers who have been here. But that was not the case... The service was poor and our waiter disregarded us several times. The food itself wasn't anything special, therefore I didn't bother taking pictures of anything. I was quite disappointed because most restaurants in the heart of downtown Toronto usually have flavourful dishes and great experience. Bangkok Garden was not one of them. There are many other places for great Thai food in Toronto!

Yelp
We came here for lunch Buffet. They have one section for cold dishes: glass noodle salad, mango Jicama salad, fresh roll, chicken wings, Thai spring rolls. For the hot dish, they serve spicy fish option, Thai, and different types of curry such as with chicken. My favourite is the soup noodle station, you can select your own topping such as fish balls and other herbs, garlic, vinegar and the noodle between the rice noodle and egg noodle. The rice noodle taste better but sometimes I just ask for the soup with the fish balls so I can save room to eat other things.

Yelp
A friend of mine took me out to brunch today. Thanks suggested Bangkok restaurant. I used yo yo there about 25 years ago. Recently, on BlogTo I saw their menu. They were offering all you can eat menu for $24.00. The decor has not changed much. The owners are different now. I was really looking forward to the experience and the price looked pretty good. The menu was not what I had expected it to be. I was expecting a buffet with food. It waxed not. There was a preset menu, but it was rather limited. You could order as many items as you wanted. The menu suggested that you order no more than 4 items and than reorder. At the bottom of the menu, in small print there was a warning that you had to finish everything on the plates ordered or you would be charged a full price. We ordered only 3 items to see what the good was like. Red curry soup arrived in a very small dish. It looked inviting. Sadly, it did not measure up to my previous experience at the restaurant. It was rather watery and did not have all the required favours that one expected from this famous restaurant. Sadly, it was a great disappointment to me today. The food was not what I remembered it to be in the day before it changed hands. The menu pictures were very inviting. The actual food lacked the finesse that I remembered. I was expecting robust flavours that Thai cuisine is famous for. They were not there. The salt was MIA. The chillies were not prominent. We're I expected coconut cream I found coconut milk. The spicy fish was n-eatable, the batter was hard as a rock and not tasty. Maybe it was cooked long ago. I had to tell the waitress how bad it was. The batter is supposed to be light and tasty. Vegetable fried rice was light on taste as well as vegetables. Chicken wings were sub par. Even their famous spring rolls were just ok. The sweet duck sauce was house made and was just ok. All in all, a big disappointment. Very disappointed!!! Would not recomend.

Yelp
I do not understand why people would leave a negative review. I have personally travelled to Thailand multiple times and love Thai food. This has to be the most authentic Thai food in Toronto. We devoured the food so quickly I forgot to take photos of them. The rainbow trout and the red curry sauce that comes with it is phenomenal. I personally think that the food here has the right amount of spice and flavour. (Although the Tom Yum can be more spicy) 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
As an old customer who used to come here a lot, I can say their all you can eat buffet is nothing close to the one before covid. Options are extremely limited. And I'm not sure if they changed their chefs, almost everything is tasteless. No more different kinds of curries, customizable noodle bar. They need more stuff too, there are only a few people on the floor. Many customers were waiting to be seated for a long time. The only few good points are the vibe, and $24 price for AYCE. I really missed the old buffet here.

Yelp
I came here with my boyfriend for the winterlicious special, it was $28 for dinner per person. When we first enter the place looked like they were empty, but they lead us to the back and it was quite full. The decor and interior was really nice. There were two floors and two servers per floor. For appetizers we ordered the calamari and the chicken spring rolls. The calamari was a bit soggy and the spring roll was decent. They came at a reasonable amount of time. Main course however took a very long time. It took us an hour,I've seen other ppl get their orders quicker than us. I ordered the shrimp pad Thai and my boyfriend ordered the goat Currey. Because of the delay the manager gave us shrimp cocktail s, however my bf does not eat shrimp. I thought it was nothing special. My order was alright, the portions are big and they did not skimp out on the shrimp. However I would say it's only slightly better than Thai express but definitely not worth the 1 hr wait nor the price. For the goat currey, the taste was just okay nothing special. My boyfriend did say the rice was hard, I took a bite and agreed. The rice was either old rice or it wasn't cooked properly. As for the dessert, they came at a reasonable manner, I got the cassava cake and the boyfriend got the white chocolate rice pudding. I tried both and thought it was mediocre, nothing special . It's like something you can get at the Asian supermarkets .

Yelp
We got to try this place as part of the Exotic Escape package with Elm Wood Spa. It comes with a 4 course meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience, service was very attentive and friendly. We ordered the shrimp spring rolls, calamari to start. We also tried the mango salad, which was perfectly portioned. Super yummy! For the mains, we ordered the Emerald Curry with Chicken and the grilled lemongrass chicken. The grilled lemongrass chicken was by far the best dish, perfectly seasoned and flavourful! For dessert, we tried the Coconut Crème Brûlée and Bangkok Coconut Cream which we're both really good. But the Bangkok Coconut Cream really takes the win. Unfortunately, they didn't have Thai Iced Tea, but we opted to order lychee and mango juice instead. We're usually skeptical when buying juice, but it was definitely worth it.

Yelp
Came here for Winterlicious dinner last night and once again was extremely satisfied with the quality of the food, the service, and beautiful venue. Btw Bangkok Garden is one of the only Winterlicious restaurants with a fully vegan menu option. I started with the Tom Yum shrimp soup - 5/5 for taste! Omg I've had Tom Yum soups at a couple of other Thai places on Yonge street before and each time I left the broth untouched essentially because there was so MSG and tasted so artificial. I was very happy with the soup base here as it had a hint of coconut milk, which added creaminess and depth. My only complaint was how small it was! My friends also enjoyed their sausage and fried chicken appetizers. The vegan main, a red curry containing squash and soft tofu, was disappointingly small, but ohhh so very flavourful and creamy with the addition of coconut milk again. I was so jealous of my friends' Khao Soi, which had an abundance of chicken and veggies. Dessert was simple, but amazing. Order the vegan option even if you are not vegan as the rice crackers option was kind of underwhelming. The vegan sticky rice had bananas and black beans and was so aromatic and heavenly. Remember to top it generously with coconut milk... So frickin delicious. Overall my only disappointment was how small the portions were for Winterlicious and it makes you wonder whether paying $33 might have been a bit ridiculous. However, it also goes to show how amazing the food was-- just couldn't get enough of it!

Yelp
Had such high expectations for this spot based on how much I drooled just looking at the summerlicious menu. Listen. I love Thai food but this did not do it for me. I got the spring veggie rolls for the app. It was very basic. Good but plain, you can get it anywhere. In fact you can get better ones at salad king down the street. Entrée - curry pad Thai with vegetables. Uh.... this kind of reminded me of old socks. Very little flavour with lots of sodium. I picked at it until I ate all the tofu and veggies. The pad Thai used these glass noodles that are like, a dollar at any Chinese supermarket. Not a fan and did not finish. Dessert - I had this sticky rice thing and it came with this weird egg texture looking thing with the tiniest bit of coconut milk dripped on it. Unappetizing- I didn't want it after two bites. I took the boyfriend's dessert, some chilli chocolate mousse and it was really good! Not light like regular mousse and had the spicy kick (the white people beside me were gulping water because it was too spicy lmao) but I liked it a lot. Oh! Cocktails wise, we got the cucumber gin & tonic and the piña colada. Pina colada was too sweet and too little rum. Highkey probably would not go here again but it's not 1 star. Super good service and very sweet. It was really slow though and we waited forever and it wasn't even packed. The place is gorgeous as well, bf said it looked like "an Asian keg" Wasn't a fan of the food and would probably go to salad king instead.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai restaurant in toronto. I've been visiting this restaurant for years. Ever since my high school days. I love the food here and the service is extremely friendly. The decor is really nice, the place is pretty dim and romantic. Good place for a date. Food here is pretty good. Their Tom yum soup is on point. It's not too sour and not too spicy. As for the dishes I usually order. I usually get the seafood friend rice. This dish is extremely delicious. There is plenty of seafood in the dish. The flavor is good. I would definitely recommend it if you like seafood If you like curry, the curry here is also pretty good. They are creamy and strong. Complements the rice well.

Yelp
Came here for the buffet and I really enjoyed it. Just enough selection and they even have a great selection of vegetarian dishes. Really loved the pad Thai and the green curry. So good! Also enjoyed the make your own soup. Definitely would come back here again

Yelp
We came here for a work function lunch, and it being my first time visiting Bangkok Garden, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious their food was. We had the buffet lunch, and although there isn't much variety as compared to most other buffets, it's one of the few buffets I've been to where every single dish was delicious and flavourful. The noodle bar is a great feature, but be warned, they don't hold back on the spice! Our servers were extremely attentive and kept our glasses full and whisked our empty plates away faster than I can notice - not an easy feat for a party of 30. The only two downsides: 1) the buffet empties out extremely quickly. From the moment I got there to my revisits for more food, all of the trays were pretty much empty. More than one occasion I scraped at the trays to get the last bit of pad thai or rice, which is disappointing because like I said, the dishes were all very well made and I would have liked the opportunity to try more. 2) we had some issues with the booking. Our original reservation somehow got cancelled, and it wasn't until one of us called a couple of days before to confirm, that we were informed that our reservation did not exist. They offered us a new reservation for 1:30pm (instead of the original 11:30am) and luckily most of us were able to make this new time. The manager was very apologetic upon our arrival and offered us a group discount for the trouble, which was very nice. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I look forward to returning for the lunch buffet.

Yelp
Food was pretty good! A little expensive for what we ordered though. Probably would only go again if I was going with company that insisted on going there ALLERGIES: be careful with your order for allergies. Went and mentioned that I had a peanut allergy but when my dish came out it still had peanuts on it so we had to send it back. Wasn't too pleased with that

Yelp
This is a decent restaurant with some good food and modern dimly lit decor. It's a short walk from Eaton Centre so it's a good option for dinner after shopping. This review is for the Winterlicious menu. We had the Thai calamari and coconut mussel soup for appetizers. The portions are quite small and the calamari was crispy if a bit on the greasy side. It was good but the coconut soup was better. The soup was creamy with a hint of sourness. It was satisfying. The sriracha bbq pork was disappointing. It barely tasted of either sriracha or barbeque. It was almost tasteless. The crispy fish with red curry was so good, however. I'm not usually one for spicy dishes but this was so good that I had to keep eating it, though my mouth was slightly burning. I'd go back to eat just that. The warm white chocolate rice pudding barely tasted of white chocolate. It's basically just rice pudding, and it was okay. The cassava cake was also forgettable. It came in three tiny cubes and it was drier than it should be. My mother makes this cake and it was far from my standards. Ah well, I still really enjoyed the fish.

Yelp
WINTERLICIOUS REVIEW Flavour of food is okay, portions are small and service isn't the greatest. FOOD We went for their $33 dinner menu. The majority of the winterlicious menu cannot be found on their usual a la carte menu. I had ordered the Shrimp Pakora appetizer - 3 small pieces that consisted of more batter than shrimp. Given, it tastes good but significantly smaller than a typical appetizer. Next I ordered the Crispy Jungle Fish - the fish was seasoned but it was nowhere near crispy. Did they intend for the green beans to be the crunch of the dish because they were on the cusp of undercooked? Lastly, I had the Banana Fritter - 1 piece of banana with a scoop of coconut ice cream. The best part of the meal.. SERVICE They cleared our dishes and brought out the next plate quickly. However, they didn't refill the water until the end of the meal. They brought out the bill while we were still eating (if there was a lineup of people then I would understand but there were plenty of empty tables left). The staff don't seem warm and pleasant - felt like they were there to do their job, nothing more and nothing less. After we finished our meal, we showed them a plastic piece that was found in one of our desserts (Upside Down Cheesecake). We just wanted to let them know to be careful in the future but they didn't even offer a "sorry". Instead, they tried to convince us that it was on the outside of the dish and not in the food (yet it was pulled out of the mouth). Overall, I wouldn't come back for their winterlicious or summerlicious menu. I have come here a few years ago for their lunch buffet and thought it was good. Best bet is to come for their lunch buffet since the a la carte and buffet seem to be the same quality of food. And the buffet is only ~$18.

Yelp
This place is beautiful! I loved the ambience, decor, and service was nice too. We decided to walk over from union station and it's pretty easy to find, just west of Yonge on Elm street. The restaurant is adjacent to a spa so you can book a package too if you ever feel like. The food is well seasoned and not overtly spicy. You can ask for a higher or lower spice level. We ordered a chilly beef stir-fry and a green curry with chicken. Both dishes were delicious! Price's aren't too high either so worth the visit and I'm definitely coming back!

Yelp
Likely one of the best for Pad Thai in Toronto. It's a sweet version, not the street kind served in so many places. Big tiger shrimp, lots of chicken and the flavours are fresh and vibrant. The shrimp spring rolls are delicious but watch out for cut up tooth picks. Good wine selection particularly appropriate for sweet and spicy Thai food. Service is professional and knowledgeable. The room is well appointed with soft woods and gentle decor.

Yelp
This is for the lunch buffet only. I went there for what they call "Lunch buffet", I'm sorry but i have to use the word GARBAGE to describe it. First impression: almost everything was empty. Second: the food selection is so poor that i just need a quick look to memorize ALL what they have. In case you wonder what they have , here is the menu that i can recall : stir fry vegetables, fish curry, vegetarian pad thai, vegetarian spring rolls, stir fry pork, chicken curry, siracha wings, mango salad, noodles salad, noodle bar has imitation shrimp balls, imitation fish balls beef balls , shredded chicken breast is the only real protein they have in the noodles bar, the chicken broth is good, for dessert they have bite size cupcakes, coconut jello, deep fried banana, fresh fruit ( about 3 varieties of cheap fruit). This gotta 95% if not 100 of the menu. They didn't refill the food as regular as they should, they waited until the pan was emptied. I swear to god , this is the WORST buffet I've ever had in my entire life , i was so angry. How the food taste? Not too bad but nothing out of this world. I was so angry, but i have to thank you because you made me realize how good Mandarin is , for a dollar more, i get a 100 dish buffet including shrimp, mussels, beef, salmon ....

Yelp
First time here, so I tried the summerlicious menu. We got the crispy wings and tom yum soup to start. The wings were quite good; crispy, deboned, and stuffed with miscellaneous filling. The tom yum seemed simple and on the sour side, and the dumplings were nothing special. Next was curry duck and garlic fish. The curry was very tasty, the duck was cooked well, and the pineapple was a nice addition. Fried fish was a large portion, and the garlic sauce was an enhanced version of food court fare. Lastly, we got the thai tea panna cotta and the mango dream. The panna cotta was fairly nice, decent aesthetics and flavours, however it wasn't set very well so it was melty most of the way through. The mango sticky rice was disappointing--sparse tiny cubes of flavourless green mango, with some coconut (?) ice cream, and coloured rice. A terrible take on a classic. Please don't call it "mango dream" if mango isn't even a flavour in the dish. At the lowest price tier I wasn't expecting much, yet the overall experience was still underwhelming. Service was fast and friendly, so that's a plus! Perhaps their regular menu would do better for value?

Yelp
I came her for winterlicious with my partner to celebrate that he got a new job and it was an awful experience. My partner wanted to surprise me and made a reservation at 9:45 pm (he finishes work late). The restaurant called us to confirm our reservation, which we did. However, once we got to the restaurant we were informed that the restaurant closes at 10pm and that we had to order immediately as last call was at 9:45 pm. My partner and I were surprised... why wouldn't have a reservation at 9:45 if the restaurant closes at 10pm and why wouldn't they tell is in the phone when they called us to confirm the reservation? Anyway, we sat down and had to order our three course meal on the spot. The food was ok (if you want better Thai food fo to PAI). I ordered the Shrimp Pakora, Crab and shrip pad thai and the upside-down cheese cake. The crab from the pad thai was cold and unfortunately, the best part of the was the desert (as opposed to the actual meal). Anyway, what made the experience even worse is that we were clearly totally unwelcomed and were VERY rushed. The servers were cleaning all the tables while we were eating. The server came multiple times to let us know that the restaurant was closing. I understand that we went to the restaurant late. However the management is bad ... if you want your employees to leave by 10pm do not have a reservation open at 9:45.

Yelp
I was at Bangkok Garden last night with my husband and some friends for winterliscious. The food was ok but as soon as I got home I started to feel nauseas. I threw up the rest of the night, have terrible stomach pain and still have diarrhea from the meal. I got food poisoning from the food. I WILL NEVER EVER GO TO BANGKOK GARDEN AGAIN. I have a really strong stomach and have never had food poisoning before. I should have known better than to eat the food when it was presented to me. I ordered a seafood pad Thai and it has obviously been sitting around for awhile because the noodles were all clumped and stuck together like noodle does if it was left out too long. The problem with this is that there was beef and seafood on the plate so who knows how long that plate was sitting out for before it was served to me. Take a look at the soup that I was given. The sides of the bowl indicates that it has been sitting out and kept warm or something. But in this case, it sat out so long the soup actually began to dehydrate. I actually thought maybe this bowl of soup was someone else's. I should have known better because I paid for it hours later. Never again.

Yelp
I ordered from the restaurant via Foodora tonight. While the meal was good, the menu does not indicate that orders include rice, so I ordered some. I am not a big fan of plain, white rice. Since many people are low carb these days, it would be nice if they offered an option to include or not include rice, as well as the option to change the type of rice they would like to include in a meal (the restaurant has both white and brown as well as coconut versions of each). I would have given them four stars, but the rice thing was a mistake.

Yelp
Not exactly what one's palate would be treated to while in Thailand. So, this would be my first miss. Secondly, their wait staff seems to be extremely busy and needs a bit of a constant reminder of what I want. A touch too tedious to dine here and a bit off the taste mark.

Yelp
Came here again with my girlfriend to try their normal menu. Oh my. I think I'm in love (sorry babe). She opted for the tilapia (part of their special Coconut menu), while I ordered the grilled Cornish hen and lemongrass. They're not kidding when they say the Cornish hen is grilled to perfection. It was succulent and perfectly seasoned, and the spicy orange dipping sauce it came with complemented the dish very well. The tilapia was amazing too; I don't know what they put in the sauce, but it was addictive. We ended off our night with dessert: the Panko fried banana with coconut ice cream for her (again, off the special Coconut menu) and the mango panna cotta for me. I'm not really a fan of deep fried banana, but I quite enjoyed my choice. Though it can be a little too sweet for those who don't have a sweet tooth like me. Overall, I was thoroughly pleased with the experience. The food can be pretty expensive (I paid $60 for this meal), so I definitely wouldn't be coming here regularly, but if you're cognizant of the prices beforehand, you'll have a good time.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening at 7pm, it wasn't full but there were tables seated, the inside was lovely decorated. While waiting for the rest of the party I sat in the lobby and the lovely spa smells next door and tv were a great bonus while waiting haha I got the pineapple shrimp curry for $22, it was SPICY, i love spicy foods but this was extra spicy but delicious the curry was full of coconut milk flavour there were about 8-9 large sized shrimps in there with lots of pineapple chunks. The jasmine rice was also really delicious on its own and fragrant. I tried some of the "two friends" stir fry with chicken, beef and veggies and that was ok, not outstanding but not bad. Service was good, we were checked on twice throughout our meal and water was refilled, no problems. Overall, a good place for thai food and decent price for the central location and nice ambience.

Yelp
I couldn't edit my previous review. I am upgrading it to 4 stars as I can't stop thinking about the food at the lunch buffet even upto a week later. Yes the selection was small but the curries were amazing. I can't wait to go back!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Yelp
This is one of the best Thai restaurants in town. Try the lunch buffet of the a la carte for dinner. The mango salad is amazing and the curries, green Thai curry is one of the best!

Yelp
In spite of the rain last Friday, my inquisitive mind and insatiable appetite for Thai food insisted that I tried this place with all the conflicting reviews. AMBIENCE Upon entering you have an impression you left Toronto and went to an exclusive tropical hotel lounge. As the courteous staff guided me towards my reserved table, you can't ignore the captivating gesture of the minimal Thai art deco and the grandeur of the cozy space. The wooden chairs and granite tables harmonize with the huge bell-like lamps. A small pond with colourful coy fish located near the dining tables provide a sense of tranquillity. I have chosen to seat at a table with better vantage point, it's great to know that a small soft pillow is provided on the long couch. The mild and gentle background music sooths well with the elegant furnishings. It's particularly funny that the restrooms are located one level below. A patron needs to use the stairs and pass through all the doors. It's like playing in an elaborate labyrinth searching for a hidden treasure. Fortunately, there are visible directions to guide you. Looking at the bright side, this is a form of exercise to burn those calories. SERVICE Pass 12 noon the influx of patrons are increasing and noticed the following: 1) More patrons are forming a longer line on the buffet banquet 2) The buffet dishes are quickly diminishing which needs to be replenished 3) Most of the tables are left unattended and the used plates are not cleared since most of the staff are helping to replenish the food It's understandable that tables need to be cleared for the next patron, but the manner in which you clean makes a significant difference. It was both shocking and surprising that the waiters were cleaning the granite table besides me; quickly spraying and wiping with their white cloth. No patron wants any spray mist contaminating his or her food. Understandably, the waiters meant well and doing their job diligently, but this actually happened twice, one on my left side table and a few moments later, on my right side table...I was caught in between. It's an unfortunate and peevish encounter that no patron needs to endure. Just as suggestion, your waiters can be trained to be discreet and effective at the same time. Have them oppositely face the eating patron while clearing the other table. Their back is behind the person, so they won't contaminate the food with their cleaning spray. A personal thanks to Britwin Diaz, who promptly ensured that I received the replenished Thai Chili Seafood. Tip of the hat to Ali, he delivered a superb service on my table. Always ready to serve with a smile and enthusiatically answered all of my queries. FOOD (Please see the attached pictures) On the Buffet banquet, the tidy covered food warmers add more mystery on the dish. I started with Fresh Spring Rolls, Mango Salad and Thai fried Rolls. The Fresh Spring rolls almost looked like a simple California rolls, but it's actually bean sprouts, bean curd, red pepper, lettuce and parsley wrapped in soft and smooth paper rice. I relished the way the rice melts in you mouth while biting the crisp vegetables. I enjoyed the shredded firm mango mixed with parsley, red pepper, shallots and grind peanuts. The Fried rolls are crunchy yet not oily. I intentionally avoided the Thai sauces that goes with the appetizers; so as to taste its natural flavor. I reveled with the 3 Pagodas, the zucchinis and carrots are fresh and firm. It goes well with the mildly spicy coconut milk. Likewise, I enjoyed the Thai Omelette. The savory bean sprouts mixed with eggs are tasty and not salty. The Tamarind Beef deserves a special mention. The tender beef compliments with the roasted peanuts, potatoes, tamarind and coconut milk. I liked the Chili Seafood, a combination of the sauteed mixed vegetable with the mildly spiced tender shrimps. The Thai Street Noodle Bar is fully organized and tidy. I tried the chicken breast with, coriander, chives, garlic and roasted nuts poured over with chicken broth. A perfect warm soup for a rainy Friday. For the price of the Lunch Buffet, I have expectations that were not met: First of all, I have enjoyed other versions of Pad Thai in Asia, New York and Toronto. I was expecting more on what Bangkok Garden has to offer with this local staple food. It took me another plate just to determine what seems to be lacking. The noodles are a bit saggy; there are no sufficient eggs, and no bean sprouts (apparently finely cut cabbage was used as a substitute). Also, it taste less tangy and has less spice. Second, it's unfortunate and surprising that they are not serving any fish or squid on that day. Third, the Thai Noodle is too dry and not tasty at all. I have just tried their Lunch Buffet and fair enough to give them a benefit of the doubt. I would like to have the opportunity to try their dinner menu and experience what they have to offer.

Yelp
I was not sure by the 3 star rating, but I am glad I tried this place. The food was amazing. I started with the Tom Kha Gai soup and it was delicious. Very velvety in texture and with a great balance of flavours, and it is well served. The emerald curry was also astounding in the levels of flavours, the zing of the curry with the coconut milk and vegetables melts with the rice and gives the chicken a great push. I finished it even with the large portion I was served. The restaurant is cute, clean and thematic, almost too much with the water and multi levels but it does create an atmosphere. I don't know why it sports 3 stars, for me it's unwarranted. I'm coming back.

Yelp
I was here for their summerlicious dinner menu which was priced at 25$. The restaurant is very beautiful inside, not at all what I had expected when I was at the front door. This is what I had for the summerlicious dinner: Appetizer: Grilled Shrimp on Sugar Cane Entree: Pan Seared Duck Dessert: Mango Sorbet I was not a fan of the grilled shrimp on sugar cane. I had previously seen a picture of what this looked like and imagined the texture to resemble shrimp when cooked. It was mushy. It was actually a shrimp mixture, but not just the herbs added, it felt like there was some cheating involved, like flour or batter was used. To me, it was not a good mix as it made the final product mushy upon biting. Pan seared duck was also disappointing. At first sight the plate looked like it was going to be the best dinner entree from their summerlicious menu (based on the volume of meat given on the plate). Upon eating the duck however, I retracted my opinion, as I had a terrible time trying to chew through the hard/tough pieces of meat. This is duck done wrong! In addition, they don't have any knives for guests to use... so I had to grind through a whole tough slice in my mouth. The tamarind sauce was good though. And finally mango sorbet. It was pretty good. It was really just sliced fruits and a scoop of mango sorbet. Tasted sweet and tangy. It was good. In my opinion the summerlicious menu did not seem very thai... maybe fusion. Overall though the portions are quite good. I left very full. I did not appreciate, however, that our server came with one bill, and refused to give us separate bills when requested.

Yelp
Tons of gluten free choices, separate kitchen space and woks for cooking gluten free food, knowledge about cross-contamination. In addition to that - very tasty Thai food and great service and decor. We really liked it there and will be back for more.

Yelp
I came here for lunch with co-workers recently. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks from the street and they are great for accommodating large groups. The ambiance is fancy-ish. Overall, it's A-OK. Service was fine and they were good at suggesting options for 2 vegan co-workers (veggie "anytime noodles", and a veggie curry dish). They did encourage everyone to just get the buffet, probably because it's less work for them. I think its' around $16 per person. I got the buffet just because I was super-hungry and didn't want to wait. The selection was quite good. My favourite was actually the make-your-own-noodle-soup station. You get a small bowl of broth and they put in rice noodles, chilis, vegetables, and whatever meat or seafood you like. I just got chicken, but there was fish, shrimp, and some other choices. The rest of the buffet was decent, but not great -- it's hard to make buffet food very good. Still, the veggie cold rolls and mango chicken weren't bad. I'm not sure if I would return (for Thai food in the area, I'd prefer Salad King), but for this kind of work function, it fit the bill.

Yelp
They have a fairly affordable lunch buffet, but the quality of food isn't the best. Highlights/lowlights: Red vegetable curry - very very watery. It just tastes spicy but doesn't have flavour. It lacks the creaminess and coconut aroma of thai curry. Pad thai - I can't figure it what it is, but it's missing something. A bit more tamarind maybe? It just didn't taste quite right. Vegetable bites - probably my favourite dish. It kind of reminds me of a vegetable pakora. And lets face it, you can't really screw up something that's deep fried I guess... Mango salad - decent taste and a lot of mango Banana fritters - maybe it's because they were out at the buffet bar, but the "crispy" outside of the banana fritter was kind of mushy and not fresh. They also have a noodle soup bar, which I was too full to try. I also wish they had mango sticky rice on the menu. Their dessert selections were not great. Overall, I wouldn't come here again. There really was nothing that stood out at their buffet, so I'm skeptical that any dish made to order will be better. There are much better Thai restaurants in Toronto now which are more worth the money and calories.
