This restaurant is quite well known and has been around for many years. I’ve driven past it countless times and always wanted to try it, so finally having dinner here felt long overdue. Overall, the experience was fairly decent.
There’s a large parking area next to the restaurant since it’s located along a wide, flat lane, and a staff member helps guide scooters into place. Inside, the restaurant has three floors. Cleanliness is what you’d expect from a typical Vietnamese street-style place: Barely acceptable, and nothing impressive. You can move between floors either by stairs or elevator. When we arrived, both the first and second floors were completely full, so we were seated on the third floor. That alone says a lot about how popular the place is and how fast the customer turnover can be.
Once seated, the staff brought us a menu with pictures. You can also order directly from the menu boards printed on the walls. The restaurant offers several combo options, which suggests they mainly cater to large groups. We ordered individual dishes with drinks instead, and the food arrived after about ten minutes.
The taste was fine overall, with a strong seafood focus and a few hits and misses. The soup leaned slightly sweet, with a creamy, egg-like texture. You’ll probably want to add some seasoning from the table to boost the flavor. Portion-wise, there isn’t much difference between sizes except for the largest one, which almost gives you an entire crab, otherwise, it’s mainly just quantity. Our bowls were filling, and while the price is closer to a family-style restaurant than a cheap street stall, it felt reasonable for what we got.
There are live seafood tanks right at the entrance, which helps reassure you about the freshness. Overall, I’d give this place around a 3.5-star rating. I do knock it down slightly due to the average cleanliness and somewhat rushed service caused by the heavy customer traffic.
