I used to notice that the shop charged extra for takeaway boxes and for cutting the banh mi in half, but those fees are now waived. This willingness to listen to customer feedback is truly commendable.
I ordered the banh mi with char siu pork, pâté, butter, and pork floss, meaning there was no cold cuts or Vietnamese ham. Personally, I prefer this version as it feels lighter and less greasy. Since I ordered quite early, the pickles only included white daikon, but the shop was generous with scallions. A nice detail is that their scallions are not pungent at all. There were fewer cucumbers and chilies, but overall the vegetables and pickles were fresh.
Overall, the banh mi was flavorful and generously filled. The char siu pork was well balanced, neither too fatty nor too lean and dry. The portion size is not overly large, but it is satisfying enough that even hearty eaters can easily finish one whole sandwich.
