Warning! This bank will rob you blind then make you feel like an ass for trusting them with your money.
I've been banking with this bank for almost 15 years. At first I thought it was awesome I had a personal account and everything was great. Then I thought it was even more awesome because after jumping through all the hoops for having my own business, I opened a business account here.
Everything was going great.
Then covid. And my parents both have terminal cancer, so I went to go care for them during covid, on the mainland and have been there taking care of them for 4 years.
On my way off the island, I went to the bank personally (on Kapiolani) and updated my address and everything before I left.
Or so I thought. For some reason the bank didn't apply my address change to both my accounts, so for 4 years the bank has been deducting $10 from my business account every month until they drained it dry then they closed it.
Insult to injury, they've been sending my banking information to whomever is living at my last address, so I never received the notifications about the account, (but someone did)....
BUT they managed to send the Account Closure mail to the right address, as well as other banking info. Hmmm....
How is this possible? Selective mailing to benefit the bank? This smells fishy. Someone made a mistake at the bank and now I'm getting totally shafted.
Now they are telling me that they can't recover the funds or reopen my account.
I thought that banks were where you kept your money to keep it safe from robbers. I didn't realize that the bank would steal all my money when I was taking care of my terminally ill parents on the mainland.
WTF???
At least the woman at the counter today, Michelle, at the Lewers branch is trying her best to help me, and that's nice, but honestly I'm so bent out of shape that its hard to keep a positive attitude while sitting here waiting for bad news about my mangled accounts.
Go here at your own risk, but be sure to cover all your tracks two or three times
