This was my first stay at the Bank Lodge. I knew it was going to be basic accommodation, but I was pleasantly surprised how good it actually was; in a central location too. Firstly we had arrived early in Fort William and the Lodge let us store our bags with them until we could get in our room. We had booked a twin room with a private shower/toilet and found that this was opposite our room across the corridor. As it happened this was not a problem at all and the Toilet and Shower room was quite spacious, with complimentary shower gel and was very good to use. The room was as expected, but it was fine for what we wanted and we had complimentary Tea/Coffee making facilities. I would point out that our room had a Smart TV and previous guests had left their details logged in to the various streaming sites. Be aware! The Lodge staff were very friendly and helpful and we would certainly return here when we come back to Scotland. The lodge doesn't do breakfast but there are plenty of places in Fort William where you can pick up something (the station cafe was our favourite). We found that the room was quite warm in the evenings and the Window only slanted open a little. Then on the last day we found that doing the handle a different way completely opened it!🙄

Bank lodge is very basic but our room Was spotless, linen good and clean. The people at reception were super friendly. There is a drying room and communal Lounge area. It's not fancy but it's perfect for a good nights sleep after a long day walking, and it's so close to the station and town. We will definitely use again when back in fort William! Considering most accommodation prices in Fort William, this is a bargain!

The hotel is quite basic, but it had everything we needed. It was clean and the staff were very friendly. I felt comfortable and relaxed here. The hotel is situated in the heart of Fort William, so it was perfect for us to explore the town. I would recommend it.

First, if you have big bags or a lot of bags, I recommend taking a car or a taxi there since the hotel is on a hill so you would have to walk up a slope with those bags for a hot minute. It's in a very good location, less than a 2 minute walk away from the shopping street and less than a 15 minute walk away from the supermarket (Morrisons). The room was clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I noticed that the mugs and the coffeemaker weren't cleaned and were a little dusty but the front desk made sure to get me clean new mugs when I asked for it. The neighbors were loudly banging around their room doors but that can't be controlled so I highly recommend bringing good noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs if you have sensitivity to noises when sleeping. It was a all in all a good experience.

I’m very satisfied. I stayed there for 8 days and used it as a base for exploring Scotland. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the bedding was changed frequently. My room had a shower and a toilet. I had seen some negative reviews before — people complaining about creaky floors or noise — but some folks will always find something to moan about. You come to places like this to explore, to go hiking, and for that, this hotel is excellent in my opinion.

This lodge is a nice slice of Scotland, not a cookie cutter, could be anywhere hotel; it feels more like you are staying at someone’s home. Great location near all the shops and restaurants of Fort William, a great place to sleep after hiking up Ben Nevis (yes, I did that!), or taking a ride on the Jacobite, or just enjoying this quaint village. It’s not ritzy, but it’s home. The basics are there, and it’s a great bargain versus some of the other places in town. An extra long table by the door would have helped a lot, as there are not a lot of places to put things. No AC, but you rarely need that in Scotland. I was perfectly comfortable. The bed was, eh, a bed. Not the most comfortable, but it did not prevent me from falling asleep each night. I liked my stay very much, and if ever in Fort William again, I would most certainly consider staying there.

Clean, spacious rooms in an establishment close to the train station, but in a quiet street. It is also very near the high street with an ample choice of restaurants and cafés. Most important was a warm welcome when we arrived after 19.00 on a Sunday.

The hotel is in an excellent location, and our room was well-appointed with a good-sized bathroom and very comfortable bed. On-site parking was also a bonus. The street was nice and quiet. We would definitely come and stay again. Many thanks!

Yelp
True to its marketing description as "comfortable and affordable," this hostel-turned-hotel certainly doesn't have many frills. What it may lack in "luxury" accommodation, however, is certainly made up for in location, being just around the corner from the main drag of shops and restaurants in Fort William. Of note, the car park is quite small, with only about 6-8 spots. Guests can access the public parking lot across the street for free overnight from 8pm-8am, but must pay the going rate during the daytime hours. Also of note, there is no elevator, and the floorboards in the hallways are quite squeaky!

Yelp
Spectacularly poor service, even for a flop house, which is what this is - there are many places to stay in Fort William, and you should only stay at Bank Street if you're quite sure all your options have been foreclosed. I won't go into detail about the behavior of the staff, but suffice it to say that most every Scot I've met has been warm, kind, hospitable and friendly, and with the exception of Lou at the front desk, Bank Street Lodge seems to have found the dregs and put em all on staff.

Yelp
I'm not sure how all rooms look like, so this review is with regard staying in a (non-shared) room with two beds; one single and one double. Including toilet/shower. The Bank Street Lodge feels like something in-between a cheap hotel and a hostel. There is a common room with tables and TV, and there is a shared kitchen. The kitchen is extremely tiny, it would be small for a regular flat but now it serves the whole hostel. You can cook food in the kitchen and put stuff in the fridge/cooler (but it is pretty occupied, since yet again, it is just a normal fridge for the whole hostel). Reception is staffed 24/7 and you can also lend a key to a drying cabinet (also pretty full be the end of the day when everybody is back from their day-hike). Pretty much all guests are there for hiking. Room gets the bed made with clean sheets and new towels every day, this is really nice and is indeed not something you get at a hostel. Location is excellent for hiking. The end of the West Highland Way is just a short walk down the street as well is Ben Nevis and a few other munros. Both bus and train connections are excellent to get to other places to start hiking. Overall, I would totally recommend the Bank Street Lodge if you want to up the quality of living a notch from a hostel, but not fully all the way to a B&B. If they only had a slightly bigger kitchen I would give Bank Street Lodge a four star rating considering what you get for the price.

Yelp
Was a decent one-night stay for the price. Nice common area, and great location overall. We ended up being the only people in our room, which was cool, except the heater didn't work very well. We asked and there was no fix, so we just bundled up. Staff was friendly enough.

Yelp
Stayed here after bagging a few peaks of the WaterAid 6 Peaks Challenge. Didnt stay very long due to the nature of the challenge, thusly only had about a 2 hour nap on a bunk in a sleeping bag. The front desk lodge manager was kind enough to let us use a room outside of the lodging that was warm enough to dry out all of our wet clothing. This helped quite a bit for the next peaks ahead.
