Is ResortPass Worth It? An Honest Review - AFAR

"A family-oriented cabana pool day experience that included an indulgent brunch and afternoon tea—pastries, waffles, coffee, juice, and a congee rice porridge topped with shrimp—plus a tray of fruit and sweet and savory snacks; splurging on the added brunch brought the total to about $500, though there are simpler, lower-cost options for basic pool access." - Katherine LaGrave, Chloe Arrojado

Hidden Gem in Napa Valley – A Truly Special Stay Staying at this small business-owned Thai hotel in Napa Valley was one of the most memorable experiences we've had. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and gracious hosts, who have poured so much love and care into every detail of this incredible property. The setting is absolutely stunning – perched in a serene part of the valley with sweeping views that make you want to just sit and soak it all in. The hotel itself feels more like a private home than a hotel. It’s intimate, peaceful, and beautifully curated with authentic Thai antiques that make each space feel both soulful and unique. Very much our vibe. Breakfasts were a highlight—delicious Thai flavors and incredibly fresh local fruit, served with warm, attentive hospitality (didn’t catch his name but the man serving breakfast 4/13 was a joy). The pool and hot tub area was so lovely that we often skipped dinner plans just to relax under the stars.

I had been wanting to visit Bann for years, and finally chose to spend nearly $500 to stay for my birthday. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to my hopes. When they asked what time I’d be arriving, I informed them — and the response was simply “ok.” That was my first indication of the basic, disengaged level of service. The rooms themselves are beautiful, but they tell a story more of dreams and care that once were, rather than anything currently alive. The snack options available for purchase felt thoughtless: basic processed items like Doritos — a disappointing and stereotypical nod to unhealthy American choices, especially in a region so abundant with fresh, local offerings. They did have tea snacks which were decent, but nothing compared to the photos they show online their website. I had most been looking forward to breakfast, but it was perhaps the biggest letdown. While the fruit was cut into fun shapes, the quality was noticeably poor — definitely not local or organic. They served Smucker’s jam for the toast, despite being surrounded by local farms producing incredible preserves. Overall, the food quality felt just a notch above what I’d expect from a Costco bulk order. The room was not even close to similar set up at the photos on the website. I understand there’s an expected degree to the variety, but I would not have paid for that specific room we were given. Adding to the discomfort, as two women — one recovering from hand surgery — we received no offer of help unloading our luggage from the male attendant. Overall, it was a very sore and expensive disappointment. The love and care that maybe once infused Bann is no sadly longer there.

I’m staying at Bann at Oak Knoll, the most beautiful accommodation in Napa. This stunning retreat embodies the elegance and intricacy of traditional Thai design, something incredibly rare to find in America. The architecture showcases exquisite Thai craftsmanship, from the gracefully carved wooden details to the traditional rooflines that echo the charm of Thailand’s heritage. Every corner of the house feels like stepping into a serene Thai sanctuary, with ornate decorations, vibrant textiles, and intricate patterns that bring warmth and authenticity. The delicate balance of traditional Thai aesthetics with modern comfort makes it a perfect place for relaxation and celebration. Tonight, it’s all set for a party in this enchanting space, where the beauty of Thai culture meets the vibrant atmosphere of Napa. Whether it’s the lush gardens, the serene ambiance, or the beautiful Thai-inspired interiors, Bann at Oak Knoll is truly a hidden gem that offers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Had a great weekend staycation at Bann Napa. Room was clean and spacious, great service and the breakfast was amazing! Dog friendly, our puppy had a great time too. Easy drive to downtown Napa and other areas.

A lovely small boutique hotel in the midst of vineyards, Bann is a cozy home away from home as the name suggests. The bed and bathroom are spacious for a couple, with comfortable seating arrangements. The L shape house lends itself to outdoor seating on the wooden |veranda looking out to the vineyards and the mountains beyond. Breakfast is coffee or tea with scrumptious |croissants and toasts with a variety of |fresh fruits followed by special Thai plates. Service is excellent. The place is serene and happy. totally recommended.

This is one of the best Bed and Breakfasts I have ever been to. The grounds are amazing, everything has a Thai style which makes you feel like you traveled to another place, right in the middle of wine country. The room we stayed in was spacious and beautifully decorated, also very short drive into downtown Napa and vineyards. The best highlight for us was the Thai breakfast/brunch, incredible flavor and locally sourced ingredients. Looking forward to coming back!

We stayed there for a weekend for our anniversary. The place is beautiful, in the middle of the vineyards and there are not a lot of rooms so it was very quiet. Our room was big, beautiful, the bathtub was spacious, it was very pleasant. The breakfast was really good as well, you have choice between several dishes that are homemade with fresh products. We paid $1555 for 2 nights, which is not cheap, and it’s a price we were ready to pay for such a nice occasion, in a place that called itself luxury. I just have a couple of things that I noticed and that are, according to me, not “luxury”: - The Twinings tea bags for breakfast, it’s not really good tea, it feels cheap and I would have liked to have a selection of high end tea. There was one good tea that was coming from Asia but it would be better to have a consistent choice with just good tea. - The jam in the small plastic container, this is the same jam you can find in motel breakfast or brunch place. It would have been nice to have homemade jam or jam from a fruits producer. - When we arrived at the pool, there were no clean towels, the dirty towels were still in the basket and someone changed them 2 hours after we arrived. According to me, this is something that should be done before the opening of the pool. Same for the cleaning: there were spider webs on the wooden structure where there is the couch to relax. - We stayed at the pool from 10am to 4pm, we just wanted to relax. We would have appreciated if someone would have come to us to ask if we were fine and if we wanted something to drink, like a juice. I don’t think it will cost a lot to the hotel to offer that and it’s something that elevate the experience and is more “luxury” service as we were expected from this place. Sorry for the long review! In the end we were satisfied and enjoyed the experience and maybe I’m too picky but when you pay this price and when the place claim to be luxury then everything has to be perfect.

My boyfriend and I are SO happy we chose to stay at Bann during our vacation to Napa. The grounds were well kept, the pergola was intimate and comfortable, and the rooms were gorgeous. The staff were so delightful and attentive to our every need/request. I could go on and on about the redeeming qualities of this place and the people who run it. The team at Bann made us feel right at home, and our stay there is a memory we will fondly reflect on for years to come. You can tell the team goes the extra mile for their guests, whether that's in the pristine refresh provided by the room service, or with the daily free and abundant 3-course breakfast (I'm still dreaming about their French toast). Their food is farm to table and uses local ingredients, and the courses are divine! We will absolutely be returning in the future, and look forward to spreading the word about Bann. The only downside to this hotel was the noise of cars driving by from roughly 5am-10pm. My boyfriend and I use earplugs to sleep, but if you don't, you may be bothered by this if you stay in a suite closer to the road. -Brandon and Mikayla White

Yelp
Set in the middle of an actual vineyard, Bann is truly something special. The grounds and room are all beautiful and serene. The staff is amazingly friendly and so accommodating. I really appreciated how roomy and comfortable the rooms are. The daily breakfast is absolutely spectacular. Hands down the best included breakfast I've experienced! Thanks to amenities like complimentary snacks/tea/coffee, plenty of parking (including EV charging), a nice outdoor pool and sauna...We will definitely be back to this gem of a place!

Yelp
We did a staycation the weekend before Christmas and NYE and loved it here. Plenty of parking and this is truly a perfect location to be in the mist of all the wineries and downtown. First off, it's extremely dog friendly. $45/dog per night. So we paid an extra $180 in dog fees, but they were one of the few places that allow two pups. There are only 5 rooms, so this place is extremely intimate. Breakfast is served daily from 9-10:30, you choose a time when you fill out the card. You're started off with a large basket of bread and fruit platter. The entrees were great, really enjoyed the porridge. Coffee was just okay, but you can choose if you wanted a latte/cappuccino/americano. The room was huge and extremely clean. The Nest central heater/AC kept the room at a perfect temperature. There were a few cons to the place, so I really couldn't give it 5 stars. My major complaint was that the shower smelled moldy and there was a lot of scum on the shower head and bathtub. Also, they don't have conditioner which I found really odd for a place you are paying over $700/night. They also did not serve the afternoon tea when we arrived. Lastly, during our last breakfast there I had the option to pay either by card, Venmo, or Zelle. I paid the gentleman through Zelle for the additional charges, however I went home I noticed my card was also charged. I had to call the front staff to inquiry about the charge. Guess he didn't tell anyone that I did indeed paid him? Otherwise, staff were really nice overall.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem in Napa! I spend the weekend here in Bann. The highlight of our staycation would be the 3-course Thai breakfast. The only cons I would say is that there is only one electric charging station. I would come back in the future.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem in Napa. The room I stayed in has an amazing soaking bath tub, full shower and spacious vanity area. The boutique nature of this property provides you with first class service. The morning breakfast with a view is like no other. The breakfast is delicious, made to order Thai food. There's also an American Breakfast option too, if that's what you're more in the mood for. The breakfast I ordered (Thai basil chicken) came with a huge cup of oat milk latte and the sweetest variety of seasonal cut fruits. There's also a Nespresso machine for your convenience if you're an early riser. There's also a Tesla charger for your use during your stay.

Yelp
I'm surprised this place wasn't busier than it was on our visit - this place is amazing! I made a reservation for brunch on my birthday here, and everything was so wonderful from beginning to end. I had to call to make a reservation, and from there they sent me a text with their brunch menu so that we could let them know of our entree orders ahead of time. FYI this place is easy to miss - if you are driving quickly you likely will miss it and have to turn back around to get here. There is no hostess stand when you arrive, but a worker was there to greet us right away. Our secluded table for two was set up and ready to go for us upon arrival. It was shaded with umbrellas, and our server made sure that we were under the shade during our visit that hot day. Service by the way was friendly, and he not only made sure we were shaded but not feeling rushed as well. He seemed happy to have us as guests and was wanting to find out how we had heard about this place. For our entrees we split the "Pan Eggs" Breakfast Thai-Style and Bann's Signature Crispy Waffle. It was a three-course menu ($59 per person plus tax and gratuity which are included in your bill) that started with their bread basket and fruit plate, followed by our entrees. For bread we were served croissants and brioche. I just ate one croissant because we were going to have more bread (waffle), and I must say it was delicious! If not watching my figure I would have eaten more, plus the brioche. I love fruits and ate a good amount of it that we were served. As for our entrees - delicious! After our meal, we walked around the grounds, which were absolutely beautiful and peaceful. There were several nooks I could find myself relaxing with a book in if I were staying at the resort, and they were all empty at the time. The pool area though had people in it. There was only one other party who had a meal there during our visit. The only thing lacking was something to acknowledge my birthday, if even a happy birthday sign on the fruit platter. (I made a note on my reservation and was wearing a happy birthday sash lol.) Still, it was a very good experience overall and I highly recommend Bann Oak for a special meal.

Yelp
O. M. G. Hate to share how amazing this gem is. What a beautiful place to escape to. The breakfast alone will ensure my return. The property is gorgeous. Rooms were 10/10 and i am picky. Cannot wait to visit again. Will be an annual trip now.

Yelp
I wanted to provide the most honest review of Bann. This is a beautiful cozy spot that charges ridiculously high prices for very basic service. I stay in 5 star accommodations across US and when going abroad. The price per night is on par with Bann's prices. At $1200+ per night, I really expected incredible service, in addition to the accommodations, but it was all pretty average. When we arrived, we were not greeted at all, not even a hello or welcome. Instead a woman holding a clip board asked us to fill in our breakfast selection for the next day. She showed us to our room which had double beds, even though we booked a single king room. She said well it's a bigger room so it's better -- ok. Then she said she was leaving, never offered our afternoon tea service. When I asked for it, she responded, you want afternoon tea? The afternoon tea service is just fine, nothing incredible and definitely not Napa quality items - ritz crackers with cheese slices. Pool was not heated, which others have mentioned. They have an open snack area with chips and cup noodles. Breakfast was very nice and the server was very kind. We met the Chef, which was a special opportunity to have. The room needed attention. There was lime/ soap scum on the gold hardware in both bath and shower. Light sconces in the bathroom were loose and moving. While these are small details, the cost really does set expectations of no flaws in the room. While all the IG stories and these 5 star reviews pulled me in, in the end, when paying that much, guests should be able to expect incredible service. This is Four Seasons level prices per night. What you get in reality is a bed and breakfast cozy feel without any extra touches. I want to be able to fully endorse an establishment founded by an Asian woman, but I simply do not think Bann is worth the price it demands.

Yelp
Made reservations for a bday brunch here and we had an AMAZING time. It's a 3-course brunch that starts with these freshly baked croissants and toast and fresh fruit bowl (all beautifully assembled). Croissants are to die for, possibly the best croissants I've ever had, warm, fresh, flaky, and soft (wish I had some right now!!!). I also had a cappuccino and the eggs Benedict. Members of my party had the other dishes on the menu: French toast, shrimp and chicken rice dish, Thai spaghetti, etc, all were so delicious. The ambiance here is amazing, we were seated at a beautifully set table with a view of the vineyard, so calm, serene, relaxing, we were all so happy to be there. Our waiter was great, he was super nice and made sure we were doing okay and had what we needed throughout the brunch. After the brunch we were given a tour of two of the rooms and got to walk around the property/garden. Rooms are gorgeous, feels like you're in Thailand. Property is beautiful with lots of places to sit and relax. Pool area looked nice too. They have a cute garden area and some swings for photos by the vineyard. Hope to stay here in the future and have the delicious brunch again and also hope to try the dinner next time!!! Would definitely recommend :)

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible. I felt the Thailand vibe! Everything about our stay was amazing. The gardens, the pool, the rooms and the delicious food. Breakfast every morning was exquisite! Our host, First, was unbelievably gracious! I cannot say one negative. It's a must stay!!

Yelp
Visited Bann over Mothers Day weekend and tried their brunch. This place is a gem. The food was so fresh and delicious. When seated you get fresh cut fruit and pastries to start. You could tell the fruit was cleaned and prepped well- great attention to detail in presentation. You pre choose the entree you'll have before arriving. The dishes were flavorful and comforting - you have to try if you like Asian food. Great portion sizes. The location itself is peaceful and quiet. I felt like we were in a Thai slice of heaven in the vineyards. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Their rooms are dog friendly so we will be staying here next time so we can try more food and enjoy their pool/sauna for a couple days.

Yelp
We had a wonderful 1-night stay at Bann, which translates to "home" or "house" in Thai. And it really felt as if you were staying at a wealthy Thai relative's picturesque home in the middle of wine country. The highs were that the property was gorgeous; the rooms are very comfortable spacious; and the afternoon tea and breakfast (especially the Thai-style options) were fantastic. Oh, and the bed was so comfortable! The pool was also a great bonus. The lows were that service could use improvement, and the property borders a relatively busy street (especially rooms 1 & 2). So, it could be noisy when cars go through. Service was slightly too casual for what presents as a high-end B&B. You had to track down a staff member if you needed something, and breakfast took a little while to come out. Also, there were small details that could be improved. For example, the butter & jam and tea options served with breakfast were what you could find at a diner. Despite the imperfect experience, I still would not hesitate to stay at Bann the next time we're in Napa.

Yelp
I decided to start my birthday celebrations here and I'm so glad I did :) I booked the Suvarn room originally and realized it was a bit small for my family so I texted back the number they texted me with to send pre-check in information and they let me know we can upgrade to the Chaiburi room. They were responsive the whole time when I asked to add certain amenities and confirm the early check in. It allowed us to have a stress free day with our kids who needed to nap during that time :) The room was seriously beautiful as well as the grounds. The whole stay was thoughtfully curated and the treats and breakfast were a nice touch. We really just loved walking around and enjoying the grounds. Fon, who assisted us during our whole stay, was amazing and expressed so much kindness to us and our kids. Would love to come back with just me and my husband because it was a very relaxing ambiance and I know the staff try their hardest to ensure a stress free environment for their guests :)

Yelp
Looking for a luxury stay in Napa that supports small business owners... who also happens to be a woman of color? Look no further! This fancy bed and breakfast was created by Chef Lalita of Osha Thai and Lao Table restaurants in San Francisco. The location hosts 6 rooms so you have an intimate stay without the crowds, therefore the rooms are large and lush, the pool and hot tub are never overrun - they were completely empty whenever we used them, and the space is very peaceful as you're set away from the downtown area. Your stay also comes with a complimentary 3-course breakfast and afternoon tea at check-in (outdoor dining only). While this is great for covid, and all the tables are generously spaced far apart from each other, make sure to bring warm clothes. Even with hot days, mornings and evenings cool off. I ended up wearing my plush bathrobe for breakfast one morning because my sweater wasn't thick enough. A few minor things that could use some improvement or better communication is primarily related to breakfast: 1. First, our booking confirmation email said breakfast was from 8am-9:30am. We are early risers so we booked 10am massages assuming we'd eat right at 8am. When we arrived, we were informed that breakfast was actually 9am-10:30am. So a deep tissue massage RIGHT after eating breakfast was a no go for us. 2. Staying at an expensive Napa resort, I assumed small things like, non-dairy milks, real sugar, even more than one tea bag for breakfast would be available to us. Instead, their tea selection tin was immediately removed as it was being shared among all the tables - and in the middle of a pandemic, that's a really big issue. Second, they said they only had Splenda and whole milk. As someone who is severely lactose intolerant and not a fan of Splenda, I would've liked to keep the tea selection tin at the table to choose something else as I originally picked an Early Gray for a milk tea morning. Living in the Bay Area, I'm spoiled with having these types of options, so I was really surprised this wasn't a thing here. 3. Breakfast is complimentary, but you have to fill out your breakfast card the day before. We had to track someone down every time to fill this out. It would've been nice if it was left at our door or there was a table with a dropbox or something. Otherwise, we loved the luxurious room -- and luxury it was. The entire bed and breakfast is Thai themed and this continued into the rooms. Bright colors, textures, and flowers adorned the rooms, the mattresses were actually firm and really comfortable, and small attention to details that I really appreciated - like the full bottle of Chanel Gabrielle perfume, a gorgeous deep soaking tub with a jar of bath salt available, plush bathrobes for two, slippers for the room, and seriously, those fresh flowers were so beautiful. For the parking lot, it's smaller but we never had a problem finding a spot. They also have a few bikes available too and if you have a Tesla, there's one Tesla charger available. Overall, beautiful place to stay for a romantic getaway.

Yelp
Such a hidden gem! It was such a luxury. The breakfast really made you feel like royalty! The dishes and way the food is presented was impeccable. The ambience is so beautiful. There was a mustard field in the background. it is such an intimate dining experience. I loved the fruit served in the beginning, and my congee was flavorful. I didn't have to add anything to it. It was my first time drinking collagen for breakfast. I was suprised that the server brought me macarons and coconut ice cream at the end of the meal. The nicest touch was that Chef lolita and the server sang happy birthday and we took a pic with her. I recommend this place for special occasions. It is easy to drive past this place without noticing it, but once u are there, it is so surprising. Looooved it.

Yelp
Had an amazing 18 year wedding anniversary here at Bann. Excellent, excellent service! First (that's his name) and Sonya were so accomodating. They took great care of us since the beginning when we arrived. Had a wonderful Thai massage (very much needed) and had a really nice 9 course dinner with wine pairing at their very own Osha Thai Napa. Everything was so yummy & had plenty leftover. Chef Lalita came in the next morning & cooked our delicious breakfast. Everything was so fresh, and the fruits came straight from her garden. We love the staff, the food, the ambience, just everything. All I can say is it was a perfect! Will definitely return.

Yelp
COVID-19 STAYCAYTION Because YOU deserve it... Sometimes you just have to say, "Ph*ck it, I work hard so I deserve this..." Bann at Oak Knoll Napa is one of those times. If you've been stressed from work, school, and/or home life...and need a quick AND safe getaway to decompress, I can't think of a better place. Bann (home in Thai) is a newish Thai bed & breakfast resort from SF restaurateur, Chef Lalita Souksamlane (Osha Thai & Lao Table). They opened in the midst of the pandemic last fall. Intimate setting with only 5 bungalows/rooms each with their own theme and dedicated outdoor seating overlooking the vineyard and mountains. Even the welcoming area and mini bar is outdoors, making it ideal during COVID times. Bann is the ultimate Thai oasis making it the PERFECT place to escape to from the craziness of city life. T H I N G S T O K N O W * Only 5 bungalows/rooms so plan ahead. * 2 guests allowed per a room; additional fee for each additional guest. * No minimum night requirement (at this time). * Complimentary Afternoon Tea at arrival (3 pm check-in). * Complimentary 3-Course Breakfast. * Mini-bar w/ drinks, snacks, ramen bowl, soda, beer, wine, etc. is an additional charge: https://bit.ly/3gWk7yi. * Outdoor dining ONLY. Tables were 10-20+ feet away from each other. * Salt water pool and hot tub: https://bit.ly/3ekiitc. * Dog-friendly w/ a $25 pet fee: https://bit.ly/3aY0GBi. * Free on-site parking. A month prior, I booked the Singha Nakorn Room, Luxury California King. Just to give you an idea, for two nights including tax, resort fee, and pet fee, it was close to $1,800. A rare splurge but it was worth it. S I N G H A N A K O R N Gorgeous AND spacious, well-appointed bungalow/room (600 square feet). Southern Thai inspired with rich gold, blue, and teal colors. Fresh flowers and orchids adorned the room and bathroom. Link to video clip: https://bit.ly/3xLohyN. Beautiful walk-in shower: https://bit.ly/3ehLroU and a deep soaking tub with bath salts: https://bit.ly/3eh5Fip. Link to video clip: https://bit.ly/33h9WMw. Thai Jasmine toiletries and Chanel perfume. Dental kit, shaving kit, shower cap, and comb available. The bungalow/room was quiet so it was awesome to fall asleep to crickets chirping and wake up to birds chirping....instead of saws and hammers, courtesy of my neighbor back in the city. FYI, no hair conditioner, iron, and mini fridge in the room. Room for improvement: * For such a large shower, the shower pressure was quite weak since it was just a handheld shower head. I think a rainfall shower head would work better. * I had issues with the TV (DirecTV). * WiFi was slow and spotty so leave your laptop at home...you should be RELAXING not working anyways. =) F O O D (Onsite herb and veggie garden.) * Complimentary Afternoon Tea: Array of fruits, cheese, crackers, macarons, and taro cake: https://bit.ly/3ufr5SK. * Complimentary 3-Course Breakfast w/ coffee or tea: Bread basket, K&J Orchard Fruit Plate, and Choice of waffles, pancake, porridge, noodle soup, or Thai pan eggs: https://bit.ly/3h1WFji. It was in the low 40s in the mornings so bring a warm coat/sweater. Link to video clip: https://bit.ly/3vIAEKo. * OPTIONAL 8-COURSE TASTING MENU w/ wine pairing (+$150 pp): https://bit.ly/3nLrA4J. With things opening up and seeing how packed some restaurants were in the area, I'm so glad I opted for this. The nearest guests were 20+ feet away outdoors; not only did it feel super safe but it felt like having a private dinner. *** Amuse Bouche: Watermelon w/ caramelized sugar, fried fish (1) Grilled Tiger Prawns w/ wasabi dressing (2) Tom Kha w/ mussels (3) Hamachi Kama w/ truffle salt (4) Lobster Tail** (5) Salmon w/ Penang curry, served w/ rice berry** (6) Snake River Farms Wagyu w/ mushrooms** (7) Asparagus w/ soy chili** (8) Mango w/ sticky rice and young coconut ice cream **Portion for two shown in pic. Everything was delicious, filling, and well-balanced with true Thai flavors (not dumbed down). Since it was a blind tasting menu, I didn't know what we were being served. My only recommendation is if you like your beef cooked a certain way, to request it beforehand (wagyu was well-done). Since I don't drink wine, they were kind enough to do a cocktail pairing for me instead (3 cocktails made with Japanese vodka). Upon request, they even cooked Tater Tot an unseasoned chicken breast ($10): https://bit.ly/3vIxh6c. S E R V I C E True Thai hospitality. Bann has a small staff but attentive to their guests needs. From Tony, Paul, and Chef Lalita herself, everyone was so kind, welcoming, and approachable. Overall, I L-O-V-E-D my stay at Bann...the gorgeous grounds, al-fresco dining with a view, personalized service, and serene atmosphere are just what I needed to decompress. Yes, it's a splurge but YOU are worth it!

Yelp
an all-around five star heavenly retreat in the Napa area. I'd come back in a heartbeat. I could not have asked for a better birthday weekend getaway. Close enough to home but felt like we were transported far away. Great food, great ambience and I love the nestled, quiet, getaway mood. service: i felt like family. Not only did the manager let my little 9 month old borrow their son's high chair, the chef-owner prepared my little her own little bowl of watermelon to enjoy at dinner. Those little touches set this place apart. It's truly the feel of a traditional small B&B (something I thought we'd lose with the lux booking). I could not thank them enough for the wonderful hospitality! food: the afternoon tea, refreshments and breakfast were all amazing. I liked how you could customize the breakfast pickings (fruit, pastries/toast are routine, and you can pick from various options for your plated entree). we chose the chicken noodle soup & pan eggs. We loved the chicken noodle soup! extra: book the 8 course dinner. you won't regret it. To me, it was the best meal I can remember. Each course just as or more delectable than the one previous, each immaculately prepared by the chef-owner Lalita. so much to say here but the pictures don't do the food justice. Greens harvested from the on-site garden, top notch proteins cooked to perfection, and the all mighty mango sticky rice with mango that melts in your mouth. wine pairings were included.. five stars. resort grounds: beautiful pool and hot tub. cute floaties and because the b&b rooms are so limited, we truly felt like we had the resort to ourselves. so many smaller nooks to escape and enjoy the tranquility. This place had lots of space to roam - vineyards, gardens, green space. Nice spots to take a day walk, plenty of places to lounge and enjoy the views. Rooms are quite luxurious, clean, and inviting. five stars. Everything is beautifully landscaped and nothing is out of place. Tons of thai decor (carved wood pieces, fountains, mix of metal/wood, and grass. Oh so lovely. they don't have a spa, and do not have wine tasting... two things that are quite traditional in this area.. but I did not miss that AT ALL!! I can't say enough about how much I loved this place. I'll dream about it often! We will be back :)

Yelp
I usually hangout with my friends in Napa every year. Privacy is my first priority and Bann hotel is my choice. Thai style architecture and all decorations is the signature of this place. The room is clean ,comfortable bed and close to city. I really enjoyed the room , the bar and delicious breakfast.

Yelp
My friend told me that the actress Jamie Chung's sister got married here last summer. It's all over her sister's Instagram page. Not only is this a bed and breakfast place, but it's also a venue for events such as weddings. I didn't know about this place until my friend invited a few of us here for our birthday celebration. Since this is a bed and breakfast place, you can't exactly drive up here and expect to order off a menu. It doesn't work like that. You have to call in advance to order. Many friends have asked me about this place because of their cute décor and beautifully presented entrees. All I know is that you get an 8 course meal for about $160. Waiters are friendly and accommodating. Thai teas, coffee and other non-alcoholic drinks are "free". Alcoholic drinks cost extra. I took a little tour of one of the rooms and it felt like I was transported to Thailand. Also, the bathrooms also have designer fragrances for you to use. So far I have visited Bann twice. We will visit again soon for more birthday celebrations.

Yelp
Special event for our special friend Margaret's retirement party! Chef Lalita and team did an amazing job. Everything was perfect and unforgettable. It created joyful and fond memories for Margaret that would last a lifetime.

Yelp
Incredibly relaxing stay with very hospitable hosts! The staff were so friendly and welcoming that they almost feel like family. You can tell they love what they do and they did not skip a beat when it comes to food either! Man... that 9-course dinner by Chef Lalita. Definitely come hungry! We enjoyed that so much! As well as the breakfast menu. Made sure we tried most of it and we left very happy. We brought our dogs with us too, btw. They loved it there! Especially my little chihuahua terrier. Definitely coming back, and recommending this beautiful place yo family and friends! Special thanks to First for taking care of us!

Yelp
This is a pricy but not as fancy Thai style bed and breakfast with 6 rooms. They called it a resort but here are the downside. it can get noisy. Lots of cars pass by the street "oak knoll", room 1&2 are exactly facing it. the "heated" jacuzzi felt lukewarm rather than hot. Pool wasn't even heated since it will take more than half a day to heat...hmm but the guests pay at least $650/night. Why couldn't they heat it up knowing that there are guests coming.... You not trying to heat it up right there right then right???? During breakfast they serve Lipton tea bags and "first street" AKA smart &final individual jam packets rather than upscale products. For the price I paid, I would expect better quality stuff! Don't you agree? The fruits platter was most likely prepared the day before because the pear turned brown. Also they use a space heater for outdoor dining.... How much heat can we get off that?! On the bright: We stayed in room 3 for 2 nights, king size bed, seemed very clean, and tidy, towels and robes were nice and soft from RH. Didn't find a single strand of hair anywhere + star. We also had the pleasure to try the cooking from chef lalita aka osha Thai owner. It was a 10 course meal. with wine pairing.. tasty, fresh and generous portion + star. I would give this place a 3 star. They try to upscale it but also try to go the affordable route to save a penny or two. Need some improvements here for me to return

Yelp
A slice of Thailand. The highlight of our little staycation at Bann at Oak Knoll was the complimentary 3-course Thai breakfast. This beautiful B&B nestled amongst the vineyards in Napa Valley has 5 rooms, each representing a different region of Thailand. We were served afternoon tea upon arrival, before relaxing poolside overlooking the vineyards and mountains. Bann at Oak Knoll is owned by the same owner of the famous OSHA Thai and Lao Table.

Yelp
This review is from our last trip on December. Everything is beautiful. The room, the presentation of the food, the property surrounded by nature/ vineyards. It's a small place, I believe they have 5-6 bedrooms. Perfect for couple, family and small groups. I love how peaceful, intimate and private this place is. I love the elephant carving on the property. It says a lot about Thai culture. I just appreciate the wood art and that's hard work on that elephant master piece. Sonia and our server were all nice and friendly, always greet us with a smile. When we had our dinner it was 30's degree outside. It was freezing cold. They had electrical heater to keep us warm. It would be much better if they have a real fireplace/fire pit to keep the guest warm. Over all, it was a great experience. It was intimate and romantic get away. Can't wait to come back on summer.

Yelp
If I could give more stars for this place I would. Everything, from the ambience, the service, the food, was exceptional. I cannot put into words how much I enjoyed staying at Bann. Their freshly made croissants every morning, along side beautifully plated (and fresh fruit) were a great start to the morning. I strongly recommend their chicken soup for breakfast, but honestly you will not be disappointed with anything you order. Their general manager checks in on us and was very pleasant and even told me hints on how ti make their soup. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place.

Yelp
Great local getaway! Our friend recommended Bann to us during pandemic. It is absolutely amazing. I believe it used to be a motel then Chef Lalita transformed this place into a luxury Thai style all inclusive paradise. There are only 6 rooms so you probably felt like you have the place all to yourself. Upon arrival we contacted Paul who set everything for us and making sure health and safety are their priority. We bought along our 4 years old Miya and Mochi "toy poodle". Normally Napa is not really a place for little one. However, I have to say it is perfect for everyone including paws members. FOOD! The multi course dinner was part of our inclusive package. The food arrangement I will say a 10/10 and the food is 9/10 for tasting however I do wish something more unique, like something we haven't tasted on a Thai menu before. Since everything is gated inside a vineyard. Miya and Mochi were running in and out of the room then to the field of fresh grass safely. We just find a perfect lounging area and watch them play! If you are in the Bay Area or even from far. Definitely plan a visit!

Yelp
Highlights - Visited for a few days to celebrate our baby moon and it was the perfect peaceful retreat, since the first day we arrive we were the only guests with the hotel all to ourselves. - Peaceful, gorgeous seating outdoor, and luxurious room with soaking tub with bath salts, comfy robes, Chanel perfume for use, and great service from all the staff. Everything was decorated with fresh orchids, which added a nice touch. This slice of heaven took me back to memories of being at a Thailand resort hotel. - My fav was afternoon tea complete with Thai tea refreshment and 3 tiered sweets, crackers with cheese/meat, and fruit. - Breakfast was top notch, I especially enjoyed the porridge and noodle soup each morning complete with coffee or tea, fruit plate, and basket of bread. - They offer bikes that you can take to ride around, but it is located on a busier street. A bunch of wineries, restaurants, and downtown is a short drive away. - Self serve snack area is outside of the room complete with chips, candy, fridge full of soda/beer for purchase. There is also complementary water and coffee/tea available self serve when you wish. - This is the spot for Instagram and photoshoot opportunities. Improvements - They have a electric car charger but only for Teslas. - Main pool was super cold for use even though weather outside was perfect, but the hot tub was warm. I didn't find out until after that we could request them to heat it prior to our arrival. They were also completing the cabanas on the day we were leaving. Will have to come back to check it out! Tips - I wish there were yoga mats for use or remember to bring your own. The outdoor areas are perfect for morning yoga or meditation sessions.

Yelp
I was here during their soft open. I would have to admit that I was on a short fuse and took my frustration out on the staff a bit but their kill them with kindness attitude and service made me feel like a complete b***h. Great service, very comfortable, and beautiful surrounding. The food was excellent. It didn't feel too over whelming or fancy. Instead it actually felt really homie. 10/10 would recommend and would go again. They have snacks and drinks available for guests while they wait for the food to be prepared. Don't forget to make reservations ahead of time.

Yelp
Long overdue due review. I've stayed here 3 times already during the pandemic and will continue to keep coming. This is a hidden gem of Napa. I'm hesitant to leave a review because I want to keep it a secret forever, however I fully support the BANN OAK KNOLL experience. The ambiance transports you to Thailand. You'll forget you're in Napa. The service is top notch. Paul (general Manager) will make sure all your accommodations are met prior to your visit. You're greeted by Tony at the resort and you're immediately treated like a friend. He will be your main person throughout your stay. He's a Pilot by the way, very cool. The food is masterfully cooked by Lalita (yes owner of OSHA thai). I like to go light spice on the food, but you can go spicy if you want. They've accommodated my sisters wedding and an Easter egg hunt for my daughter. They're the best. And if you don't have a good experience then go elsewhere. More for me!

Yelp
Finally I got the chance to check in this hotel. If use one words to describe this place ------ amazing! Food is good, atmosphere is good, decorations is good too. I'm and all everything is good in here. I got reservation on 7/19, Monday. We booked two room for my family. Since it's the weekday normally they don't have dinner after I text with their employees, finally the owner who is the chef too agree with us to make the pop up dinner. The good is so delicious, and their servers are very very good! My whole family is really enjoying this trip. Bonus : this place is owned by a beautiful lady who own the other two restaurants in SF. One is oshatai , the other is Lao Table. She is very nice and take care her customer. Highly recommend. This place not only good for couples also good for family, friends, definitely come back!

Yelp
You will definitely feel at home at Bann! Tony will make sure you have everything you need and that everything is to your liking. It really feels like you're staying at someone's home with how quiet and private it is. The afternoon tea and breakfast that come with your stay are really nice touches. As more folks find out about Bann, it's gonna be more difficult to get a reservation, so go now if you can!

Yelp
Just returned from a beautiful birthday celebration. We stayed one night and were able to experience an 8 course lunch and 3 course breakfast. Our party occupied 5 out of the total 6 rooms for this quaint bed and breakfast located on Oak Knoll in the Napa Valley. The 8 course meal included the following; -5 spice pork belly with sticky rice -crispy salmon roll with caviar -chicken pad Thai -Chilean sea bass -poached cape cod lobster -wok grilled green vegetables -Kobe steak with mushrooms -mango sticky rice The food was $175 per person and the presentation, taste and service were exquisite. Bann grows most of the produce and herbs used in their food as well as the fresh flowers that adorn the site. Wine included a Sauvignon Blanc and Red Blend both from a neighboring winery (Materra). The beds were extremely comfortable, complete with a lounge, desk and television. The bathroom had an amazing tub, shower, separated toilet and double vanity. No ironing table but they did offer a steamer. The salt water pool and hot tub were extremely relaxing. There were several loungers, mats, chairs and tables to accommodate our entire group. The outdoor dining room has long tables, and a sun shade made of wood. There is also an amazing area with outdoor couches to greet guests when they arrive. If you are planning a special event, such as a small wedding, birthday or a girls weekend. Bann is a perfect place to have an intimate yet amazing event.

Yelp
Excellent food and service, but of course for the price (especially on a weekend...), I'd expect no less. Staff was welcoming and friendly and wore masks. Upon arrival, we were brought fruit and sweets platters and a choice of thai ice tea or a pandan drink. The rooms are spacious and decadent with bathrooms one could only dream of. I mean, even the shower could fit 8 people EASY. Chanel perfumes/cologne are available for use, as well as Q-tips, cotton swabs, and disposable dental kits and combs. The king beds have silky soft sheets and pillowcases. This could've been an easy 5 stars for me given all the amenities and food/service, but here's why it's not: -The wifi is terrible in most areas. I know you don't go there to surf the web, but worth noting it would go on and off randomly. Couldn't load basic webpages sometimes, and don't even think about watching a youtube video without waiting for it to load every 5 seconds. -We dined outside for all 3 meals, and were accompanied by wasps and flies galore. There are no traps for insects (yet?), so they swarmed quickly during each meal. -There are also no heat lamps anywhere, so the nights got chilly even with a jacket. I hope they sort this out before the winter, especially near the dining area! -The chairs/seats around the property are clearly for aesthetics, as all of them make your butt and/or back hurt after awhile. Couldn't even read my book outside comfortably without needing to shift around every few min. Eventually, I gave up altogether. Note: The pool is still under construction, expected sometime in October, so there's constant noise during working hours. A lot of thought went into even the smallest details, so I'd love to review again in the future if/when any additions are made (since they're still new). Looking forward to the pool, and hope they do something about the chilly nights and insects soon!

Yelp
I spent the weekend at Bann with immediate family, celebrating my three and six year old grandkid's birthdays. Their parents started this tradition three years ago when Bann originally opened. Chef Lalita and her effervescent assistant, Paul, have become part of the family, as well as their small kitchen staff, who are talented enough to do anything and everything. They all make their work look like fun, as they're setting up, serving and waiting on their guests. I actually love helping them ... taking empty plates and glasses into the kitchen, picking up waste and asking others if they need anything. The kitchen sometimes turns into a gathering place, just like home. The atmosphere is conducive to everyone being part of the whole experience. Bann is a magical place for family and friends to gather and enjoy the food, wine, pool/spa, views and a very authentic Thai experience. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it!

Yelp
Spend a relaxing Thursday evening and Friday morning at this lovely bed and breakfast with my family for my mother's birthday. Everything was above and beyond my expectations. The staff was friendly and we got to chit chat with the owner. The pool was still being built but will be finished soon. Every detail from the bowls and dishes, to the trinkets decorating the place remind me of Thailand. Even the smell! Everything was very high end, well thought out, and very clean. The food was amazing and the onsite garden was used to prepare the meals. Each dish was explained and was more than we could finish. The bed and breakfast was surrounded by gorgeous Vineyards. And they are dog friendly. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing get away.

Yelp
A total hidden gem in Napa. My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway at this beautiful intimate Thai style bed & breakfast getaway nestled in the Napa vineyards. A really nice departure from the traditional modern Napa expereince. Food was incredible, interior and exterior design was on point, views are gorgeous, luxury touches in the rooms elevate the experience, and the staff is extremely sweet and hospitable. Tony is awesome. Might I add, the mattress and bed were beyond comfortable. The bathroom set up with an decadent tub for a relaxing salt soak...YES PLEASE! All the food allowed you to "Eat with your eyes", it was as tasty as it was gorgeously plated. Adhering to my dietary restrictions and creating tasty mocktail pairings...I fell in love with the lobster and yellowtail collar dish. I'll def be back and recommending this great woman-owned-passion-project to everyone. Until next time, I'll be dreaming of the food. Chef Lalita rocks.

Yelp
As of the time of this writing, this bed and breakfast place called "Bann at Oak Knoll, Napa" is not officially open yet. The grand open is about 2 months away. So, my review is based on our experiences before the opening. The visit was by invitation only and we were honored to have attended. Bann means home in the Thai language. So the decorations were exclusively imported from Thailand and are beautifully decorated. Entering the gate reminds me of Thailand. While we don't have wines but I can imagine the tropical greenery. It's a Thai resort in Napa, CA. Bann is located away from everyone. Very exclusive and surrounded by winery. It's just north of Napa downtown and about 15 minutes south of Castello di Amorosa castle. Upon arrival, at 6 pm, we were quickly greeted by the host to a nice cold glass of tea blend drink each. We had some small talks and were shown to our room upon which we were told that dinner could be anytime we wanted. This B&B serves freshly made Thai dinner and breakfast. It was a great surprise that they serve dinner since we did not want to go into town due to COVID. All the food was prepared and made locally with the exception of breakfast pastry, from Bouchon, a famous Napa bakery. Bann has a huge vegetable and fruit garden in the back so they didn't need to go into town too much, thus reducing exposure. Free cold drinks and snacks were everywhere. For a bit more excitement, an ATV was available for us to ride to see the orchard. The owner and manager came out and chatted with us. They were very nice and accommodating and always asking if we needed anything else. You can be as engaging as you want or if you wanted to be left alone. The rooms are about 50 yards from the main road so you can hear low hums of the vehicles passing by in the morning, but otherwise, the evening was quiet. The place is extremely well kept and very clean and certainly feels exclusive. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend anyone. For me, it's a once in a lifetime experience for a $$$$. Beats flying all the way to Thailand for this.

Yelp
I first came as a videographer of a wedding Dec 2020. I never heard of the place but the very first moment I arrived I knew it would be a successful venue to come. The staff were sincerely welcoming vendors and guests like friends. The venue is beyond photogenic with hearts at the details. Varieties of scenery and patios could give U the options and content feelings away from the outside world. I came in Apr 2021 again for another event and the venue proved to be holding up to their quality services to guests from all different cultures. Rooms are top notch. Food are heart melting. Requests are taken care of promptly. Paul the onsite manager greeted us up to our departure with goodies appreciated on the road. It's such a pleasure to have visited multiple times and it is a venue that continues to shine for many events to come.

Yelp
After receiving the text and posting the review, the director reached out to us to make it right. He invited us to Bann once they reopen and assure the stay was nothing but stellar which I really appreciated. I just got back from my stay and can confirm everything was spectacular! From the facility to the rooms to the service, they exceeded my expectations. All the workers there were so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was nothing but great. It felt like we were family. I have stayed at many hotels but the rooms at Bann was just breathtaking and so unique and very spacious. I love the little details such as fresh flowers vases and orchids in the room. I always appreciate when there's a tub in the room to soak and relax at night. Another bonus is they provide afternoon tea upon arrival and served breakfast in the morning. My only regret is I didn't stay longer. I have nothing but positive things to say about Bann and I will definitely be back for another staycation and celebrations. I highly recommend Bann if you're looking for a place to stay in the Napa area!

Yelp
This is a real nice and relaxing place. Thailand theme in every room. Very unique and fun place to check out. The views all around Bann is amazingly beautiful all around. This is a bed and breakfast resort. You will be greeted when you arrive. They will show you to your room and will serve tea and snacks on the patio deck. Lots of beautiful decor to take pictures outside. Pretty views of the Napa mountains. Early mornings you can spot the hot air balloons taking off near by. Dinner with a beautiful setting. Food is so yummy and delicious made by chef Lalita. Outdoor sitting on the patio. Breakfast in the morning with more delicious food by chef Lalita. Even for a short getaway it is well worth the stay. They also have a beautiful garden that they grow fruits and veggies all organic and fresh. Also coming soon is a swimming pool in the works. Come check this place out you won't be disappointed. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Just returned from a quick stay during NYE. Was pleasantly surprised how well they accommodated me with a plant-based / vegan diet. From afternoon refreshments to sweet and savory breakfast options. And yes, they offer plant-base milk for my coffee. Though I normally prefer soy or oat, they had almond, which I'm thankful for.

Yelp
My husband and I were looking to book a quick baby moon getaway. We luckily discovered Bann in Napa through a friend and were more than happy and satisfied with our experience! This was definitely more of a splurge for us, but we really enjoyed everything about our stay. Bann is nestled away and located in a quieter area of Napa. Upon arrival we were greeted with afternoon refreshments and cold drinks (Jasmine ice tea and Thai tea), along with a three tier plating of fresh fruit, sweets and savory snacks. Our room was the Wiang Ping room and was plenty of space for 2! There were two beds, some areas to lounge and a large bathroom with a standing tub, walk in shower and double sinks. We enjoyed the plush robes, soft towels, hotel slippers and Jasmine scented products! The room was clean and felt sanitary. The salt water pool also was lovely- very relaxing and because the property is a B&B (I believe those are 5 rooms) it was calm and never felt too busy. We enjoyed breakfast (included with our room stay) the next morning in front of our room- we tried the rice porridge and chicken noodle soup that came with croissants/bread , fresh fruit, and coffee/hot tea. Everything was delicious and fresh! I liked that the produce was procured from the garden on the property. There's also a snack bar cart and drinks if you need some extra treats. The grounds itself were also nice to walk around and explore. It felt very zen and quiet, made us want to go to Thailand one day to experience the real thing! There were also little frogs hopping around at night which was neat. The staff at Bann was also wonderful. We met Chef and Owner Lalita who was all smiles and very warm and welcoming- they treated us very kindly and we enjoyed our personable conversations with them! We felt safe and welcome. Overall a wonderful and relaxing stay- Yountville is about a 10 min drive away and St Helena was around 20 min in case you want to explore some of the other towns and wineries! Can't wait to return to Bann one day!

Yelp
This is an amazing place with incredible food and even better service. We weren't staying at the hotel (we will next time), but we had one of the best meals you will find in Napa
