My experience in L&D was night and day, literally. My day shift nurse, Jill, was AWFUL. She was patronizing, passive aggressive, and snuck in little digs for no reason that make you question if you're seriously being gaslit by an absolute stranger for no reason. Well, if she's your nurse, you probably are. And to make it worse, she tries to mask it with this obnoxious high-pitched sweetie-pie voice which is incredibly transparent. She lied to me & my mother about the visitation policy which resulted in my mom wasting $200 on a hotel room that she thankfully didn't need to use, due to the night shift coming in and reassuring us that Jill was wrong about the visitation policy and my mom could indeed stay. It seems as if her ultimate goal is to make you uncomfortable. It's extremely unprofessional and baffling. I could go on and on, but I would like to mention that aside from her, my nurses were fantastic. There's another Jill who is incredibly professional, caring, and sweet, so I would hate to cause any mixup here. The terrible Jill is shorter with blonde hair, brown eyes, & a Minnie Mouse voice (if Minnie were demonic) and worked day shift. The awesome Jill is taller, brownish hair, light eyes, and worked night shift when I was there. Jenn on night shift was wonderful. Loved her and was sooo especially grateful for her presence after enduring blonde day shift Jill. I would also like to shoutout Nicole, who also worked night shift and was an absolute delight. She came to find me in postpartum & check on me, which was very sweet. She went above & beyond. My postpartum nurses were all great to me & my family and they deserve praise, recognition, and compensation. So overall my experience was positive, but I felt compelled to warn future mothers about blonde day shift Jill.
