Banning House Lodge

We discovered this little slice of paradise 15 years ago, and it has been our favorite getaway ever since. In fact, we just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here over the past few days! We’ve always preferred a peaceful, rural setting to the hustle and bustle of city life, and Two Harbors offers exactly that.||The Banning House Lodge is a charming historic bed and breakfast, not overly luxurious, but full of character. The staff is genuinely friendly and attentive, which makes every stay special. We especially love starting our mornings with the delicious breakfast on the patio overlooking the harbor, and winding down in the evenings with the complimentary wine and cheese.||Russ and his team go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. The property and rooms are always spotless, and the shuttle service is just a quick call away, ready to whisk you down the hill and back after a fun day exploring. It’s truly a place that keeps us coming back year after year.

Our large group stayed in the Villa at the Banning House Lodge and it was perfect before our hike! Katie was so accommodating and helpful from the pick up at the ferry to the end of our hike out. We loved the lodge and breakfast, and the wine and cheese happy hour was a major plus! Thank you to Katie and Grace for holding some of our gear and bringing it to us post hike. Above and beyond service that will bring us back to the Banning House in the future.

Such a lovely trip with friends! Katie from the management team was especially helpful getting us all set up and helping to accommodate allergies and whatever else we needed!|The rooms are tidy and fun. Definitely vintage and yet with all the modern accoutrements we needed. We especially enjoyed the welcome wine every night at 5 (who wouldn’t!?!) and the spectacular views from the patio. There is a lovely great room with games and a fireplace and a great meal is just a short walk down to the port! We highly highly recommend this spot for the kitschy and adventurous. Fancy folks might want to stay put in Avalon. |We have traveled extensively in our lifetime with and without our kids. |For us it’s a couples trip and a family trip FAVORITE!

Three of us were the support boat for a Catalina Classic competitor. Banning House was a calm respite from the event. The room was top notch and very comfortable. The staff made the entire visit. They were friendly and super accommodating. The event began at 6am and this amazing team had the continental breakfast and the van ready at 4am. We plan on a return visit!

We stayed at in the crows nest and had the best time! The staff is amazing and made our stay so memorable. Everyone was always willing to go above and beyond to make sure we were spoiled. They were also very knowledgeable about the island and reccomended some really great activities while we were there. Trip was 💯and we can’t wait to come back. Thanks to everyone!!!!

Just went for a couple days to celebrate my brothers birthday. They stayed in the Santa Cruz house. We stayed in the cliff room. . Service was great. The views are great. Russ or 1 of the girls were there every time we needed them. ||My only complaint, bird poop and bugs on the outside of the window. I know it's tough to keep it clean there, but the view is so great, it's a shame to miss any of it

This review is for Katie, who works at the Banning House on Catalina Island, two harbors. She is great, her customer service is awesome and she went out of her way to help me. The Catalina Island company had done our gear haul to a group site, my solar panel was put inside the cab as not to damage it (which was nice of them) but then forgotten when the gear was dropped. I tried calling, but it was 5:05pm, no answer, then walked into town, talked to the restaurant, no help, nobody really even wanted to help me. I started walking around towards the back of the restaurant and looking in the trucks to find it, no luck. I then see a van driving into town dropping people off, I ran after the van, it stopped. I explained my situation and without any hesitation Katie calls up the people that needed to know and got me some help, within 15 mins the solar panel was dropped off. Then she told me she doesn't even work for the Island Company but the Banning House. Seems the world we live in these days is filled with "that's not MY problem, or that's not MY job." My point is, she didn't have to help me, considering she didn't even work for the Island Company, but she did without any hesitation. Thanks a bunch Katie, your the best! Give that girl a raise!

I have stayed here throughout the past 5 years on several occasions atleast twice yearly. I have had wonderful experiences with Yessenia & Juanita. Unfortunately this year has been a complete disappointment. I felt unwelcomed by Russell. He gave us absolutely no pleasantries. Not a welcome to the property, not a how are you or how’s your stay… As a mooring holder, I used to like to refer friends to stay at the Banning House and come visit us. I will no longer be doing so while he is there. I gave the room 3 stars as there was no smoke alarm, the windows with beautiful views were dirty & the outside furniture was also dirty where I like to enjoy overlooking Cat Harbor.
