Our stay here was lovely. Such a quite sanctuary in the middle of the city. Our room was spacious, on the ground floor and in the second building. This building has a small pool. Our room was clean and had Aircon. Everyday we got new bottles of water. Breakfast was diverse. Lokale rice dishes, toast, pancakes, waffles, fruit, yoghurt and many juices.

WARNING: YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FLUSH TOILET PAPER DOWN THE TOILET HERE. PROS: Staff are very nice accommodating. Hotel food seems pretty good and includes free breakfast. Functional A/C unit. Lockbox available to store valuables. Nice sized balcony. Location. Quiet at night. CONS: The biggest one for me is you are not allowed to flush toilet paper down the toilet. You instead have to either throw dirty/used toilet paper in the trash (gross!!) or use a water gun aka "bum gun" with *ice cold* water to wash yourself (tried it and it just doesn't work for me nor does it fully clean you)... I realize this is common in Thailand but it is unheard of where I'm from and I simply cannot get used to it. As other people mentioned, the rooms seem a little outdated. It is also rather noisy outside during the day- there is currently construction going on right outside our room (March 2025). The hotel restaurant closes at 7:15pm which is very early- you'll have to walk to find food after this. Bathroom door is a sliding door that does not close well or offer much privacy. Floor in room is extremely slippery - you must be very very careful when walking. A/C unit blows air right on you in bed which isn't ideal. Balcony door does not shut all the way. Toilet seems weak and you have to hold the flush button down until it completely flushes. The bed and couch sit on frames with sharp corners (and paired with the slippery floor, this is not ideal). Stairs to upstairs rooms are small, steep, and very slippery as well. Wi-Fi logs you out after a certain amount of time as well as every single time you leave the hotel (which is inconvenient). This hotel really is quaint and the people are pleasant, it just isn't for me. I'm spoiled and westernized and cannot live without my toilet paper flushing. (There are nearby 5-star hotels that offer this) Thus, I personally would choose not to stay here again.

Our stay at Banthai Village was excellent. Tak at the front desk was very professional and supportive. Highly recommended for couples. Night market is nearby and back area is very lively. Breakfast was okayishhh and pool area is very relaxing.

We stayed at Banthai Village 2 years ago. We liked that very much so we booked at this boutique hotel again. Still very friendly staff, nice big room with a good bed, good breakfast, nice swimming pool, located 10 minutes walk from the old city centre, also many restaurants and bars nearby, lots of plants and trees on the property and just a very good ambiance. I absolutely recommend it!

Lovely hotel hidden in the centre of Chang mai. Lovely reception staff. We were on the top floor and had a Good size room with good air con. Our bathroom had a sunken shower which was easier to get in and out of than it looked. The room had free tea and coffee making facilities. You could buy drinks from reception at a reasonable price to put in your room fridge or use the local 7 eleven shop around the corner. |Breakfast had a good range of food and you could request bacon, eggs & omelettes etc to be cooked for you. We had lunch a few times and all the food was delicious. Only downside bar was closed at 8pm but as I mentioned before you could buy beer from reception or nearby shop.|The hotel was perfectly positioned to access restaurants, tourist sites and the walled city. So many places to eat nearby and street food stalls everywhere, especially outside the north gate. The Sunday night market was only 10-15mins away inside the walled city. We also arranged with reception for a driver to take us up to The temple Wat Soi Dothep. |Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is rather small but very nice. It has a pool and the rooms are located around it. The staff is super friendly and very helpful, among other things, they booked a Thai cooking class for us. Breakfast is served at the pool and has the usual food, in addition you can order eggs, ham... to be freshly made. Location is great, not far from the city center and various markets. So a really big recommendation - whenever we make it to Chiang Mai, well stay there!

Really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were lovely and we really likes the architecture/ design. The staff were great and the pool was a real highlight. Breakfast is a little on the expensive side (but perhaps an unfair comparison to the street food we also ate) although tasty, it is mostly western. The location is super central for what we wanted to do and it is always easy to get taxis via Grab, etc. Would definitely recommend.
