This is such an amazing historic manor house! The property is so beautiful and filled with original period furnishings. The guest rooms are modern, clean and have views overlooking the garden. Breakfast was served downstairs on old china with a beautiful display of cold items and freshly made hot items to choose from. This is such a magical place and you can tell the family is working hard to keep it in great shape.

We had a lovely afternoon at Bantry house. We visited the gardens and had a very interesting tour of the hoise with Julie. All followed by the afternoon tea in the library. Stunning views if the bay from the front garden.

A beautiful historical home. It has an amazing history. It needs a little TLC but that is underway. It hosts the West Cork musical festival at the end of October. Something you could consider of visiting at that time. It has beautiful gardens to boot!!

Nice way to spend a few hours , you can see inside the house and the gardens are lovely. They gave the kids a treasure hunt in the house which kept them busy. Has a tea room also

We stayed here for one night on our Ireland roadtrip and we wish we stayed for more! Very private and beautiful. The owner, Julie, was very sweet and accommodating. We had access to the gardens and library at all times and the views were absolutely stunning. We did a private tour of the house the next morning after our delicious breakfast. We also had a mini tea session which was perfect for my mom and I. We would recommend this place to anyone. Just be aware if you have lots of luggage, there’s no lift and stairs are pretty narrow.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay at Bantry House. Welcomed by Julie and shown around and to our room. The room was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The house is a museum and you can self guide or take a daily guided tour. The gardens were wonderful.

A beautiful country house and gardens, well worth a visit. The interior decoration of the house is eclectic, with plenty of character, and a few surprises that you wouldn't expect to encounter in West Cork, such as a tapestry made for Marie Antoinette's wedding? The gardens are equally as lovely for a wander about, I can't recommend this place enough, especially if the weather is nice, €14 entry for adults, definitely pop in for a couple of hours if you're in the area!

One of the most beautiful houses to visit in West Cork. The house and gardens are in great condition and well maintained. Especially good on a sunny day to stroll around the many levels outside.Really worth the trip to Bantry town as well

Yelp
Probably one of the most beautiful places I have eaten. The view is like no other. Sitting outside on the porch looking over the bay. Only one choice on the menu so it would be recommended to look at the main course before eating there. Great food & an even more beautiful setting

Yelp
My wife and I stayed at The Bantry House last night and it was one of the most wonderfully unique hotel experiences of our lives. Since there are only six rooms situated on the west wing of an entire castle we pretty much had the run of the place. We never saw another guest. Julie and Sam are the sibling proprietors (also direct descendants of the original 17 century royal family that built the castle). Both were gracious and lovely. Since it was our anniversary we stayed up late listening to old jazz records in the castle library that resembled a hall at the Louvre. When we departed this morning we realized the only electronic device we picked up during our stay was a camera. Thank you Julie and Sam for a wonderful escape. We will never forget it.

Yelp
If you are visiting West Cork (sure why would you not - you may even bump into Graham Norton who has a house in the nearby Sheep's Head area!!) make sure you pay a visit to the wonderful Bantry House, right in the heart of Bantry town overlooking the amazing Bantry Bay and Whiddy Island nearby. It is actually a private estate and and has been owned by the descendants of the Earls of Bantry - the White family - right up to the present day. The house itself is truly magificant, continues to be restored to it's former glory and well worth a visit. However, I was really impressed with the gardens which, despite being neglected for many years have been almost restored to their former glory of the 1800's. There are hedges and topiary, many variety of trees, shrubs and climbers (gorgeous wisteria and azalea varieties) rose gardens, fountains, sunken gardens, terraced gardens and even two woodland walks, one of which leads to the top of 100 steps, called the 'old ladies' walk! Other gardens which have been reclaimed are being used to grow vegetables and salads. Amazing variety of plants all around this historic house - I guess it must be the damp mild weather and the influence of the Gulf stream which flows by. There are also tea rooms for a cuppa and a bite to eat and of course, you can enjoy an overnight stay with breakfast the next morning. Entrance fee is €11 but if you only want to visit the gardens it's a very reasonable €5.

Yelp
Very impressive house with a beautiful garden! The price for the visit of the house is 10€ per adult but it is very interesting inside! There is also the possibility to sleep there and then you are allowed to see and use some of the private rooms!
