T+L's Hotel Review of Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur

"Sitting on the 53rd floor, the outdoor pool with a shaded deck provided a perfect way to beat the humidity — I could swim with a direct view of the Petronas Twin Towers while relaxing on ample lounge seating; the pool area sits adjacent to the gym and just across from the spa." - Taylor McIntyre Taylor McIntyre Taylor McIntyre is a senior visual editor at People Inc., working on Travel + Leisure and TripSavvy. Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur, Kuala Lumpur) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You’re left in no doubt as to just how high up you are at the Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur. Occupying the upper echelons of a striking curved skyscraper, it’s more urban than many of the brand’s retreats, but no less impressive. Floor-to-ceiling windows are a constant, from the bright and airy guestrooms to the signature spa. The highlight? A stunning rooftop bar from which you can see the Petronas Twin Towers lighting up the skyline." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel's rooms, lobby, and facilities were all quite luxurious. The location was excellent and convenient for getting anywhere. The soundproofing was better than many other luxury hotels I've stayed at, and the staff were all very warm and friendly. I could also see beautiful, bustling city views right from my room, making this one of the most lavish and satisfying hotels I've ever been to.||However, there were a few points that were very noticeable. The first was the drinking water. Although it was labeled "purified water," it did not seem very clean. Upon close inspection, I could see some dirt at the bottom. Was the bottle not rinsed properly? Was the filtration system old? Or had the cleaning staff not changed out the water for a while?||The second point was the carpets. While the essential oils placed in the hallways smelled pleasant and were a nice touch, they didn't completely mask the carpet smell. I could still faintly detect that "mature carpet smell."||Finally, I have to mention the breakfast. It was one of the most disappointing I've had among the luxury hotels I've stayed at. It wasn't very abundant or diverse.

I stayed 2 nights here with my wife and 2 year old son for our Anniversary.|Met by the wonderful Nana, we were afforded a wonderful cold towel and refreshing welcome drink.|We headed to our room a pleasant surprise upgrade on the 55th floor overlooking the KL skyline. A wonderful anniversary cake and banner awaited us in the room. Delightful!||Nana recommended torito and that was simply unbelievable, everyone from Chef Ivan, restaurant manager Paolo, and staff Saiful and others were spectacular. Torito was the most delightful culinary experience with mind blowing fusions.||Our breakfast at horizon was one of the best breakfasts we have had. Chen, Ali, Maria and Nash are the staff to take care of you. Spectacular customer service. ||You will not be disappointed with this hotel. |If I had to nit pick |Pool needs upgrading and heating |Horizons outdoor area could be updated |||Thanks to all the staff making our anniversary so special ||Book this place and it's restaurants. You won't be disappointed!

Convenient location with cover footbridge to big shipping malls. Reception was on 53th floor and guest rooms were all at high levels. Extremely spacious room. Breakfast with lots of choices, Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, English, American, European, you name it with free juice, coffee, and even sparkling wine. Spectacular view outside the restaurant. We have a great group photo with the help of Myna, the waitress. I must give credit to Myna and Nash for their warm and good services. We had great time for the 4 days we stayed.

Perfect place to unwind in KL city. Had a wonderful Balinese massage as soon as I checked in to set the tone. Service was impeccable and staff are helpful. Even the room service were delicious! I would recommend the char keow teow. The breakfast is wonderful and it’s more like a sit down buffet where you order anything you fancy and they will serve to your table. Food was exceptional for a hotel buffet breakfast standard! I recommend the nasi lemak with squid! Erwan was super attentive and helpful! Say hi to him for us if you’re there 😁

Really enjoyed my stay at Banyan Tree KL! The room layout is so thoughtful. Totally in love with the bathroom as it connects seamlessly to the bathtub, wardrobe, toilet, and dressing table, making it super convenient and luxurious. The pool almost feels private and the city view is stunning. Service is top-notch too with essential oils and incense sticks set up every evening at 6pm in our room. Breakfast options are quite limited so definitely an area for improvement but the view from Horizon Grill, where breakfast is served, is absolutely amazing.

Had such a wonderful lunch experience today! The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented, but what really made the difference was the amazing service. A very big thank you to Hakim, Nash, Marie and Rayna for their warmth and attentiveness throughout our visit. Each of them went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and comfortable—from recommending dishes, to serving with genuine smiles, to checking in at the right moments without ever making us feel rushed. Their teamwork and hospitality created such a positive atmosphere that turned an ordinary lunch into something truly special. It’s not just about good food, but the people who serve it with care, and today’s experience proved that perfectly. Definitely looking forward to coming back again!

A huge smile on her face, took care of very well and took photos and videos while dancing to our song too! ||The manager Mr Maideen has been a delight as well, he has been extremely helpful with everything! The Banyan Tree in KL is hands down my top choice for a place to stay. It's absolutely perfect for me. I have had the pleasure of staying there multiple times, and I can confidently say that it's worth every penny. You will never regret your decision to stay here, and the warm hospitality will make you feel right at home. ||Best wishes, |Shafeeq OMEIR

Yelp
This Banyan Tree has top notch facilities (very comfy bed and all) with some glitchy service, but overall a wonderful experience. Our room had a view on the iconic Petronas twin towers, and drew a bubble bath with rose peddles to surprise us. Delicious welcome cake as well as cards. Lots of balloons and rose pedals on our bed! Banyan Tree's 53rd floor pool was definitely a highlight, day and night. Their Vertigo bar on the rooftop is also great (though music not fitting the ambiance, venue, and was too loud). Breakfast on the rooftop was nice (small buffet but there's a menu to order various dishes). Service sometimes slow. Note: Very slow service both in terms of room service and service in all of their restaurants. A lot of miscommunication and dropped communication in their team (we had to repeated our requests, etc). For context we visited during the American Thanksgiving in November. Lots of Christmas decorations here and they love Bridgerton.

Yelp
This high-end, five-star hotel offers sweeping views of Kuala Lumpur from the 54th through 56th floors! Imagine falling asleep in your suite gazing through a bank of windows overlooking the stunning skyline including the Petronas Towers and Merdeka 118. Automatic drapes can be opened or closed from the comfort of your bed. You'll check in on the 53rd floor where you'll also find the spa, a well-shaded pool overlooking the city, and the excellent Torito restaurant offering Peruvian-Japanese fusion. Another all-day restaurant (your morning breakfast spot) is situated on the 58th floor, a bar is located on the 59th floor, and rooftop viewing is accessible on the 60th floor through the bar. Banyan Tree's exquisite rooms feature what may be the best shower we've ever experienced after traveling to 82 countries, and the shower even has different lighting choices to fit your mood! The service is unbelievable, and the employees are incredibly professional! Upon checking in, you even get to select the scents you want to smell in your room each night! Just a few negative aspects downgrade my rating from five stars to four. There was no way to plug in our phones next to the bed in our suite, so we had to recharge phones across the room. The breakfast is incredibly underwhelming, and the food at the 58th-floor restaurant in general is just awful. It is certainly not befitting of a five-star establishment, and even the unbelievable views from the dining room and balcony cannot mask the deplorable food here. You can't drink the water from the tap in any room, and the lack of a safe, filtered water tap that other upscale hotels have is surprising.

Yelp
Unforgettable night of margaritas and salsa dancing with the Petronas towers and sunset view in the background. Lively, international clientele and beautiful, thoughtful accommodations. Banyan Tree resorts are always a good idea, where ever you may find yourself around the globe.

Yelp
Wowza. Literally the nicest hotel I've ever stayed at in my life. A few key takeaways: -you're greeted with a scented cool hand washing town and housemade lemonade -guests choose a signature scent for their room which will be used during turndown service - our particular room was upgraded and featured an amazing tub and walk in shower overlooking the city with four shower heads -the rooms feature tons of complimentary amenities like Loofa Sponges, writing paper, coffee, tea, bath salts, mouthwash, etc. -guests are provided free welcome drink to be used at their in house bar (they also have the highest rooftop bar in Kuala Lumpur -58th floor...our room was on the 55th!) -the pool on the 53rd floor could not have a more incredible view of the city- stunning views of the Petronas Towers -this hotel just opened last year in KL- we were told it's a popular Asian high end hotel chain -large buffer breakfast is complimentary but we had to opt for the carryout boxes that they created for us (with coffee, juice and pastries) due to an early AM flight -this was our big splurge night of the trip after returning from the jungle and cost us $135 for the night Overall, this was one for the books.
