Banyans on the Green

This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had. The service was extremely poor from start to finish. Our bacon was undercooked and sent back twice before we finally gave up. We were also told after ordering that a menu item no longer comes with fries, despite it still being listed on the menu. It took 25–30 minutes just to get our drinks. What appeared to be the owner was visibly intoxicated, taking shots behind the bar with friends. When he came over to refill our water, he spilled and knocked over some of our glasses. The only positives were the bartender and our server, who did their best despite the chaos. Overall, this experience was unacceptable and we will not be returning.

Service was terrible. Food was worse. The fish came out of a freezer box. The clam chowder was cold and watery. My wife ordered a Caesar salad and it was made with head lettuce. The fish tacos are spicy, but the menu doesn’t say they’re spicy would never recommend this place.

Best clam chowder ever. I have ordered New England Clam Chowder all over the West US and this is the best. Clams were firm and not chewy. Soup is thick and not grainy. Perfect potatoes, not too many and just the right size. The Ceasar salad was good and fresh. The Lasagna Rolls were unique with a good Bolognese sauce. This is on the McCall Golf Course so the view from the restaurant is amazing. I ordered 2 bowls of the chowder to go. I will go there again as soon as I am anywhere near there.

Too much great food! I could only sample my appetizer, caesar salad, and the incredible mushroom stuffed ravioli entree. The food was great, our dining tour guide, Shane, was exceptional, and the view out the window was gorgeous. My second experience in a week did not disappoint--it just reaffirmed the quality experience.

Banyans recently catered a large event onsite in their beautiful tent for us. They have a great menu selection and the food and service were exceptional. We have also had Banyans cater off site in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I highly recommend Banyans.

I’ve never experienced worse service. I feel like I’m really good about giving people the benefit of doubt but the service here was so bad. We made reservations ahead of time for 22 people. Half of the restaurant was empty. When we arrived they split our tables and only acknowledged half of the party. After waiting about 30 min, half the party had food and drinks and the other half hadn’t even had a waitress stop at the table. We asked for menus and then ended up grabbing our own. They finally asked what drinks we wanted after 45 min. They wouldn’t take our food order at that time. 15 min later they grabbed more drinks for us, still wouldn’t take our order. The other half of our party was done eating. They finally took our food order. We told the half of our party that ate to go ahead and leave without us since we had plans later on in the night. Then after being there for 1 hour and 45 min they told us that they were out of half the things we ordered. We found out that they only had one of our meals done at that point. They didn’t apologize once. The bartender was talking about us to other costumers, how we walked in without notice and had screaming kids. Which neither was true. Literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced and no apologies or even acknowledgement that we were waiting.

Sorry. We came here and wanted to enjoy ourselves. The management needs to train people so they know what they're doing. Don't come for the ribeye special since you won't get it. But the table next to you will. Our server was lovely, but it was his first night. He asked for help from the other server and bartender several times but they gave him bad information. We had overcooked fish instead of steak. Once we could NOT get the rib eye special as we were told the website needed updated and they didn't have that, only to hear the next table order and get the rib eye special 30 minutes later. We ordered pasta with RED sauce and got white sauce which our friend can't eat. We made a reservation on Saturday for our dinner tonight (Thursday) and we looking forward to it. What a disappointment.

Tucked away in the trees and on the golf course is this great restaurant. Relaxing atmosphere with quality food and friendly service. We're not locals but after coming here for a week, the staff sure make you feel like one.

It's wonderful when a golf course restaurant has food other than hot dogs and hamburgers, Banyans fits that bill! Had a lobster/crab/shrimp melt that was sensational. Broiled on ciabatta bread that was toasted and topped with tomato and cheese. Epic! And while you're there don't forget the clam chowder, it's awesome ! Actually all their fish dinners rock!

Great food, home made pasta. Full bar including wine, beer and liquor. Large patio, partly covered, with outdoor heaters great for summer or winter hang out! Sunday brunch menu, lunch and dinner menu.

Worst hamburger I ever had. It tasted like the oil that it was cooked in was rancid, Never going back there. Fortunately I didn't get sick.

Nice getaway from the crowds! The service was great my daughter got the grilled cheese & tomato bisque and she said it was some of the best soup she had ever had, I got the Cobb salad and it was a nice portion and yummy as well the fries could use a little something but then again its fries.

This restaurant is hidden away from the main strip of McCall. We love it! The staff is fun, energetic, and helpful. We love the open patio are and big windows that look across the greens. While I enjoy this as a locals spot I would not mind rubbing elbows with a few more tourist. (Wink) stop on in and enjoy this awesome hidden gem!

Excellent place to hang out and have breakfast, lunch or dinner! Drinks on the deck overlooking the golf course are pretty darn nice too.  We really can't say enough of what hidden gem this place is for us that live here in McCall.  P.S. the French Onion soup is to die for!!!  Also friendly staff and the clientele always have smiles on their faces, which tells it all.

Someone else posted "hidden gem" and this place is just that! My girlfriend and I went for lunch and sat on the patio- BEAUTIFUL Views! Angela was super nice and provided great service! The atmosphere is casual and comfortable and the food was really good and served quickly. We had the mushroom burger, fish tacos and guacamole and chips. We will definitely be going back!

My wife and I went there for dinner and sat on the patio. There were about 4 tables with people total. The server, tall female with blonde hair, came out at least 4 times and did not come to our table. After 15 minutes of sitting without water or menus, I walked inside and asked her if we needed to come in to order. She said no, that she would be out to take our order. Went back to my table, waited 10 more minutes, and left. 25 minutes at table without any service or even given menus. This was after asking her how to order. I know the golf course has transferred to new management and it seems ok, but the service at the Banyans is not good. We won't be back.

We bought a home in McCall in Aug 2022 and found this fabulous restaurant early on. They have a great menu and surprisingly large children's menu. The French onion soup is to die for and the "Prime Rib" dinner beats some 5 star establishments.

Excellent. Welcomed by a very hospitable server, Traci. Had the clam chowder, which was as good as we've had, including Scoma's in San Francisco. Read that again. Yep - it is that good. My wife and I split fish and chips which was also very tasty - deep fried cod in panko with a delightful tartar sauce. The chef split for us on two plates which is another touch that gives this restaurant a top rating. Flat screens abound for sports viewing, going there again today for lunch and watch the playoffs. Afterward take a nice walk on plowed cart paths thru a winter wonderland with deer running around.

Service is poor but maybe it's the usu staffing issue these days. Food is pretty good, but now they have some electronic system so you don't get a bill to review and you don't get a rcpt when you ask for one. I think we were overcharged. I've called them 30 times so far today and the line is busy. My guess is that it's off the hook... maybe on purpose.

Excellent food, service, and price. We went back the following day for breakfast, which was equally great.

Fish & Chips were'okay' but nothing more than frozen fish. Clam chowder was pretty good.

The secret in McCall! On the golf course, and not local to downtown. Fantastic service, went there one day and had to go back! Their food was fantastic! Had their Saturday night prime rib special and loved it! Hannah, nice service! Keep up the good work!

Great little place! They've always been very accommodating. Nice ambiance and view. Everything has been good!

Best secret in McCall! The food has only improved, pricing is great and they have a full bar. Why is this place so empty?

This is such a horrible place to eat. I ordered a burger and fries and I ended up getting food poison. The waitresses are always on their phones, and their prices are ridiculous. I hope and pray no one ever eats there. Please save yourself and your stomach and go eat somewhere else.
