When we went to Barcelona last year we rented an apartment for 10 ways with Banys de Mar, and it was perfect! From making the reservation to the actual stay I have to say I totally enjoyed staying in an apartment rather than a hotel. The price was better, we had a little kitchen, a washer and dryer, and a lovely balcony to enjoy the evening breezes with a good bottle of cava and some yummy treats. I won't hesitate to stay with banys de mar any time I'm in barcelona for any extended time. Located in barceloneta, close to the beach, close to a market, never mind the food near by and within waling distance to so many great things why stay somewhere else? The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions and in so many small ways. Do yourself a favor, stay for a week or two and soak up all that you can, because it won't be enough and you'll want to come back for more. This is 5 stars not because it is a 5 star hotel, but because it was a great way to experience and enjoy Barcelona. The rooms are beautiful and well put together, but don't expect a mint on your pillow, go somewhere else for that.
