"Some Military History Danang has a strong association with the American War. It was here that US troops first landed, it had a major US airbase and it was a designated R&R spot for US troops. It is fitting then that the city is home to one of Vietnam's more interesting and comprehensive war museums. The museum is split into four sections including an outdoor display of military equipment, a military museum, a reproduction of Ho Chi Minh's house and a Ho Chi Minh Museum."

Excellent value at just 60k vnd. Two main parts to this museum; 1) Miltary Zone 5 (MZ5) Museum and 2) Ho Chi Minh Museum. The MZ5 museum is by far the larger of the two and more interesting to me with it's three floors of exhibition space containing many military artifacts and black & white photos of the war years against French Colonial rule and later American "Imperialism". The outdoor section of the museum is home to military hardware such as Tanks, Mortars and Aircraft. Two MiG 21's front the collection. I had the place to myself almost the whole time. Just one school group passed through briefly whilst I was there and greeted me enthusiastically.

I think you have to visit museums when you travel. Ho Chi Minh Museum was having some event on the day of our visit so there were areas we couldn't go to, but the main museum was open for us to go through. Three floors of memorabilia to soak in. Some parts were very emotional. There is an entrance fee of VND50.000 but totally worth it. A huge compound. We didn't even get to some parts of it. Definitely check the opening times as it is only open a few hours a day.

Old place but definitely worth a visit If you're into the history of the Vietnam American war and Ho Chi Minh. A fairly large range of US and Viet/Soviet/Chinese Tanks, Artillery, Vehicles and weapons on display inside and out. Entry is cheap and even cheaper on line. Make sure you check out the Ho Chi Minh Museum in a different building to main museum along with a replica of his house.

The static display of military vehicles was very good. There are 4 parts to the museum. Inside its 3 stories. We'll done. Everything has English translations.

The museum is very nicely done, the history of Vietnam and its struggle for freedom from occupiers was enlightening, As a American it was interesting to learn of the history of the Vietnam War from the Vietnamese perspective.

The tanks, artillery pieces and aircraft were very nicely preserved and it was worth the $2 USD entry. Inside was mostly pictures...

After doing the DMZ tour we're interested to understand more about the Vietnam war history. 60k D entry fee for two museums; Ho Chi Minh and the fifth military zone museum. One can buy the tickets at the entry gate and park your car/motorbike inside. Display of weapons, aircraft, tanks and carriage in the open area you cannot overlook. Inside have very informative and thought provoking photographs and artifacts. In the middle of two museums there is a replica of Ho Chi Minh's house. We visited in the afternoon. Almost no people. Enjoyed our visit. WC available. Bring water. I didn't see any water refilling machine and it's hot inside.

I think it's a nice place to visit, 60000 vnd at entrance. Around 1 hour to walk to check everything.
