This hotel is advertised as a 5-star property, and while the location is absolutely incredible and the hotel itself is stunning, the service we received was disappointing and closer to an unacceptable 4-star standard.||Unfortunately, cleanliness was a major issue throughout our two-week stay. We had cockroaches on the balcony, which is completely unacceptable at this level. Housekeeping was very poor — rooms were barely cleaned; floors were mopped but not once vacuumed, showers were never properly cleaned (they were filthy before we came in & were BLACK), and terrace tables were never wiped down in two whole weeks! Cleaning appeared rushed (no more than 30 minutes). ||The service experience was equally disappointing. In the restaurant and bar, staff often appeared irritated, making drinks with rolled eyes and an unwelcoming attitude. While limited in number, some staff members were excellent and genuinely so friendly, delivering the level of service you would expect. Breakfast was particularly unpleasant — staff were rude. Each day, if I arrived for breakfast with 15 minutes remaining before closing, I was told I would not be able to have breakfast and had to persevere and ask repeatedly to be allowed to eat. There was no hot breakfast room service available, and we were told we were not allowed to take food to our room due to “food poisoning risks,” yet lunch and dinner can be ordered to the room without issue, which makes no sense.||Room service also fell far below expectations. While the €15 fee is reasonable if service is professional, staff consistently entered our room without knocking and set the food down on a filthy table. That said, not all staff followed these rules, and a number of them were unbelievably lovely and very accommodating.||One incident was especially concerning. At around 7:15pm one evening, a tall male staff member barged into our room without knocking while we were on the bed getting ready for the gym. There was a clear Do Not Disturb sign on the door. He said nothing, simply saw us, retreated and practically ran out the door. My partner had to chase him to find out why he entered the room without even knocking. This was extremely uncomfortable and a serious breach of privacy. It left me consistently paranoid and concerned that when I was getting ready someone would barge in (either a member of staff from the BB lounge or reception). ||Additionally, a few members of staff at the BB lounge in the evenings were consistently rude and unwelcoming. Even when arriving around 20/30 minutes before closing and always leaving by 11pm or shortly after) some made us feel unbelievably uncomfortable and unwelcome. ||It’s a real shame because the hotel’s setting and design are genuinely stunning, and the location is perfect. My partner showed strong interest in investing in one of the properties both before and at the start of our stay, and he made enquiries and discussed this with one of the agents. We genuinely thought it would become a traditional holiday location that we would return to regularly during Tenerife’s peak season. However, a beautiful building does not make a 5-star experience. Until cleanliness, staff attitude, and basic guest privacy are addressed, this hotel does not meet the standards it claims to offer.
