"Nate Kuester and co-founder Jason Lui have opened BapBap, a Korean counter-service spot in Flushing’s New Age Market. The restaurant features a menu built around Korean dishes with a Michelin-starred background, including ssambap bowls and seaweed-wrapped rolls. Kuester, born in Seoul and adopted by an American family, brings a personal touch to the restaurant. BapBap offers takeout and local delivery, and there are plans for a potential night market in the parking lot." - Erika Adams

Nice little place inside an Asian supermarket. The spicy pork ssambap was amazing, and so were other dishes on the menu. Also loved their jujube drink. They have the best purple yam bread I have ever tasted! If you are a fan of purple yam, you have to try the bread.

This hidden gem is located on the side, right near the checkout of a supermarket. You can literally check out and purchase a light meal or dessert. I got their signature banana leaf ice cream ($4) and their ube bread ($5). The grilled banana leaf ice cream is normally served with almonds, sesame seeds and a gold flake, but since I was allergic to almonds they served it without the almonds (they even used a new spoon to accommodate, def a + in my books). The banana leaf ice cream (had a similar pandan aftertaste) was creamy and lightly sweet with notes of a little smoky taste. My absolute favorite was the ube bread. It was topped with a crumble-like sugar that compliments outer shell of the bread as well as the interior (which had a texture similar to an ube paste). Literally a 3-in-1 combo of soft, crunchy and moist. without an overwhelming amount of sweetness. Highly recommend to have with a cup of coffee or tea. Also, for the price of ($5), that bread was huge! Defintely worth it.

BapBap is a nice change in food options for this neighborhood. I've tried all of the ssambap dishes and they're all very tasty. Looking forward to trying the rest of their selection.

Lol not authentic. For non-Asians, this is a Chinese run Korean inspired Korean food. They love taking advantage of the current popularity of Korean pop culture and open up Korean restaurants and shops to profit off unassuming non-Korean/Asians. Smh los Chinos siempre son copiones!!

Unique spot inside the supermarket. Rice bowl was and rolls were awesome. Soymilk was an unexpected surprise! Very delicious with the cinnamon and yuzu. Service was great during this COVID19 era. Ube cake was the best thing you can get for $5.00. Great value for the quality and size of the cake. Do some grocery shopping and then stop by BapBap for some food to take home!

New little storefront in the Asian market in Flushing.. so glad me and my girlfriend decided to try it!!! Everything was amazing, from the purple Ube bread to our veggie ssambap with glazed mushrooms. Coffee milk is a must try and the banana ice cream was perfect touch of sweet at the end.. cant wait to come back to try the Bap Rolls!

I had a great experience at Bapbap. I tried several different items on the menu (shore shack Sando, tteobukki, kimchi rice croquette, and sweet potato jorim. Each item was an interesting combo of flavors and textures. The prices are affordable and portions are good. Looking forward to returning.
