This is hands down our favorite restaurant around… maybe ever. The food is delicious and the staff is great. We go all the time and we’ve never had a bad meal. Our go to food: Steamed chicken dumplings, dolsot bibimbop with beef, and Korean bbq chicken. Would recommend to everybody.

Standout spot. Really great food, good vibe, kind folks. Highly recommend. I got the spicy pork and it was awesome.

Go inside this wonderful establishment. Do not judge it by the outside cover. This was a gem of a find in my opinion. The Korean pork over rice was phenomenal. And the service was top-notch. I’m going to have to come back for the hot pot. But I did take home The dumplings to go. Delicious

How this restaurant does not have a line around the block is beyond me. This food is impeccable the chef clearly has a gift. We had fried and steamed pork dumplings 🥟, half and half chicken platter and the marinated spicy pork. Great portion size and the sides truly compliment the entree. They have a nice selection of Japanese and Korean alcohol. I’m sad I’m only visiting because this would be a regular date night for me. 10/10 hands down the best food I’ve had this trip.

I am Korean and very picky about Korean food, but I love this place!! I got the soondubu and my partner got the half and half chicken, and both were super great. Highly recommend! Service was also quick and friendly :)

This is probably my favorite restaurant, they never miss. From the appetizers (usually i get steamed dumplings) to the entree (i usually get the korean bbq chicken) it is amazing.The food is SO good amazing flavor always cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. Definitely stop by and give it a try you won’t regret it.

Great menu. My wife and I have been a half dozen times... our favorites are the scallion pancakes with kimchi, bulgogi, short ribs, dumpling soup, and ramen. The hot ginger tea is terrific. The staff is friendly; the atmosphere is simple and clean. My only complaint, the ramen's egg is hardboiled rather than softboiled. Next time I'll see if they'll make softboiled upon request

Very very good Korean food, be aware that the scallion pancake is delicious but it is about half it's weight in onions (which for me is fantastic, I love onions), the red sauce that it comes with is super super yummy! The cheesecake dumplings are kind of a crab rangoon type more than a dumpling dumpling but were still good

Don't be fooled by appearances. This unassuming spot in a strip mall is a haven for fantastic Korean food! The Korean fried chicken wings were SO CRISPY and the spicy sauce wasn't too spicy. Really balanced flavor and spice all the way. I also really loved the spicy chicken ramen. It wasn't too spicy either but beware that it can stain your clothes as you slurp away My cousin got the army soup and loved it (she had been here on several occasions before and noted it was one of her favorite dishes). I will be back!

Always happy with the food here. Usually get the dolsot bibimbap. Neighborhood gem!

Our party of 2 stopped in for dinner on a Friday night in September and lucked out with the last open table in the restaurant. It's an intimate space, with about 8 tables in the dining room. It was our second time there and we remembered the food being excellent. We were greeted by our server and immediately put in an order for the Korean Fried Chicken Wings. After a few minutes of looking into the rest of the menu, we also got a spicy pork and squid, and a tofu stew. The chicken wings came out in less than 10 minutes after ordered and they were massive pieces covered in a extremely flavorful sauce that had spice and sweetness. They were also still crunchy and we were saying how we could just eat them as the entire meal- they're that good. After we cleaned our faces and hands, the entrees arrived and each came with an array of accompaniments on a tray. The spicy pork came with lettuce to make wraps and some sauces as well, and the tofu stew came with a bowl of rice amongst other goodies. They were both excellent, the stew was comforting and the spicy pork and squid had a fiery kick. As excellent as the food was last time, we felt it was even this time and are eager to go back to Bapsang- especially when the weather is a little colder and its stew season.

So happy that Bapsang is close by. It's definitely in a nondescript plaza that's easy to drive by. Inside it's small, but cozy and bright. Service was friendly and incredibly fast. Love the bonchon that they serve with your meal. We started with the dumplings and then got the katsu don and the short rib soup. I'd order everything again! The short rib soup was in one of their hot pots so it did stay steaming hot throughout the entire dinner and the katsu don had the perfect crunch. There are plenty of other things I'd like to try next time like their ramen and Korean fried chicken.

The restaurant name, Bapsang, has an awe-inspiring backstory rooted in the Korean tradition of building a meal around rice. On the way back from Port Juliet, we found this charming little Korean spot and were so excited to try the dishes. ===== RATING: B- ===== [FOOD: 5/10 ] General Comments: - Their soups seem strictly curated and are not chicken friendly! Most will have pre-set protein options except for the Soondubu (Tofu Stew) - Banchan (side dishes) are limited in options with only 3 underwhelming plates of sweet potato, cucumbers in a spicy sauce, and lettuce with minimal drizzling of a dressing Silken Tofu Salad - 3/10 It was presented beautifully so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, this dish did not meet them. While the salad was refreshingly cool and tossed seamlessly, it lacked flavor. I wish it would've had a small bit of gochujang or some additional dressing to kick it up a bit. I would definitely not get it again. Hotpot Bulgogi Stew - 5/10 I was brave today and wanted to try something I hadn't seen before on the menu at a Korean restaurant. This soup has only a couple of main ingredients: bulgogi (beef), mushroom, carrots, onions, and glass noodles. The broth was flavorful with notes of both savory and sweet. However, beef was inconsistent in texture with some pieces soft and some overly chewy and tendon-y. It was alright overall, but I don't think I'd get it again. [SERVICE: 8/10] Great service! Our servers were kind, respectful, and attentive. The food came out fast and piping hot. [AMBIANCE: 8/10 ] The inside is considerately decorated with pretty paintings and beige-toned decorations. The noise volume is not too loud or too quiet. The food is served on pretty wooden trays fittingly complimented with gold metal silverware. [OVERALL: 7/10 ] For what the restaurant lacks in culinary flair and true authenticity, it makes up for with attention to aesthetic detail and quality service. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant with reliably great food to frequent, this place might fall short. However, it's fine for a single-time checkout for hungry out-of-state visitors like us. If I do come back, I'll try the wings. They seem to be pretty popular so maybe this is what people come here for.

I love Bapsang's food. It's always a 10/10. Especially the KFC wings, and a lot of the Korean BBQ. The japchae! Yum. However.... There are two different experiences you might get when sitting down at Bapsang: A. A calming experience, nice quiet space overall with lovely piano music playing- staff is friendly- service overall is great for the most part or B. The most grating pop music you'll hear in your life, making for a charged ambience; as the music is really hyper and high energy... making it hard to focus and relax on all sides it seems; wether it's with staff or customers. If you're someone who's kinda mellow and can't take hyper/high energy pop music I would just beware of this and order your stuff to go (I don't have anything against this music in an environment that makes sense, it's just A LOT for when you're trying to relax and have a nice meal) I'm grateful for Bapsang, and will always order food from there... to go; unless the calmer piano music is playing

Hidden gem in real life Was visiting this place after a long time. Our initial visit was just ok, due to modest ambience and not so impressive taste. Visited again yesterday and was mind blown with the quality of food, presentation and ambience of the place. We tried spicy fried rice, Korean ramen and bibimbap and all 3 dishes were outstanding. Will be back again to try other dishes from the menu

This is a little gem in all sense of the word. Nestled in an unlikely spot of Rhode Island Bapsang is great. Food is solid and presentation with the individual side dishes for the individual diner just works. This was out second time to Bapsang and I tried their hot stone bi bim bap. I normally don't get bi bimbap since we have it pretty often at home but we don't do a stone bowl so I decided to go for it. It's got a nice mix of fresh vegetables, egg and meat. You can of course customize it to your liking. I love the crunchy rice that you get from the hot bowl. The sides are okay. My kid got the Kalbi which was seasoned really well and well caramelized. My wife got the ossam bulgogi which is her absolute favorite. I think the one knock for bapsang is that they don't give the traditional kimchi as a side. It's the cucumber kind which isn't really fermented and just a bit too fresh and fish saucy for my taste. I understand why they do it however. I think regular kimchi can be a big source of waste for a restaurant. But it would be nice for it to be an option. I always order a bottle of green apple soju to complete the meal. It fills the role of alcohol and dessert for me. A double win. 5 stars Bapsang.

Lovely restaurant; lots of atmosphere. Bit pricy for what you're getting. Definitely a good place to treat yourself or take guests.

Great ambiance with food to match. I got the kimchi hot pot and it was very good. If I lived locally I would be here all the time.

Yum! A definite Korean jewel! We took a lovely drive to Newport, Rhode island which is amazing! After that we were quite hungry and son wanted Korean food. We were lucky to find this small Korean restaurant not far away. They have a small parking lot and from the outside just looked like an ordinary restaurant but wow! Step inside to find an amazing peaceful, relaxing little gem. Beautifully decorated. The service was very good and fairly fast. THE Food was so delicious. My katsu was light and crispy, not oily at all. The hot plum wine was wonderful and they gave refills. Son's loved his spicy pork and hubby loved his hot noodle dish. The ban chan was also very good! Everything was wonderful and we would love to come back if we're ever in the area again!

Small, charming local restaurant that has super pleasant staff and a good sized menu. My first visit here I was impressed by the presentation of the meals on individual platters with small serving dishes with the condiments. Servers were attentive and kind. Kimchi was delicious...nicely marinated and flavorful with a tangy kick. Our main entrees were good but not great. I had the Bapsang Ramen. Lots of noodles and braised beef but the broth was lacking flavor and richness. We also had the bbq beef which was more braised than bbq. It was our first time here and based on the other reviews, thinking it was an off night. Would be willing to give this spot another chance based on the service alone.

Staff is very friendly and attentive. Small, cozy, and clean inside. The food is very authentic except banchan can be alittle better, my husband doesn't eat cucumber, to our surprise Korean food no kimchi banchan is minus 1 star.

We ordered Bapsang for pickup last week and let me tell you what- I am so glad we did because I remember stopping in when they first opened and not being very impressed. Maybe it was because they've established themselves now, but the food was perfect even as a to go order. We got the beef bulgogi and the KFC wings and honestly it was plenty for two pepole to split and be full. The KFC wings are the star of the show though lets be hinest. Krispy fried chicken with this sweet and spicy sauce thats not overpowering... I dont know what else to say except try them. If you dont know a thing about Korean food, start with the wings and try the bulgogi. You will want to try more after that, be adventurous and do it. Food is bomb here.

Revisited Bapsang after a few years after graduating college and also post-pandemic. The restaurant still looks the same. Small, cozy, friendly, and familiar. I dined alone, however, this time. I ordered the vegetable mandu, which wasn't the most exciting but was still good for a light appetizer. For an entree, I ordered the stone-pot Bibimbap with spicy pork. It was super filling. I was almost full and had only gotten through half the pot. The banchan changes seasonally. I liked the pickled cucumber and sweet potatoes that I had. For dessert, I tried the Honey Toast. Absolutely delicious. My favorite part of my meal. I was in between choosing the other desserts on the menu as well. Overall, Bapsang would be good to visit for authentic Korean food in the area for a tiny group (2-4 people).

We went here and found the restaurant very small but cozy. The staff was friendly and I really appreciated the copper/tin cups and plates that our food came on. I really love Japchae (glass noodles) and I would recommend it. I forget exactly what my partner got but it was some kind of hot pot soup which was ok.

On our trip here, I wanted a soothing soup and my hubby discovered Bapsang online. I'm always down for a good Korean meal. It's a small place with a few tables. The staff was kind and attentive to every patron. Decent parking spots outside. I'm glad we came early because it filled up fast. Each dish you order comes with a tray and banchan (side dishes). Their banchan appears smaller but that's because its in individual portions versus the bigger dishes served at NYC Korean restaurants. It's a cute presentation, each with soup or salad and the side dishes. We ordered the jap chae, bibimbap, and galbitang. All delicious! There's less meat in the galbitang compared to spots at home but the broth was good. Also ordered a ginger tea and it was the perfect touch of spicy and sweet. Bathroom is clean and all the way in the back. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Excellent, reminded me of a place from my days in San Francisco - Arts Cafe - BapSang is delicious. I love the simplistic natural decor that says peace and enjoy the flavors of the food

I ordered bibimbap with tofu. I have been to this restaurant and I think their soft tofu stew is good. But I am a bit disappointed at bibimbap. First, one side dish plate was broken. Restaurant should not use these broken plate to serve food. Sauce for the bibimbap is good. The veggies for bibimbap was less pickled flavour than what I will normally get from other Korean restaurants. Also there was no kimchi in bibimbap or on the side. Definitely feel something is missing at this dish. It's pity. I will still go back to this restaurant, but may not have bibimbap again. I still give them four stars for review, because the food I had at last visit was good.

Dang. For what it is it is so good. I've never been inside but the take out is amazing. For perspective, my brother who lives in NYC where you can get anything at any time always suggests this place when he visits.

Looking for something new to try & so glad we came! Inconspicuous strip mall... yet lovely inside. We tried the steamed pork dumplings- delicious & gone in a flash! Followed with BBQ pork & a beef hotpot. Even tried the Korean wine. Service was friendly & helpful. Will come again.

I can't say enough about Bapsang. It's definitely my comfort food. I usually get the kimchi ramen. It's out of this world. So flavorful it just hits the spot. I also love their fried dumplings and honey bread. Recently though I saw a review about their beef bone soup and its healing properties and I was intrigued. Fast forward I caught the stomach bug. I literally couldn't think of anything I wanted to eat and then remembered the review about their beef bone soup. I had my husband grab me some and let me tell you, it worked. I literally lived off of it for two days and it was the only thing that made me feel better. If you're under the weather the beef bone soup is such a life saver. Honestly it's my favorite place.

We come here often and my favorite dish is probably the KFC -- Korean Fried Chicken. We also enjoy their crispy fried shrimp -- or more like huge prawns -- slapped with flavor that comes over a bed of crispies which is probably for garnish but it felt edible so we ate it anyway. We've ordered their scallion pancakes -- which can be inconsistent but the flavor makes up for it. I've ordered their ramen, chicken thigh dish, seared tuna which I couldn't finish b/c they gave such a generous portion! I've tried their pork bulgogi and beef bulgogi -- I'd say I like the beef one more. ooOOh, I love their honey bread dessert!!!! There was one night where I ordered the honey bread but the chef ran out! SO they allowed me to order another dessert on the house. That was a very generous gesture and also one of the reasons why we keep returning. Great customer service!

Consistently delicious and fresh. Small quaint atmosphere. The service has always been friendly and good.

Got the soondubu with kimchi and beef which was delicious! Piping hot, came with the egg dropped in and perfectly cooked rice on the side. I think the server I had may be new because she asked what soondubu was when I ordered it and didn't check in at all throughout the meal or refill my water. Would definitely come again though because the soondubu was great!

On our way home from the beach at beautiful Goddard Park, we were surprised to find this delightful, unpretentious little Korean restaurant in North Kingstown, right on the border with East Greenwich. I ordered the Korean BBQ Mushroom; I'm not a vegetarian, but THIS is unbeliievably one the tastiest vegetarian dishes I've ever had!! So annoyed my daughter ate over half of my food!!! Understandably, she couldn't help herself :D Will go back to try the Beef Bone Soup, "Long hours boiled ox bone with thin slices of lean beef, creamy white broth with scallions, egg and sweet potato noodles." Sounds so good and good for you; I discovered that bone broth has healing properties for the body. Also, oxtail meat, to me, is a delicacy--mildly flavorful and very tender. This is the only Korean restaurant I've been to that serves Yuzu, a Citron honey flavored tea (choice of cold/hot). Tried it for the first time and I am hooked!! It was quite soothing during the rainy summer evening and began to crave it. So excited I managed to find the marmalade concentrate in the tea section at an Asian store called Kam Man in Quincy, MA. (I just mix it w/ water (cold/hot) and add honey powder for extra sweetening). I really appreciate how authentic and impressively well-made the food is. I would DEFINITELY drive down over 1/2 hour just to eat at Bapsang!!

We adore this place and are thrilled they've decided to open for dine in service Friday & Saturday nights. They seem to do a huge takeout business so I'm sure it's not easy. We live quite a distance so it's a treat to eat their great Korean specialties while they are piping hot. The service here is always friendly and great. We ordered the irresKorean fried chicken wings to start. Then the squid & pork belly lettuce wraps. Plus sundubu jigae was really warming in a cold night.

Simple setting, but the food and service is great. I have tried almost everything on the menu and enjoyed all. They were all good. The prices are also quite reasonable.

This is a small establishment that offers a simple esthetic and an authentic experience. What it lacks in ambience it up in cleanliness, great service and above all delicious food. We loved the KFC wings, the lunch special was on point and the hot pots bubbling as they should be with goodness.

My wife and I were here on vacation and this was one of our favorite places we ate at. Everything we got tasted amazing, was cooked perfectly and the portion sizes were great too. Honestly, we really wish that this restaurant was located back home because we keep craving their food and we visited months ago. I definitely recommend trying the wings, army stew and the Korean BBQ beef.

Who knew Providence had legit K food? I grew up in a small town outside of Busan and then moved to the US. Now I'm at Brown and was looking for some good K food. OMG! This place is da bomb! Just like home. You won't be disappointed and the staff is tops! The good is sooooooo good! Will be back! epic!!!!!!

Fantastic Korean food!! Great service and a pleasant atmosphere. We had the Bapsang special and it was generously portioned and flavorful. Also, the yuzu tea was amazing!!

Cute and quiet little shop in a small suburban strip mall, doing a brisk takeout business from the looks of it. Takeout bags stacked up by the window with a steady stream of patrons during the time we were there. The Signature Bibimbap of rice, meat (in my case Beef), fried egg, bean sprout and cabbage was really nicely done. The rice cooked to a perfect fluff and the strip beef still tender with a spicy finishing bite. The tasty sides also a nice touch, spicy Kimchi Zucchini and pretty little glazed Sweet Potato bites. I had been tempted by the promise of the house named KFC (Korean Fried Chicken), but a mixed order of the Half & Half Chicken, half boneless KFC and half DAKKANGJUNG left me wanting. I strongly preferred the savory soy flavors of the Dakkangjung. The KFC had none of the really lovely spice found in the beef of my earlier dish, and the battered chicken had lost all of its crispness in the too sweet sauce. I may give it a go with actual Korean Fried Chicken wings on a subsequent trip, it is a really short distance from the house, and I'm always looking for a good takeout fix.

So good!!! I have never had Korean food, and can say I will never NOT have it again. Very simple place in a store front, but don't let that deter you from what's inside :) I got a hot stone rice dish it was so good! I definitely will be coming back to this gem!

This food, the service and the people are amazing. My first visit and I WILL ABSOLUTELY return. I had the "Korean Style Fried Rice" with no meat. The presentation, flavors and overall food quality were as amazing as you can get. This restaurant is a real gem for Rhode Islanders. I can't wait to try more dishes at this restaurant.

An authentic and delicious Korean meal! I got the bulgogi and it was great! Also had the yuza iced tea which was so yummy! Great find, can't wait to go back!

I have been eating Korean food for a very long time and eaten in the NYC area and even made my own. So I feel comfortable saying this chef is special! We were passing through the area and were in search of good Korean food. We were not disappointed. We order Mandu dumplings (beef steamed) and Korean scallion pancake for appetizer. And I ordered Bibimbap dolsot (hot stone pot ). My son ordered Galbi Review Dumplings ( I will finish this later tonight but this place is special)

This is opening day, so wasn't sure what to expect, but it was an amazing experience! Traditional Korean made with class and heart. I ordered the Kimchi Jjigae (stew), one of the best I've ever had. Right amount of spice and heat. The stewed Beef was a welcomed unexpected surprise. I noticed that they have the Army jjigae (stew). Which is a more hearty and meaty version, popularized by famous mukbangs on YouTube. Listening to the chef, he makes his own Kim Chi and the quality and care of the ingredient shows in the final cuisine and you even get a taste of it in the ban cha (side dish). Overall, new place. Especially for Southern RI, that is in desperate need of more authentic Asian cuisines.

So this was my first time eating Korean food. I ordered the Korean Chicken BBQ. Wowza! Great flavor, tender chicken, perfectly done white rice and their sauce was delicious. Service was very good. Nice wait staff and attentive. I'll definitely be back to try another dish.

I had the pleasure of dining at Bapsang this past Friday and the restaurant was packed with individuals enjoying their meals. The hostess/owner was conscientious and kind, and brought us complimentary appetizers while we waited for our meals. I am not a kimchee fan but my boyfriend loved it. The cucumber side was delightful! The green tea was served nice and hot and the Beef Bulgogi, which we both ordered, was beautifully presented, delicious, and filling. I am thrilled to have a new, family-run Korean restaurant in our neighborhood, and I look forward to returning soon.

Kind of a hole-in-the-wall but the food was amazing. Right spice level for. Wished the kimchi trio was a set of three kimchis, but it had unfortunately only one kind. The accompanying pickled items were yummy but still. Beware of the egg pancake. It's big and might fill you up, as it did for me :-/. The hot pot was excellent. Truly worthwhile if you're the area.

Odd. First time going to a Korean restaurant with no ban chan?? I feel like this place is catered to the demographic in NK versus authentic Korean cuisine. Pales to many good places in Providence but it isn't bad. I think locals will love it but die hard Korean cuisine enthusiasts may think otherwise.

Bapsang is a wonderful addition to the area! We were in desperate need of a Korean restaurant, and they did not let us down. We had the kimchi sampler, veggie dumplings, hot pot, and bibimbap (both with tofu). All of it totally delicious. Staff was friendly and one of the chefs came by our table to better explain how to eat our dishes authentically, which was appreciated. My only complaints are the service being a tad slow and the small size of the establishment. We went on a Thursday evening and had no issues with waiting, but my companion had been on a Friday night previously and said the place was a madhouse. Thus, I'd recommend maybe go during the week or order takeout on the weekends, but to definitely go!!

Love this small little place! Super yummy KFC. Love the crunch and taste. We usually get the sauce on the side. Everything else is good also! I always get the spicy pork bulgogi and eat the whole thing. The entrees come with their little side dishes. My fav is the sweet potato!! It really helps with the spice. Definitely our go to when we're in the area.

Take out.... Pajeon, Japchae, beef bone soup......all delicious !!! So lucky to have it close by...
