Vista Ostuni, Puglia, Italy, Hotel Review

"Set lobby-side, the Chiostro Bar is anchored by a colossal, bottle-lined back-bar arch and presented as a modern interpretation of the classic Italian bar—an easy spot for pre-dinner drinks or aperitivo." - Nicole Trilivas Nicole Trilivas Nicole Trilivas is a British-American writer based in London, covering luxury travel and food and drink. My full-hearted honest review, is that this IS a five-star establishment and does operate on the level of one (at least the night I was there). Upon arriving, I was greeted by every employee the moment they saw me. The French girl behind the bar (I forget here name) was professional and helpful. However, it was Vito who really was the highlight of the experience. He went above and beyond for not only me, but also for the couple of gentlemen next to me. I could tell he made their night as well. His energy really brought up the vibe in the bar, and he was always smiling. The only thing I would have really liked was if someone was playing the piano. Overall it was a great experience.

We went to the because dinner reservarions weren’t available by the time we were planning our trip to Taormina, but we really wanted to visit and see the hotel after White Lotus. Bar was what we expected - food was good and drinks were well presented. Staff was super nice and we ended up having a great evening. Bar was calm and not croweded, which was also a plus! Hotel building is lovely and historical - worth the visit.

We had reserved a table at the bar for drinks, but unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. The cocktails were quite basic—I’ve had far more refined and creative versions in places where they cost just €6, not €24. Service also left much to be desired. For example, when a waiter was going around turning on small lamps at each table, he inexplicably skipped ours. Similarly, another staff member was checking in with guests to see if everything was alright, but he passed by our table twice without a word. While I understand we weren’t staying at the hotel, it felt quite dismissive to be overlooked so openly. As for the venue itself, it’s not particularly impressive—more like a small garden with no view to speak of. In contrast, we had our dinner later at Timeo Hotel & Restaurant (Belmond, LVMH), and the experience there was exceptional. The staff were genuinely warm, the setting and views were stunning, and both food and drinks exceeded expectations. It truly felt like a luxury experience. If you are on vacation in Taormina, go there for sure! All of this leads me to believe that this hotel is popular mainly because of the tv show, not because it offers anything remarkable. Unfortunately, the staff seemed unaware of what true luxury service entails—treating every guest with the same level of respect and attention, regardless of whether someone is dressed head-to-toe in Hermès or casually in a tank top and shorts.

The perfect setting for aperitivo in Taormina. Set within the beauty that is San Domenico Palace’s historical cloister, with live music and a great ambience all around. Amazing selection of drinks including cocktails and mocktails and all delicious. A must visit spot for a late afternoon drink while in Taormina !

Nice establishment and lovely view. Fun that you can have a drink where white lotus was filmed - looks the same! The staff was polite and professional but they did not check on us as often as we would have liked- we often waited to order more drinks or food for a bit. Additionally, the drinks are outrageously priced for what they are. I suppose that comes with the territory. All in all a nice experience.

We loved the beautiful setting tucked inside a peaceful courtyard — ideal for a relaxed evening. Also the barman was also the same one that featured in White Lotus season 2. Cool to see and meet. The tapas menu was delicious and varied. Friendly service and a refined yet laid-back vibe with live music from around 7pm too when we were there. Highly recommend for an aperitivo or a memorable night out in Taormina 🍷🎶💫

The outdoor space here is incredible. Palm trees, great lighting, comfortable seats, all surrounded by lovely architecture. The cocktails were very well made, and the dried fruit they served with the cocktails was very flavourful. Live music and the general atmosphere was great, but we struggled with cigarette smoke.

We had a lovely experience at this bar at Taormina's four seasons. The staff was friendly and discreet, the atmosphere was relaxing (plus the building is stunningly beautiful!) All cocktails we ordered were great in taste, well-balanced and nicely presented, although maybe not the best mixologist bar in the world. Would come back here anytime :)
