Just a wonderful place in a small town on the way from etna to taormina / giardini naxos. Stopped by a family of 4 for lunch. We picked this one specifically pretty much randomly because it doesn't close at 1500.
We had the mixed salumi / cheese platter which was HUGE for what it cost. The cheeses and cold cuts were really high quality and the honey and marmalade accompanying it were on point.
We had one portion of pasta ragu which has real slow cooked beef that just fell apart when you touched it plus some sausgae pieces. We also had mixed grill plate which was a hearty portion containing a pork chop, a sausage, a homemade pork kebab and a very tasty piece of what seemed like a pork escalope wrapped on a scallion. We also had 2 portions of lamb chops that were fresh and nicely grilled.
For dessert we had salami de cacao and a tiramisu which was also twice as large as what we expected and very airy.
So overall, food is delicious, prices are VERY fair like 4 euros for dessert, 1 euro for espresso, 2 euro for a beer and 16-18 euros for mains. And the portions are HUGE. 100% the best meal we had in sicilia. And service is super friendly.
