They allow dogs. We had a nice dinner with 3 different types of fish and the risotto and all tasted great. The desserts and wine recommendations were also really nice. We had. Great time here.

Amazing place with so many different rooms and atmospheres. The food is SO good, it will just make you happy! I ordered a seafood platter and I am not a big fan of the "bulots" (BIG sea snails), but these were the most delicious I have ever tasted. If you take a trip to La Rochelle the magnificent, you have to pair it with a food break at Bar André! 😍

Very nice address in la Rochelle I discovered through my cousin, oysters were fresh and tasty, and the moules a la charenraise delicious. I recommend you ask to be on the port side, the view is better.

Celebrated my 70th birthday with my wife, can only praise the food and the service Eat indoors in the classy side and enjoy the service one would have enjoyed in years past. As a fish restaurant it delivers on the nose, the wines offered add to the experience Needless to say, if I return to La Rochelle, I will return to André to enjoy the taste of the sea and the times when eating out was a pleasure

We came to Bar André at the recommendation of some people we highly trust. We were not disappointed. Even though we arrived early for our reservation, we were treated promptly and kindly. Our French was a bit slow, but the wait staff was patient and allowed us to continue in French, even if switching to English would have been faster We ordered the Royal André and ate some things we had never seen before. It was a grand experience. We had three different people serve us, but the only one whose name I can remember is Michael. All three of them were great!

I don’t know why the mash is a bit sour probably with lemon. And the seafood is just disappointing. Doesn’t taste fresh to be honest. it’s not that busy I don’t know why the service is just… It’s better to deal with customers before setting new tables especially when it’s 22:00 and you’re almost closing. Need to tell them 4 times and more than 40 minutes to get the bill and the takeaway. When it’s only 9 tables !?!?! With more than 5 servers. I’m impressed. I worked in restaurants, so I do know about how to make things smooth. Hope their staff training can be improved. I feel disappointed when my local friend recommended me this is the best place to have seafood….

Exceptional sea food in a slightly dated restaurant with poor service. We ate here on a Thursday night in October, it was quiet but the staff still managed to ignore us and forget parts of the order.

We have just tried to get a table in Andres for lunch. We asked to sit outside because the sun was shining and we were directed to the back of the restaurant in the street which was dark and no sun. When we said we wanted to sit at the front we were told no and then promptly shouted at when we asked where we were sitting! We are English and we do try to speak French but it’s the first time we have been made to feel like second class citizens and made to feel very unwelcome so we left!!! We will not be returning anytime soon

Yelp
The most wonderful fresh seafood we had during our visit to the Atlantic coast of France. For an appetizer we had the 3 oysters au gratin, a local speciality... so tender and fresh! Our dinners included the Hake with chorizo and a flavorful cream sauce of piquillo peppers, and the famous Mouclade ... the dish that was the reason for eating here in the first place! This is from local muscles in a cream curry sauce and delicate medallions of Crepinette sausage. Both were incredible! My muscles came, naturally, with perfectly executed fries as well. This was a dinner we were anticipating for weeks as we planed our trip, and it definitely exceeded expectations, which were already high! The service was polite and efficient. We combined this evening with a water taxi ride from port de Minimes to Vieux port La Rochelle and a stroll down the buaeutiful historic streets and the city ramparts towers that held firm against the siege of 1628 for so long. Historic town, classic restaurant, a wonderful evening, and a definite place to return on our next visit!

Yelp
We were impressed with this place, even though it seemed to cater to tourists with its boat theme. But the food was good and the service was excellent. My husband ordered the Caesar salad and didn't realize it included chicken (which he doesn't like in salad), so he picked out all the chicken. The server asked if there was a problem with the chicken and he said no, he just didn't want it. Soon the manager came over to ask again about the chicken and even offered us free dessert. We were impressed with this attention to a possible problem, and will definitely return there on our next visit to La Rochelle.
