Bar Betsie

I was super happy to be able to sneak here on a Friday night, our prior attempt when they first opened was unsuccessful so it felt very satisfying! I love Jane Jane so was excited to check out Bar Betsie. Like Jane Jane, they have a well curated, creative cocktail list on par with JJ. It's dimly lit but rich and vibrant at the same time, the pink neon structure at entrance to the back is a nice touch. Great addition to the Union Market district, definitely raises the cocktail game there.

The little bar is so cool! I love the vibe in here. My friends and I were visiting DC for the weekend and made a point to take the subway over here. The drinks were so good. We even got the buffalo chicken dip and it was so tasty!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 20/10 Experience My experience at Bar Betsie in Union Market was absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming. The crafted cocktails were beyond delicious—thoughtful, balanced, and clearly made with care. The vibe? Warm, cozy, sexy, and perfectly suited for a cold winter night. Special shoutout to Jessica, the Assistant General Manager, who was super friendly and truly amazing from start to finish. Her hospitality made the entire evening feel intentional and elevated. An exceptional experience all around—I’ll most certainly be back again.

Bar Betsie is evrrything you’d want in a bar. From cocktails to vibe to bar snacks to location, there’s a lot to love about Bar Betsie. My friend and I went on a Thursday evening at 8:30pm and sat in the very last booth in the back. Here’s our experience. 1) Drinks: I ordered the Midnight Bloom and their frozen hibiscus pina colada. Both were refreshing and sweetly balanced. The hibiscus pina colada was my favorite. It’s super unique and not very pineapple-y. 2) Food: A bowl of cheese puffs was on our table for free. So fun! They have six small bites on the menu. I ordered the pretzel and queso and little smokies. The queso for the bowl of pretzel bites was very good. The little smokies was so good that I ordered another round. 3) Service: Despite being busy, staff were quick and friendly. 4) Space: Its dark and small, but they did a great job with the layout and vibe. It’s a beautiful bar with a fun neon arch over the door leading to the restrooms. 5) Neighborhood: It’s in the busy Union Market area. Parking can be hard to find at time, but there’s a free lot in front of Union Market and two garage parking lots with free parking for the first three hours.

Bar Betsie is an incredible and much-needed addition to Union Market! It has such a great ambience, and the service is top-notch! A group of us went last week and really enjoyed the cocktails and conversation with some of the staff. Given its proximity to all the hottest new restaurants, I have no doubt this place is going to be a huge success. It’s clear everyone is excited about this great new spot. We’re lucky to have them in the neighborhood!!!

I went here on November 23rd and honestly had one of the worst service experiences in a long time. My friends and I came in around 9:30pm and were greeted fine by the host, who told us there would be a wait (which we expected). He told us to stand in the waiting area by the side tables on the right. A server came by and asked if we wanted drinks, so we ordered some. The drinks came out, but we never got the complimentary cheese balls. After waiting over an hour while still STANDING, we saw multiple other groups get seated while we were still standing there waiting. The host clearly knew what was going on and avoided us since he wouldn’t even make eye contact. We eventually talked to another staff member who said he’d talk to the host, but he never came back. Paying was also a mess because no one really communicated with us at all. Overall, the experience was super frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend this place and would honestly suggest going to the Lucy Mercer bar right next door for a much better time and service.

Love the vibe of this place. Easy to get to from Union Market. The drinks were awesome and the bartenders were on point. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing atmosphere, staff and the best drinks!!! It’s 💯 recommended if you want to have a great time and some great cocktails. My new favorite spot at Union Market!
