"A Bar That Never Closes (Or So They Say) Perched on the northern (and safer) edge of Parque Lezama, a leafy green park that separates tourist-friendly San Telmo with the meaner streets of La Boca, Bar Británico is the real deal - a no-frills corner bar with a long history in the neighborhood. The bar is supposedly open 24 hours a day, meaning it's fit for any time you happen to be in the barrio: cortados and medialunas for breakfast, hearty meat and potatoes at lunch, cake and tea in the afternoon, a glass of the house wine anytime. This isn't gourmet fare, mind you, but real food - with prices, and satisfyingly gruff service - to match."

Excellent local bar and food. On our way back from Parc Lezama and Boca Juniors stadium, we popped into 'Bar Britanico' on the corner of Defensa and Brasil for dinner. Hard to miss! What a good choice that was. The restaurant is large and airy with large windows where you can watch the world go by. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had one of the best meals during my stay in Buenos Aires - and it was very inexpensive. Improved, of course, with a Patagonia Amber ale - our drink of choice whilst there. Highly recommended.

One of the so-called "Bares Notables" (noticeable bars) in Buenos Aires. Its attractive relays on being among the former bars of the city. Try out the Salame Sandwich or the Matanbre Sandwich: two classics.

This place was a lovely little find! We were initially put off by the name, as it sounded like an English pub. The last thing we wanted when travelling abroad! Turns out the story is much different, in that it is named as such because of all the English officers who used to frequent the venue in its colonial past. Yes, the place is ancient but still brings a great nostalgic vibe to be enjoyed over breakfast. Service is excellent, even if little English is spoken but hey, this is why we travel! Worth a visit, for sure 👍

This lovely pub is just 1 block from my bnb, went for lunch and was not disappointed. Waiters spoke good English, charming outdoor area as well as inside pub seating. Pasta was homemade and fresh, a sort of ravioli filled with ricotta and topped with homemade pesto, delicious, filling and very inexpensive. I may go back today. Highly recommend.

Martin is a great server. Big portion, we shared a chicken milanese. Sat by the window. Great atmosphere, away from high overtourism.
