Bar Celta Pulperia

Do not order sangria jar at €18. Cannot even fit into 4 cups full but only half of it. Because it is full of ice We ordered one full cup of sangria to compare. Cost is 4eur. Better to order 4 cups of sangria pan one full jar it is a scam. When I tell the waiter and bartender, they can’t even do anything to solve the problem and just tell me there is no solution for this. They took my jar away while I still left some of my remaining sangria on my jaw and they put me a full glass of sangria to compensate me without saying anything to explain. We asked for chilli sauce that cost us €2 The bartender suggest us a grilled octopus with overcooked tentacles. And it cost us €22 when we paid for it. The overall atmosphere is perfect, but the service and foot quality is normal. Fried small fishes and fried small. Squid is crunchy and fresh. Just don’t accept their way to handle complain and problem-solving

So I wanted to go to thos other tapas place on the same street, it was full so I walked along and found this place. It's not an english friendly place, it looks like its for the locals, which also is a good thing. I went in, sat at the bar and basically just pointed to what I wanted. The waitress did ask me some me something about the octopus that I cannot understand but the man beside me gladly translated. And oh my god, that octopus! Lets just say i returned for it again the next night.

Pulpería Celta delivers an authentic experience, enhanced by the warmth and sense of humor of its owner, who creates a welcoming atmosphere. That said, during our visit several of the dishes we requested were unfortunately unavailable, which limited the culinary offering. What we did try was satisfying: xipirones (baby squid) well prepared, a flavorful and nicely textured Galician-style octopus, fresh razor clams, and the ever-classic pan con tomate, simple yet always enjoyable in Catalonia. One aspect that could be improved is communication: the menu was only available in Catalan, which made it challenging to fully navigate the selection.

One of the best bars in Barcelona, amazing food & nice authentic service !! Loved the octopus .. made me come again every year !! All the tapas are really great .. highly recommended

Came here off the ship. Lovely quaint little place. Plenty locals dining in. Ordered the chorizo (a must have!) , fried squid (which was a good portion size for the price) , patatas bravas , croquettes and the ham stuffed potato balls. All that with 6 alcoholic drinks came to around €50. You can pay by card or cash here. My Spanish isn’t great but we managed to order without any issues. All food was fresh and hot. Overall, food was great, service was fast and a good time was had by all. I would love to come back! (Sorry, no photos. Food looked too good to wait)

We’ve already been there for 3 days in a row. You firstly have the typical spanish atmosphere with spanish people and spanish waiters. Then the small chairs and tables which add the familial feeling on top. Lastly the food which is just amazing. Every tapa we tried was just delicious. Also the prices are just perfect: not too expensive. Can recommend 100%. Thank you again for the free dessert and olives!

Loved the authentic old world Spanish bar atmosphere. This type of place is hard to find in central Barcelona. Don't go expecting fancy tables and extensive multi language menus, but go to enjoy a beer or wine and take in the vibe of Spain. We only had drinks, so I can't comment on the food.

Friendly staff checking on our meal experience. Octopus, chorizo were great! Bamboo clams were not available so we tried the other available type of clams, which was not great, there was not much 'meat' January 2024
