Highly recommend for seriously delicious food with very generous portions. Great vibe, nice staff! The menu is small but perfect and the focus is on fantastic quality. Tiramisu was a highlight. Reservation recommended as the restaurant part is small but I love the cozy vibes.

This results in a surprisingly varied range of choices despite the concise menu. The dishes were exceptional and the portions were pleasingly generous, ensuring a satisfying meal. The cocktails were an absolute highlight, complementing the meal perfectly. The staff contributed significantly to the pleasant dining experience. They were incredibly friendly and proficient, offering explanations of the menu in several languages, which would be particularly helpful to international diners. However, there is a slight downside. The tables are somewhat small, making it a bit cramped for two people trying to enjoy both drinks and food comfortably. It seems like there might be an attempt to fit too many tables into the available space, which affects the overall dining comfort. Overall, the combination of excellent food, delightful cocktails, and attentive service make it a restaurant worth visiting, despite the minor issue with table space. The space being cramped is the only reason I can’t give it a 5 star review.

Excellent food and service! It is a super tiny cozy old cafe with an Italian vibe. You are lucky if you find a place only few tables. But if you do find a spot, the food is nice and has a trendy vibe to it. It can be loud but we came at the perfect time! Absolutely Recommended!

Like a previous review mentioned, this place is a breath of fresh Italian Air. I had the rigatoni with sausage, house red wine, cappuccino, and tiramisu. They weren't kidding when they said the tiramisu was "a little one." It's served in an expresso cup and was the perfect amount of dessert. The waitress was very friendly since my Italian is poor and my German is still a work in progress. Nice intimate and cozy decor, there are large pale blue communal couches and little tables everywhere. The food was delicious and the people watching was even better.

This place was alright. Our waitor luckly spoke English so that was nice. We sat in the back which was pretty small for large parties. The back room was also very hot inside. The menu had 3 items to choose from so i was very disappointing. They change the menu every day which is unique but I would have liked more of a wide selection. The wines and cocktails were good.

The first time I came here was back in 2012 and, I have been here many times since. It's time to update my review about this place. The people here are super friendly and welcoming. The place is usually buzzing with people hanging around having a drink or, eating and, the coffee here is consistently excellent. I have also eaten here a few times and, the choice is small and simple. I have enjoyed my meals here each time. I love the tiny desserts that have like tiramisu in an expresso cup, small profiteroles, small Pannacotta etc. If you want something sweet after your meal, this is a nice way to satisfy the craving ;-)) They also serve brunch on weekends but, you need to book ahead of time for this. It's not easy to find and, is away from most of the buzz in the area however, it's only a short walk from all of that ;-) I have brought numerous friends here both local and, visitors and, they have all liked it. As a caution, this place can get really busy during the afternoon & on weekends so, either come here early for lunch or later in the afternoon. This place continues to fuel the German obsession with Italy and, I have heard that many locals come here to practice their Italian ;-)) it is a little tiny piece of Italy in Munich ;-)

The pasta here, and the salad, was a wonderful break from the regular German fare. We liked the laid back ambiance and good prices for the high quality food!

The experience was an escape into Italy from Munich but you need to find it's sign behind another one. The waitstaff while fluent in English and German, conversed with each other in Italian, enhancing the ambience and authenticity of the restaurant. While the back room where we had dinner was cramped, the food was wonderful and its quality more than made up for this. The menu was limited to a few items listed on a chalkboard, everything was tasty and the arugula salad accompaniments, large. Great escape from wurst when needed.

This was a hidden gem during our time in Munich. We had lunch here. They start serving at noon. They bring around a chalkboard and explain the pasta offerings for the day. I had a linguine shrimp scampi that was very fresh and my fiancé had rigatoni in red sauce with speck. We also both had a side salad which was great to get some fresh vegetables.

Typical italian-styled café. Very cosy and comfortable. Usually very crowded. If you go, check out their Cappuccino! Best in town I believe. Just make sure to come before rush hours or enjoy the best espresso and cappuccino in munich standing. Forget german politeness: order your coffee fix by yelling if its crowded, or in italian if you are able to. Also a highlight: check out their bathrooms. Very italian and tiny! :) This place is not for kids. Hipsters and all sorts of locals gather there during rush hours and the place is packed (and the place itself is not very large). I haven't tried their food yet, but I heard from others that it is quite good. Pricing is OK-ish, for Munich. Just don't expect a cheap espresso and you'll be fine.

This was my first time here. We came for an early dinner (5pmish) and it was quite empty and easy to get a table (Apparently this isn't the norm here). But I believe this was a result of the fact that it was a super sunny Sunday so most people were probably still sunbathing somewhere in or around Munich. Very cute little Italian place with a front room that opens into outdoor seating when it's warm, and a cosy back room. We got a table in the front part with a view onto the road which made for some entertaining customary people watching! Aperol and other spritzes seemed to be a favourite of the hour. We ordered a white wine to go with our pasta dishes. Pretty normally priced at 3-4 for 0.1 l. We had penne siciliana and rigatoni bolognese, and both were really good! Decent / moderate portions. The penne siciliana was vegetarian in red sauce with eggplant. The rigatoni bolognese was in a white sauce (a first for me!) with minced meat and mushrooms. For dessert we had a tiramisu in a little espresso cup and it was the perfect size (a tad too much creme but otherwise perfect!) Friendly staff. A good experience overall! I will be coming back to try the coffee!!

Visited this restaurant/lounge based off the suggestion of my cousin who is a Munich local and wow were we impressed! We walked to the back behind the bar and found a quaint cost little table. The waitress didn't spoke a bit of English but we were able to decipher the small menu (on a chalkboard) just fine. I had a salad topped with smoked salmon and my bf had a delicious ravioli! Their house white wine was wonderful- I had a few too many but it was a non-issue because for two meals + 4 wines + 3 beers we only paid about €70! Everything about this place screams Italy. It wouldn't be of particular interest there, but in the heart of Munich it is a breath of fresh, wurst-free air. Food was fresh and good, coffee was excellent

Delightful, delicious, tiny. Excellent coffee, very Italian flavor, great barista & waitstaff. Had surprisingly tasty muesli with fruit along with cappuccino & fresh squeezed orange juice. Surprising not just because the muesli & yogurt were good, but because ALL the mixed fruit was ripe & tasty. Not like the usual rock hard cantaloupe & green strawberries in US. Authentic spot, easily could be crowded, but really good.

Best coffee! Was looking for a real Italian cafe - this is it - fresh squeezed orange juice - friendly and responsive staff.

So I hear that for a morning espresso in Munich, this is your place. But if you want to bring your love of coffee to another another (blood alcohol) level, come back in the evening for one of their espresso martinis! To be honest, we were more concerned about learning exactly what a hoogle or hougle or hoggle was, and our mission inevitably lead us here. While I was willing to concede that Hoggle was 'a pivotal character in the epic and Oscar-deserving film Labyrinth' and be done with it, my partners in crime knew that if there was a bar in central Munich that would know, it would be Bar Centrale. So we went. And we buzzed about with the rest of the beautiful people. And we learned that a hoogle or hougle or hoggle involves soda, white wine and mint. So we ordered a different Italian spritzer, with Campari, white wine, soda, lemons and orange and pretended to be far posher than any of us truly are. This is definitely your spot if you want to be seen in the scene and perfect for your first drink on a warm Munich evening.

I dig this place. It's small and classy, yet on a small side street right in the middle of the Altstadt, so you feel like it's a bit of a secret or a treat. I can't speak to its breakfast, but it's great for after-work drinks or for Italian dinner. The food is decent, but the drinks and the atmosphere are the real draw here. The backroom in particular is quite comfortable. Warm, dim lighting, comfortably cushioned seating, low tables, cute little candles, nooks & corners so groups can sit close and dates can sit even closer - this little place definitely went to restaurant charm school when it was growing up. Technically, they have outdoor seating, but only for about four people. During the warm months, though, they open their big storefront windows, effectively making the front room a pavilion-like area. They take reservations, but during the week you can also just try your luck grabbing a table in the backroom. If you speak Italian, now is a good time to brush up and impress (or turn off) your date discussing the menu in Italian with the waitstaff. The cocktails are all Italian style, as one might expect, so come here for a Negroni or a Campari OJ, not a Manhattan.

Great spot in the summer for Italian cocktails. Great year round for tea & coffee in their back room. The backroom is quiet, sometimes you need this when you want up for conversation with someone.

The small bar is located in the city center, about five minutes from Marienplatz. It is decorated with parts of road bikes and photos of bike races. This place is Italian in many ways, from the decor to the assortment of furniture, the people, and just about everything else a Mediterranean pit stop in the heart of Munich :-) The staff was exceptionally friendly! The beans served in this bar are Illy Type N (red). This is a typical roast from northern Italy but nothing fancy. My espresso was professionally brewed and came with a nice crema. Espressowise, standard Illy beans will not make me walk the extra mile. But overall, I like the place for its atmosphere. I take a detour to work every day to have my morning cappuccino here. It's that good. They serve a pretty good lunch too, pasta or salad, and many evenings the party here is quite intense.

Wonderful coffee stop! Barista pumped out two black coffees to take away in no time. He ended up putting a nice milk heart in each one, too. Good price at 5 euro. The illy coffee was terrific. Highly recommended.
