15 Best Tapas Bars in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"Bar Cerveriz, inherited in 1989, offers Spanish comfort food like the legendary tortilla española, stewed Romano beans with jamón and paprika, and braised whole squid swimming in carrot-wine sauce." - Benjamin Kemper

I'd love to say that the food made up for the brusque service, but alas, no. If you crave pig leather for dinner, order the solomillo de cerdo. At least the croquetas de jamon contained rumors of ham, and the tomatoes and lettuce in the mixed salad were fresh. And the cocktails were acceptable. Oh, and the fries were good.

Rude old helper guy... Felt discriminated... Moved across the street Taberna de San Miguel, kind and courteous staff... Simply amazing...

Have visited here before and it was convenient for a pitstop on a Saturday morning. Ideal for people watching, particularly when the market is so busy. Tapas are great, but crisps are aplenty with orders anyway, for pica pica. A cold vermut was very welcome today, as were the patatas alioli!

Just popped in for a small beer, quick service, extremely local and a nice place to stop by after the San Miguel market.

The food was so good. We ordered two fish dishes and it has such good taste. The waiters are super nice and friendly— asked one of them to take a picture and he posed .. hilarious !! You can sit outside and sip on beer and sangria. Highly recommend.

Excellent service, price and generous quantity. Loved the bocadillo de squid along with the tasty paella. Great ambiance sitting at the patio area

Meh. Food was ok. I won’t ever come back but once it’s fine. Staff was pretty rude and that’s why it looses two stars. They forgot a cup with ice for one of the 3 drinks and I had to beg for it and they made me feel like I shouldn’t be asking for anything. Try to order everything you want in one go, they hate when you ask for additional food. I had the cheesecake which was pretty delicious. My main plate was the Entrecot (beef steak), they cooked it medium rare, fries where very salty, they forgot the condiments for the salad but after the episode with the glass with ice I wouldn’t dare ask for anything else.
