Bar Dante Alighieri

We stumbled upon this fabulous place while staying in Radda in Chianti, and now that we are back home in the USA, we dream of it every single day. The owners and staff are so incredibly kind and welcoming, so as soon as you walk in, you are greeted like family. The first night we dined here, we couldn't believe our great luck. It was so delicious we returned early the next morning for coffee, a sandwich for my husband and a pastry for me. The same thing for the next morning. The appetizers of bruschetta alone could have been a meal, but I had the mushroom lasagna ... best ever; my husband had a chicken dish. The food was so mouth-watering that it pains me to write about it now that we are so far away. Our wine was so yummy that we bought some to have shipped to us. We are planning a return trip to Tuscany, JUST TO EAT HERE AGAIN! You will love it! Don't miss out on this wonderful place, with such wonderful people.

The most welcoming, friendly and professional service from all the staff but particularly Claudio. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere is beautiful and the location is perfect. We visited 3 times during our 5 days trip.

We visited Bar Dante quite a few times during our week long stay in Radda in Chianti. The owners work long hours and we have really enjoyed their service and visiting with them! All the food has been really good, but do try the cinghiale ragu, and ask for the cheesecake! Great ingredients, great service, great mix of tourists and locals.

I feel like a local here. Very friendly, great English. And the traditional Tuscan food is great. Always a small lunch menu available besides the usual menu. Love it

Great food and wine for good prices. The owners give every guest the attention they prefer. Would recommend! Many guest that stay for a few days in town keep coming back, that always tells a lot!

We went last night as a group of 4, and it was a great experience. We were able to be seated quickly and a server came up to us very quickly. They have a nice mix of dishes to choose from on the menu, different types of pastas, salads and meat dishes. Our server did a lovely job. He was kind, funny, and was great at explaining anything we did not fully understand. They also serve great wine that is straight from the region of Tuscany. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

We've enjoyed a very pleasant dinner at Bar Dante Alighieri! The staff was very enthusiastic and willing to help us quickly and professional. The risotto, lasagne, and fitting Barlettaio wine were amazing. Thank you for having us. We would certainly recommend this to anyone!

I grew up visiting bar Dante every summer with my family. Prior to tonight, I have not been there since 2010. Knowing the previous owner, I was excited to try Bar Dante under Claudio and Virginia’s ownership. I can confidently say bar Dante is the best restaurant to drink, eat, relax, and live the Tuscan lifestyle. Claudio was an absolute gem. We cannot wait to visit next year. If you pass up on Bar Dante, you are missing out on the spirit of Radda. Relax, breathe, enjoy the joys of life, and sip some wine… the ethos of bar Dante is why you visit Tuscany. Stumbled into this place due to our first choice closed down on us -- but we were happy as DANTE delivers good food and service. Thanks to our English server Caroline! I had a Panini and the g/f loved her Tuscan Bean Soup. For desert, loved the Tiramisu and Apple Cake (Yes, we got two deserts). Nice patio too.

We drove from panzano and interested to go to pizza pie next door which was closed. Bar Dante seemed to have a good crowd and we decided to get dinner there. The food was so so good - their bruschetta platter and eggplant parmigiana was phenomenal. Also for their house wine and can't go wrong in Chianti. One star less only because the caramel tart desert was meh! Stop by for a good light dinner when in Radda!

Unbelievable food. Stayed in town for three days and came here here probably 5 times. Best is the Bruschetta in the world. Coffee was traditional. Loved the pasta. Atmosphere was great as it looks over the town. Ask for the owners book it will add to your trip.

This restaurant is quaint with beautiful flower boxes. It is not fancy but the food and service were terrific. We stumbled upon it for lunch as we were staying near Radda. The eggplant parmigiana was the best of any we had anywhere. The prosciutto and buratta were so fresh. Specials are incredible. We are food lovers and went back twice because the food was so good. Sandwiches and pastas, especially anything they have on special for the day were fantastic. Highly recommend Bar Dante.

We stayed at Relais Vignale hotel which is just steps away from Bar Dante. This little cute restaurant has the absolute best bruschetta we have ever had!!! So yummy! Also there parpadelle Pasta with wild pig was amazing. The service was also great and homey. Highly recommend for lunch!

This place is awesome for lunch or dinner! I have come 3 times since visiting! The bruschetta is my fav! Also the tiramisu I had it twice :) the staff are so nice and helpful!

We went there for a quick lunch. Really enjoyed the food and also their friendly service. We will be back in case we are around.

Great place with lots of good options. We stayed at Il Borgo di Vescine down the road from Radda and came in for dinner on a Sunday. Happy to see this was open and bustling. Ordered pasta and pizza and everyone loved their food. They ran out of tiramisu before we could order but it's supposed to be quite good there.
