Bar El Hongo

If you’re in Mora de Rubielos, do not miss Bar El Hongo. We had three nights in town and stumbled across Bar El Hongo on our first evening — and what a find. It was so good that we went straight back the second night to try more of the menu. When it was closed on our third night, we tried somewhere else… and that’s when we realised just how lucky we’d been the first two evenings. The atmosphere is lively and genuinely local, but still very welcoming. There’s a great buzz about the place, and you immediately feel comfortable. It strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and vibrant. The food was excellent — generous, full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. There’s also a great choice of wines, and the service was friendly and charming throughout. After long, cold days skiing, it was exactly what we needed. Bar El Hongo was easily the highlight of our stay. We only wish it had been open on night three!

The best bar in town! Definitely a hidden gem. We went for breakfast and the bocadillos and toasts were amazing. The waiters are very kind. The overall experience was 10/10 🫶🏼✨

Great place for eating in this beautiful town of Mora de Rubielos. The octopus was very good, the classic salad too. But the bravas and the albóndigas (meatballs) where extraordinary.

Great tapas served at tables in a characterful street with relaxed evening atmosphere, in the centre of Mora. We enjoyed the albóndigas with potatoes and tortilla de patatas, but the croquetas were exquisite. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Recommended.

Don’t be fool by the unassuming exterior and quirky interior. This local bar is welcoming to guests/tourists, friendly warm service, Gracias! Nice cool local beer with amazing olives, unreal! Definitely recommend the octopus and potato balls, perfection!
