If you’re in Mora de Rubielos, do not miss Bar El Hongo.
We had three nights in town and stumbled across Bar El Hongo on our first evening — and what a find. It was so good that we went straight back the second night to try more of the menu. When it was closed on our third night, we tried somewhere else… and that’s when we realised just how lucky we’d been the first two evenings.
The atmosphere is lively and genuinely local, but still very welcoming. There’s a great buzz about the place, and you immediately feel comfortable. It strikes that perfect balance between relaxed and vibrant.
The food was excellent — generous, full of flavour and clearly prepared with care. There’s also a great choice of wines, and the service was friendly and charming throughout. After long, cold days skiing, it was exactly what we needed.
Bar El Hongo was easily the highlight of our stay. We only wish it had been open on night three!
