"A unique Italian bar in the Javastraat where it's all about real Italian manners. It's like having dinner at an Italian family: taking time to enjoy the best food and wines. Drop by for a good cup of coffee in the morning or come by for lunch or dinner so you can treat yourself with real Italian dishes." - All Essentials

"Set along Javastraat, in the heart of the hip Amsterdam Oost (East) neighborhood, this Italian hotspot from chef-owner Tom Gallizia draws a lively local crowd to its rustic-meets-industrial-chic dining room. The antipasti is a favorite, while the pastas—made by a local pasta-maker with sauces prepared in-house—are as authentic as they come. The small menu changes frequently, based on what can be sourced directly from Italy. Next door, you can pick up a variety of Italian delicacies and wines at Deli Gallizia."

It's always a pleasure to eat there. friendly and attentive service, quality products and an authentic return to italian cuisine. The menu is always varied, changes often, and this allows you to try many different dishes. One of our trusted italian restaurants! coming to you is always a great experience. Grazie!

We just went for a walk around our neighborhood then found this restaurant so we gave it a try. The atmosphere is really cozy and the staffs welcome us warmly. The menu was only in Dutch and maybe Italian but none of us understands neither of those languages so we used google translate. The staff saw how we struggle to read the menu and she was kind to translate and explained us the menu. We both love all dish we ordered. The pasta is very good and meat is so tender. The beef steak cooked perfectly and I finished everything on plate (even try to finish the sauce!). The salad is so fresh and goes really well with dressing. We will definitely come back again to try other dish!

Extremely overpriced for how small the portions are. I finished eating the main course in under 3 minutes, which is ridiculous for 25 euros. The food is good, but unfortunately nothing special. They brought us some bread with olive oil when we arrived and at some point they asked us if we want some more bread. The food took over 1 hour, so I assumed they wanted to make up for it, but no, we were charged 5 euros for 5 tiny pieces of bread. Very disappointing experience overall.

I had high expectation for this place cause of the reviews but the food was bad. The carbonara was extremely salty and the tagliatella al ragu was blend and not amazing .what made it worse was that when we told them politely that we didn't like the food they weren't at all open to a slight criticism and treated it as if we don't know good food.

A lovely cozy place on a bustling street! The burrata was delicious! The carbonara supreme! Wonderful patient staff that answered our million questions! Great wine list and the music was nice as well!

Really nice atmosphere in this cozy Italian restaurant! And naturally, tasty Italian food. We have had a three course menu, with two glasses of wine each; the starters were very fresh and tasty (especially the burrata, recommended!). The main dishes, of course pasta!, were quite flavorful and rich albeit a bit lacking in seasoning. The desserts were also good, not the best tiramisu ever but the grandma's cake was great! The staff was very available and talkative! Really a nice experience overall!

Really lovely food, a little gem. It wasn't very busy when we were walking by and it was fantastic food with perfect flavours. I would recommend the swordfish ceviche, also the prawn and scallop ravioli. Excellent service, Italian food and wonderful wine. Thank you for a lovely evening

We’ve been on business dinner in this restaurant. It looks fancy even though location is not very central. Service was nice, but unfortunately food didn’t impress me. We had preordered meal with meat, fish or vegetarian option. For meat option there was beef but unfortunately waiters didn’t ask clients if meat should be medium rare or not and everyone got medium rare so many people just didn’t eat it as not everyone likes it this way. I chose fish, it was sea bass but unfortunately it was probably the worst sea bass I ate in my life, not sure how they managed to spoil it but it had no taste at all. Dessert was quite ok, it was tiramisu, not the best but not the worst either. So maybe it was because of preordered food but unfortunately I would not go there again.

Yelp
A cozy little place in already upcoming Javastraat with lots of heart. Came here for a romantic dinner with my girlfriend and we were not disappointed at all. They have amazing starters, like a plate with different kinds of cheese and dry meats. Don't forget to wash that down with a delicious glass of wine from their pretty good wine menu. Pasta was delicious and prepared right in front of our eyes. Quite the fun experience! Staff was really nice and they were alert to your every need. I will definetely come back

Yelp
Ate here even though the Yelp reviews were two years old to try it out. I was impressed that the special was Osso Buco with Risotto and the risotto was al minuto - a true risotto! It was very good and I had the spaghetti with octopus which was good. The wine pairings on the menu are nicely done and do complement the food. The menu is small which attests to the al minuto cooking. The bathrooms are clean and neat, always a plus. Overall a very good dining experience in an intimate setting - definitely worth a try.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place... really did! I am on a quest to find good Italian food in Amsterdam and I figured this place had potential because it's new, had a good review, and only offers a limited selection. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed!! The bread they bring out is rubber... like old bread that's been microwaved. What is up with that? How difficult is it to find some fresh bread? This was a major turn off during the meal and it was almost impossible to recover after the rubbery old bread came out. We ordered a few different appetizers and none of them were all that great, mostly flavorless. The main course was pasta with a meat sauce and a vegetarian sauce with eggplants. We tried both dishes. The pasta itself was cooked well and al dente, but it just had 0 flavor. I put endless salt on it just to taste something... The service was also not amazing. The waitress didn't seem to know the menu well and didn't understand our questions, so wasn't able to answer them. It seemed though that the wine was quite alright (I didn't have any), so I guess it could be a stop for a glass of wine? The ambiance overall is not bad, so let's just call this a wine bar and not an Italian restaurant.
