This was my family's fifth year in a row staying at Bar Harbor Inn and second year doing it during Fourth of July. As usual, it was a perfect stay. The staff made me and my family feel welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived to the time we departed. ||||This week, the hotel was at the top of its game. They somehow went above and beyond even their usual, very high, standard of service. Our kids felt like royalty - small touches go a long way with them; a voucher for a treat at the pool (that they protected like treasure to save for the last day), a gift of gummy bears at turn-down service, staff members engaging with the kids as they came and went - even indulging in some 'pranks' the kids pulled on them with a prank kit bought at the bookstore in town.||||At breakfast one morning, our children brought two stuffies (a bunny and a beaver); staff brought a highchair for them to sit in and asked our kids what they ate. After being told 'carrots and trees' the servers delivered a carrot and a pine cone on plates with our breakfast. So good! The kids went wild for that.||||Beyond the service, everything else was perfect as well. The infinity edge pool looking over Frenchman Bay is amazing - no lie, it is one of the best spots in the world. I understand that it is a relatively new addition to the hotel, within the last 6 or 7 years - and it is pure genius! Nothing could take advantage of the prime waterfront location better than this pool.||||Lastly, the Fourth of July vibes in Bar Harbor and at the Inn were spectacular. The parade was everything you want it to be, with so many participants interacting with the crowd along the route and kids scrambling to collect candy thrown off the floats. And fireworks from the hotel capped off our perfect week.||||We will definitely be back - in fact, we have already booked for next year!

Loved everything about our stay. The location is the best in Bar Harbor, with views from our balcony that are unmatched by any other property. We enjoyed the continental breakfast each morning. The staff was always happy and super helpful. The thing we loved the most though was the pool and hot tub. We spend every evening there. Our two boys loved it as did we. Didn’t want to leave.

The place is great and clean but the Staff and service = 120%. The rooms have been renovated in the last few years and we're really nice and comfortable. We had a double queen that came with an extra arm chair and two more dining chairs and a table. The balcony overlooks the ocean and was a nice plus for us for the $. The staff kept the room clean for us. The grounds are lovely and the location is sitting near the town. It was an easy walk to the town. I recommend for this reason and not having to go park again. The staff blew us away. Come for the location and stay for the staff!! The individuals working upon our arrival really set the tone for the stay. The front desk staff was always visible when we walked in the door and greeted us with big smiles. Their chatting and how they talked to us just embodied good customer service. We'd hands down come back because we were treated so well.

We absolutely loved our time at Bar Harbor Inn. Loved the pool and 2 hot tubs and cozy robes So nice having a pool side bar and plenty of towels. Not crowded. I used the fitness room too. Free breakfast is huge with lots of options. Dinner at Reading Room was very nice atmosphere.

4.75/5. This place is near perfection. We traveled from southern Pennsylvania and wanted somewhere nice to stay. This place has the nice covered. The employees are all courteous, professional and wlecoming. The concierge was helpful when it came to info about Acadia as well. The gift shop was a bit pricey and limited in their offerings but there is a Walgreens down in town to help out with the extras. We stayed oceanfront in room 325. The view is outstanding however, I'd suggest staying on the top floor. I think we were underneath the maid chambers or the upstairs neighbor had a horse staying with them. The rooms are very clean but a bit outdated. The bathroom seemed fairly new though. The HVAC which we didn't really need all that much was 100% touchscreen and not very responsive. Maybe some calibration needed. The beds were comfy, the room also had extra seating and a little table and the mini-fridge was in working order. Can't speak to the TV, we didn't turn it on once but it looked fine. Our neighbors were a bit of a problem as they were smoking cigarettes on their deck the first two days of our trip which was the last two days of their trip. Since the partition between the rooms is not floor to ceiling, the smoke would come into our room and invade our peaceful time on the deck. I contacted the front desk about this and they said they'd be by to check it out but I'm not sure if that ever occurred or the visitors really just didn't care all that much. The room overlooked the Shore Path which was nice. Got to see folks wandering around throughout the day with their dogs and what not just enjoying the views. The sunrise from this room in June is amazing. Granted it is a bit earlier than other areas, at around 445 but that was not a big deal. Amazing! We did utilize the laundry service a few days and they were very quick and it was definitely well worth it. Breakfast was nice. They had a lot to offer from cereals, bagels, danish, yogurt, hummus, fresh fruit, toast, gluten free options, and may other things. You are able to eat there or take it back to your room which is nice. The pool area looked really nice but was overrun by children as expected. I wonder if there is an adults only time or if they would consider expanding some area to be adults only. The location to everything downtown is perfect. We were minutes from everything and you don't mind the extra walk to enjoy a bit of "seclusion". Overall, the Inn and Spa was worth it for me. I'd definitely come back knowing what I know now and maybe stay in one of the townhouse type rooms or go to the second floor of the Oceanfront section.

I will be day dreaming about this place for years to come. We enjoyed our stay so much! This hotel was so beautiful and accommodating all while being at a fair price. The rooms were very clean and had lovely amenities (love having a bathtub for a soak after a long day of hiking). The aesthetic of the decor was timeless and I wish more hotels would decorate like that. Staff were so friendly and helpful if or when needed. The Continental breakfast had a wide variety of choices that were vegetarian and gluten free friendly. During the evening, having the choice of classic games to play or neat books to read in the lobby was a cherry on top. If we ever come back out to Bar Harbor, we will stay here again!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Bar Harbor Inn! Excellent service, very clean and well-maintained rooms, unbelievably good food (do not skip the breakfast buffet, highly recommended!) and incredible ocean views. Special mention - great housekeeping, ample parking space and kid friendly activities. We had a really pleasant stay and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This is not at all a reflection of jade- she was lovely and I'd request her again in a heartbeat. My gf called a few days in advance to book us massages. They said they could accommodate us for 60 min each as long as we waited since there is only one masseuse available. No problem. We got there and checked in, no one verified which service we were getting which is fine, 2 massages isn't that complicated. I waited for my friend upstairs but there wasn't any magazines or reading material etc and no cell phones are allowed so it was a loooong hour. She came out and her hair was all greasy. I didn't think much of it and went in for my service. Jade asked me which mask I wanted. She offered 3 paper masks, much like the kind you would purchase at target/cvs etc so again I didn't think anything of it. The service started as a standard massage and then all the add ons started. A foot mask. An eye mask. A face mask. Hot stones. Again I didn't want to interrupt the service but I knew this was much more than we asked for. When we went to the front desk to pay, the total was an alarming $360 each!! For an hour long service! We nearly died. We explained that we tried to book a massage only and the front desk person argued with us saying that jade did a great job etc. we tried to explain that we know she did a great job, it's just not what we booked. She did not care. For a grand total of $720 for an hour each of service, we probably won't be back.

Yelp
I had an unexpected open afternoon. Called over to make an appointment for this afternoon or tomorrow. I was welcomed with open arms. The place is beautiful; the staff is friendly and my massage therapist, Sarah, was the BEST. Would definitely recommend the Bar Harbor Inn Spa.

Yelp
On our most recent trip to Bar Harbor, we encountered a very cold and rainy day, and decided the best way to go about it was to book a treatment at the spa. After calling around, this spa was the only one that could accommodate us both and so we decided to give them a try and see how it went. We arrived early and they were gruff with us about it. I've never had a spa be mad that we arrive early, in fact many spas recommend it! This was after I called a few times and asked if we could add onto our spa treatment, and were cut off mid sentence and told they couldn't help us. Not great first impressions. Once we were allowed to access the lounge, we changed and went upstairs. The place where the spa is, looks like a renovated unit near the pool that was clearly not meant to be a spa. The layout is awkward, and not very conducive to relaxation. Upstairs we sat and waited for our appointments. Once our therapists were ready, we were taken to the massage room. He had Jade and I had Darcy, both for a 50 min therapeutic massage. Hubby said his massage was overall ok, but I had a very different experience. My massage therapist did a horrible job draping, and I felt unnecessarily exposed. The therapist also did a weird thing where she kept massaging my sternum, which I thought was very odd and made me uncomfortable. I was relieved once massages were over, but then we got to the locker rooms and there were more issues. The lady's bathroom shower floor was slanted in the wrong way, where the drain was the highest point in the floor, resulting in the rest of the floor just flooding and making it slippery and gross. I definitely expected more from this spa, being attached to their hotel which has high marks for customer service and attention to detail. I don't think the massages were worth the cost ($115 per person), and the overall experience from booking to showering left us both feeling like we wished we had booked elsewhere. Definitely will not be returning on my next trip to Bar Harbor.

Yelp
I got a deep tissue massage from Colleen and it was the right amount of pressure! She was Strong! The spa itself was nice: beautiful locker room with a sauna, showers, everything you'd need. Friendly staff and great location!

Yelp
Had a lovely time relaxing here today! Melissa gave me a 5 star mani/pedi and really was such pleasant company. Not only is the quality of services and facility top notch, the friendliness of Melissa and staff far exceeded my expectation! Would definitely book here again if I were in the area. Thank you Bar Harbor Inn Spa staff, especially Melissa!

Yelp
I booked bridal services here several months in advance so my review is for that. I emailed and spoke with Amanda the manager and she was always so very friendly and responsive and I felt in great hands leading up to my big day. We came in 3 hours before my first look for me to get makeup and updo, my mom to get blowout and makeup, one just makeup and one just updo. The makeup and hair are on different floors, which was a huge bummer because we couldn't all sit together. I had also ordered sandwiches and sparkling wine from the spa snack menu and the wine wasn't there when we arrived and took about an hour to get with a lot of miscommunication between then (brought sparking cider instead, and then showed me a menu asking which wine I wanted but there had only been one listed on the spa menu) and there weren't clean dishes or glasses. All in all we were all happy with the results of our services; I didn't do a trial and my hair was tighter than I envisioned but I did still like it. The hair stylist mentioned that there were plans for remodeling to bring all the chairs to the same level which would have made a huge difference and made it a 4 star experience at least!

Yelp
The location and setting of the Bar Harbour Inn is simply perfection. It sits right in the water with unobstructed views and is centrally locates to the quaint little town that is Bar Harbour. The lobby and entry to the hotel is extremely unattractive, dark and dingy looking. It is quite tired and detracts from the well-tended beauty of the surrounding grounds. Shocking that it hasn't been updated with something fresh, light and inviting. We enjoyed our boat rides and walks but note that there is very little to do in town. If you've shopped one store, you've shopped them all. Same identical Bar Harbour sweat shirts and t-shirts in every color ....
