Before I had even entered the premises I already liked the name of this place... "Bar jeder Vernunft"... quite a witty German pun.
The place itself is a round tent (a little like "Fliegende Bauten" in Hamburg) which creates a special atmosphere alone.
Loads of mirrors and nice, classic scenery set also adding up to this creative ambience.
Conveniently you can eat and drink in there (both rather expensive I hear) - in case you manage to arrive on time.
Not like us having problems at the train station and also grabbing a taxi which drove us all over town first.
It seems to be custom that the place is always cramped and slightly muggy. Sadly the chairs are getting a little uncomfortable after a while, too.
Yet you'll forget this tiny discomfort easily as the programme is usually just great: comedy, cabaret, concerts.
I was there in order to see René Marik who is a brilliant entertainer, singer and puppet player.
The view was quite okay although some people were complaining about pillars blocking out parts of the circular stage.
From my point of view this place is typically Berlin.
A special atmosphere, creative clientele, a charming programme and the real "Berliner Schnauze": the gift of the gab. Love it!
