Saw “Oh What a Night” here this evening and wish I could give the band, performers, venue, staff, the whole experience One Million Stars. Top notch performances and I don’t even understand German. Fantastic choreography. The cheese plate was exceptional also. I will definitely be seeing more shows here and bringing friends back to Oh What a Night!

A friend had his birthday celebration here last night & it was absolutely unforgettable. It's romantic & cozy & absolutely beautiful, all mirrors & candlelight. Food was excellent. Really, though, it's all about the wonderful people: our hostess Marlena was warm & very funny, Sven Ratzke & band did a brilliant Bowie tribute, & every staff member was friendly & thoughtful. I can't believe I've never been here before, & now can't wait to return.

Bar, cafe and restaurants with relaxed vibe constantly changing music and performance acts. Many in English or with minimal dialogue for tourists to enjoy too. Check listing.

After quite a number of very enjoyable evenings at the Bar jeder Vernunft, I have to report that we left during the intermission. Willi Pfister may be to the American taste but most definitely not to ours. Shame, really because his siblings the Geschwister Pfister were really good. We look forward to our next visit nonetheless.

Yelp
What a superb venue...We went to see "Cabaret" there and had a good pre-ordered meal at "Half Time". We had excellent seats close to the stage. A real Berlin experience ! The show was very professional but was in German of course. However I have seen the film so many times and read Chris Isherwoods book, so I could follow the gist and the music was really good. The taxi driver we ordered from the Hilton didn't know where the venue was so thanks to our Citymap we were able to direct him there !! Not easy to find ! Since returning to the UK we went to see the english version in London.

Yelp
Before I had even entered the premises I already liked the name of this place... "Bar jeder Vernunft"... quite a witty German pun. The place itself is a round tent (a little like "Fliegende Bauten" in Hamburg) which creates a special atmosphere alone. Loads of mirrors and nice, classic scenery set also adding up to this creative ambience. Conveniently you can eat and drink in there (both rather expensive I hear) - in case you manage to arrive on time. Not like us having problems at the train station and also grabbing a taxi which drove us all over town first. It seems to be custom that the place is always cramped and slightly muggy. Sadly the chairs are getting a little uncomfortable after a while, too. Yet you'll forget this tiny discomfort easily as the programme is usually just great: comedy, cabaret, concerts. I was there in order to see René Marik who is a brilliant entertainer, singer and puppet player. The view was quite okay although some people were complaining about pillars blocking out parts of the circular stage. From my point of view this place is typically Berlin. A special atmosphere, creative clientele, a charming programme and the real "Berliner Schnauze": the gift of the gab. Love it! http://www.bar-jeder-vernunft.de
