Bar Les Trois Rois

I wanted to stop by spontaneously on my own for a drink at the bar. When I arrived, there was already a small queue — a group and a couple, as far as I could tell. I waited for about 10 minutes and then left again. No one checked in with any of us waiting. There was no proactive update like “it will take another X minutes” or “it might take a bit longer.” I also find it hard to believe that there wouldn’t have been space for one person at the bar — seating a solo guest would have reduced the queue by one right away. The hostess at the entrance seemed extremely stressed and probably didn’t have the capacity to take care of us properly, which is understandable. That said, it might simply require more staff. Long story short: I don’t expect special treatment or a guaranteed seat when there is no availability. But at a bar of this level, I do expect clear communication about waiting times instead of being left standing without any information.

This is one of the most beautiful spots to enjoy cocktails in Basel! The view of the Rhine is exceptional, the drinks are delicious, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!!

I recently celebrated my birthday there, and I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the wonderful experience they provided. The day started with a bit of chaos due to the unexpected heavy snowfall, which forced me to cancel many of my original birthday plans. I even arrived a little late because of the weather, but from the moment I stepped in, the team there made me feel at ease. The atmosphere was warm and beautifully decorated, setting the perfect scene for a special evening. The pianist was there and played beautifully throughout the evening, blending classical and modern pieces seamlessly. As a special touch, he even played Happy Birthday for me, which made the moment even more magical. And the birthday dessert—absolutely delicious! It was the perfect highlight of my birthday, and I could tell it was made with thoughtfulness and care. I’m incredibly thankful for the amazing hospitality and the effort. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for making my birthday so special!

we went there for some drinks Drinks: WOW the drinks are very good and excellent! just bring your big wallet with you..... service: one of the most professional places i've been. the employees are very well educated in the serving field! ambience: very beautiful and "old-money" fancy place. very great to hang out especially because they have a fireplace in the middle of the bar. totally go there! but expect a bill around $100.- if you get around 4 drinks.

Reviewing the hotel bar: nice atmosphere and good service, but CHF 18 for a large beer?! I've been to more than a handful of 3-star Michelin restaurants around the world and never paid prices like these...

had afternoon meal and drinks in the bar / lounge at the trois rois luxurious old fashioned place that shines giventhe extensive renovations. very nice bar menu and good service not a given in switzerland but les trois rois really fits the bill as a grand european hotel in that tradition.
