Google
Highly recommended! Seafood is so good! If you are here to drink, drinks come with a small plate of tapas for free, so you can order a bit less food! We were here for food so we ordered a lot but still couldn’t have them all! Razor clam is a must try, and mussels are fresh and plump! Fried asparagus is juicy and soft! We’ll come next time for Spanish rice!!!

Yiran

Google
Amazing seafood selection. Highly recommend the razor clams and fried artichoke and also enjoyed the grilled baby squid and the sangria and bonus fried fish. Portions generous and we had leftovers to take home!

Elif Sönmez

Google
The baby shrimp and fried artichokes were absolutely amazing! The glass of wine was also great, and we even got a free fried fish tapa — such a nice touch!

Jenn Eckert

Google
Wide variety of food items on the menu. Everything we tried was delicious. Very friendly wait staff. Highly recommend!

If you want to try something really local, that’s what you must visit in Granada. Great choice of fish and seafood, open kitchen, the food itself is amazing. The best fried seafood sets we tried. Despite the atmosphere is not so fancy, it’s even better to feel this vibe. The local wines are also pretty good. Portions are quite big, prices available.

Google
This was the best pink fish I've ever tasted! They also served fried anchovies and calamari with the drink as a starter, which were amazing. If you're in Granada looking for great food, you should definitely try this place. I wasn’t sure what to order, but the server, Nacho, was very helpful—he listened to my preferences and made the perfect recommendations. A very friendly and attentive person!

Google
Fresh sea food and fish at affordable prices. A gem if you want to make sure you eat somewhere both local and touristic, with crazy amount of people, fast and delicious ☆ Do not wait to be seated, try eating at the 'balcony'/bar without waiting.

Oriana

Google
I ordered a small mixed fried fish and it was delicious. The portion was generous and very fulfilling. Price 15€. The service is very fast and friendly.

Yelp
Love love love Los Diamantes! We ate here twice for the 2 days we were in Granada, and it was the only restaurant we repeated on our 3 week trip in Portugal and Spain. Most of the menu focuses on seafood, but they have limited vegetarian and meat dishes as well. I would actually highly recommend the mushrooms here... you won't regret it!! First time we came was on a busy Saturday night around 8:30. The tables (which resemble long picnic tables) were full, but we saw two spots open at the bar, so we decided to eat there. Note that they only have 2 bar stools and everyone else has to stand at the bar. I got a tinto verano (2.80€) for my drink and my friend went with a cana i.e. a small beer (2.80€). The best thing about Los Diamantes is that you get some complimentary snacks to munch on with your drink order. The first time we came, the first free snack we got was these super delicious and lightly fried fish. Portion size was pretty large too, considering they're free. I also got a half order of navajas, i.e. razor clams, for 13€. I've never had razor clams before but the ones here are bomb. They're grilled with olive oil and plenty of garlic, but the natural flavor and slight crunch of the clams really come through. My friend got a second beer and got the most amazing grilled mushrooms for his free snack. We were honestly both obsessed with these mushrooms. That's why we came again the next day for an early dinner around 5 pm. This time, we specifically ordered a plate of the mushrooms for 12€ as well as the Galician style octopus (15€). The mushroom was again SO GOOD. Would highly recommend everyone get this to have some veggies in between all the seafood. Of course we got some drinks as well, so we got a complimentary snack again. This time it was some fried breaded shrimp.

Robbie C.

Yelp
Food was fine. Very packed as it's one of the few restaurants that doesn't shut down for early dinner. Had a reputation for fantastic tapas. In reality if you are American or Asian they won't serve you tapas unless you ask for them and even then only one for every two drinks instead of the traditional one per drink. I guess go if you are Spanish. If you are expecting tapas or fantastic seafood look elsewhere.

Leo L.

Yelp
Another tapas restaurant with very high google reviews. The place immediately filled up as soon as the restaurant opened. The food was fresh and well prepared and came out very quickly. If you want a place to sit, you should come as soon as the restaurant opens. The waiters were friendly but because of the dinning culture there, they might seem not as tentative and quick as the waiters in the U.S. Overall, highly recommended.

Teresa T.

Yelp
Very very average - almost everything is fried and prices are very high. Agree with the other reviews that it's chaotic and hectic. We ordered drinks and our free tapas were rice and fried baitfish (yup). The initial tapa they provide to everyone is almost always the rice mixed with seafood; more of an arroz than a paella type of rice. Rice is not well cooked as there are bits of uncooked rice mixed throughout. We ordered fried baby anchovies and sautéed artichoke with shrimp and clams. Fried baby anchovies are mushy af, which is a sign that it's not the freshest. The sautéed artichoke with shrimp and clams came with an almost lemon sauce. Artichokes were amazing in the sauce but shrimp were severely over cooked and hammered. I think this is more of a volume based restaurant.

Ken F.

Yelp
Very interesting mix. On the one hand, basic decor and communal seating (like a dorm cafeteria). On the other hand, the service was great, the food came incredibly quickly, and everything was fresh and tasty. One tip, if you like prawns pi-pil (hot, swimming in garlic sauce) order it with a side of bread, otherwise a lot of that yummy sauce will be wasted

Vivian H.

Yelp
Delicious seafood focused tapas recommended to us by a local and located conveniently near the entrance to the road up to Alhambra. We received tapas with our drinks and the portion sizes were quite generous! This place gets busy so you may need to go up to the counter to order rather than wait at your seat. The decor of this place is simple with the focus really being on the food & drinks! Do be careful with your belongings. We felt very safe the entire time but there are occasionally sellers from the street who will walk in and then walk out to try and get people interested in their wares.

Bill B.

Yelp
I really was looking for some great seafood and this place looked perfect. Unfortunately one of our first dishes was grilled calamari that looked great but was loaded with salt. Perhaps it was just an off day for the chef. We also had a sautéed mushroom dish that was very good. And they brought us a complimentary small portion of paella that was excellent. They had lots of fried seafood and fish options that looked good but we weren't in the mood for fried food. Give this place a shot for the nice variety of seafood and friendly service.

Tabitha H.

Yelp
I had a pretty good experience at Los Diamantes. It's mostly seafood tapas with very few non-seafood related items (chicken nuggets, lamb chops). I got a sangria and received two tapas with it (not sure if the second one was by mistake, or deliberate). For each drink you get, you are supposed to receive one tapa for free - what a great deal given that my sangria was only 2,20€. I also ordered the razor clams and 2 lamb chops. The razor clams were deeeelicious. Not sure what they're marinated in, but it was full of flavor, garlicky, and chewy. They're also different than the ones I see in California. The lamb chops were also really good. They sold them 2,50€ (at the time of writing this) for each one. They come with some cut up tomatoes. Food comes out pretty quick, but it can be tricky to get ahold of a server. My only complaint about the food is that it can be quite salty. I know it's to bring out the flavor, but I think it's a tad too much. If you're a seafood lover and not lactose intolerant, would highly recommend a stop here.

Jude N.

Yelp
4 star for the seafood, and minus 1 star for the price. Ordered a small Octopus, a small lamb stew and a small plate of garlic shrimp, cost me €40+, that's some highway robbery!!! Come here if you want to get robbed!

David A.

Yelp
Just like the name; this restaurant is as beautiful as a diamond, the food is great and the staff is kind. I would recommend it :)

Cindy L.

Yelp
Come here if you're craving seafood, especially fried seafood! We ordered several rounds of beer and wine, and they brought out a new plate of free tapas with each drink. The options spanned from fried fish to shrimp to mushrooms, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Their portions were also super generous. Probably my favorite of all the tapas bars in Granada.

Alice C.

Yelp
Big selection of fresh seafood. You can get grilled or fried. We had the grilled shrimp, octopus, sweetbread and mushrooms. Food comes in half and full portions and our server noted that for 2 people, 4 full is a lot of food. We were feeling hungry though so went with full servings on the octopus and mushrooms. Turns out we are way to greedy and came away with leftovers even after doing our best. Everything is super fresh and cooked perfectly. Get some bread to mop up the olive oil.

Pat B.

Yelp
Stopped by for a drink and to peruse the tapas menu. Ordered our first drinks and received a plate of fantastic mushrooms. Ordered a second drink and received eggplant. The third drink we placed an order for lamb sweetbreads but while waiting received a plate of clams. All were delicious. We sat at the bar but the rest of the restaurant seating is long communal tables. Fast friendly service and the staff speaks English pretty well.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Tip: 1 FREE TAPAS/DRINK! Organised chaos! Yes, both this main + the smaller "Bar" location are busy, busy, BUSY! However, you just hafta be patient, let the waiters know that you're waiting for a table, and you'll eventually get a spot! Communal tables. Nothing is written down. I think waiters just know by memory...and that you're holding out your fingers corresponding to the number of people in your party! Persistence is key here. We ordered the fried assorted seafood dish and it was good, well seasoning. Only lemon was provided. We received 1 free tapas: the "paella" rice dish and some mussels. Both were good. You just hafta deal with the crowds and wait!

Laura Z.

Yelp
This place is a must if you're in Granada. I passed by 3 times before I actually went in and every single time it was busy. I came here for dinner and do no regret it at all! Location: 5 STARS it's location is perfect. It's right by the main plaza. SERVICE: 5 STARS not only was our waiter super eye candy but he was also very nice and attentive. I believe his name was Carlos. He brought our drinks and food very quickly. FOOD & DRINKS: 5 STARS Free tapas with every drink. Do I need to say more? The food was great. We had clams, shrimp and octopus. All were divine I would definitely come back to this place if I'm ever back in Granada

Foodie V.

Yelp
We love this place so much that we came back the next day for lunch. This time, we tried: -Tuna with green tomatoes (5 star) - tuna is grilled with some olive oil. Tuna was a generous portion and tasted great. Sorry, no pictures since we were too hungr -Spanish rice (4 stars) -Grilled Prawns (4 stars) - grilled on salt. Prawns were little small but tasted great. We were also given fried sardines on the house.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Lucky the beers is cheap and cold here at 2€ a glass. You will need to drink a lot. I found most of the food we ordered were all super salty. It was such a shame to see all these fresh seafood over seasoned like that. I love the vibe and friendly wait staff here. Most of the dish I tasted were salty aside from the mushrooms. Maybe a sign that I should be eating more veggies? Bar Los Diamantes can be quite busy and getting a table for a large group might be a huge problem but still nice to have a drink with some friends. Fried fish was awesome!! The batter was light and crispy. I could eat that the whole evening.

Tracie P.

Yelp
I ate here on my trip to Granada and was disappointed. While the food was good (especially the fried fish), the atmosphere was not what I expected. The restaurant has a sign that indicates people should talk to a waiter if they want a table and wait outside to be seated, but guests tended to just walk right into the restaurant, hover near diners who were finishing up, and then grab a table. People were also taking seats from the bar for larger groups at tables, leaving no stools there. My husband and I were initially taken to a standing spot at the bar with a promise of a table when one was available (we went ahead and ordered drinks), but the table that was supposed to be ours was abruptly taken by a couple who walked in off the street without talking to a server. The environment was noisy and chaotic. I felt very rushed during dinner. While this is a good fish spot, I don't recommend it if you're looking for a quiet, nice dinner. There are many tapas bars outside Plaza Nueva that offer wine and tapas in an intimate setting with a relaxed atmosphere. I think this is a good spot for food, but wanted to note in my review that it's important to calibrate your expectations in terms of environment. Overall the restaurant could do much better with managing guests and the seating process. I did see several people queue up outside and wait patiently, but my experience was marred by people who consistently barged in and powered up to tables or the bar, even while other guests were there, with seemingly no consideration. There is another location for this restaurant outside of the main plaza/tourist area that I'd be willing to give a try. The food we had was good, but the experience of dinner is also a factor.

Nadine F.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Bar Los Diamantes; I only wish we'd had time to go back and try more tapas! We were craving fresh vegetables after a week in Spain, and this place had a lot of good options. The cogollos were tiny little heads of lettuce, halved and covered in a simple but good homemade vinaigrette. The heirloom tomatoes were also good, just dressed simply with salt and olive oil. Beyond that, we just had the free tapas and some risotto. All were quite good, and service was excellent. I'd definitely go back.

Davy L.

Yelp
tl;dr You will not regret coming here. Huge portions, delicious food, fast service, 100% locals. Simple and well cooked food. The fresh ingredients packs a huge punch of flavour. I spent two nights in Granada and spent both my dinners here - I have never done this before, this place is that good. The first night we came, there was a short line outside, but unclear the process to get a seat. Luckily a local in front of us told us how it works. If there's space in the bar (standing room only) you can just cut the line and get in. If you want a seat, you have to wait until you're in the front and take a seat once it's open. Food ----- The most memorable food here is the razor clams. I've had razor clams in Barcelona and we got ~5 clams for 10 euros and mostly filled with sand. This place is so polar opposite. For ~20 euros, you get a whole plate filled with about 20-30 razor clams covered with olive oil, fresh herbs and lemon. None of the razor clams we had had any sand in them. It was truly addicting them. I still dream about those razor clams. Another highlight were the grilled shrimp. They were just grilled on a block of salt, nothing fancy. But the freshness kills. You really can taste fresh shrimp from the flavours and the texture of the meat. Finally, we had the fried calamari. So light and crispy and flavourful. Just simple and well cooked food. There isn't a need to do anything fancy with the ingredients when it's as here. Oh and you get complimentary dishes when you order beer. Did I mention the beer was only 2 euros a glass?? Overall -------- If you're in Granada, I would highly highly recommend checking this place out and getting the razor clams. I've never had them or seen them in the US and I doubt I will have better ones anywhere else. You really can't go wrong with what you order here. Please send some razor clams back :DDD

Imelda O.

Yelp
Food and drinks were great! The wait was a little too long and once we were able to get a spot at the bar, all the seats were taken. But we enjoyed a variety of drinks and tapas. Staff was friendly and accommodating and offered great suggestions on the menu.

David L.

Yelp
They seem to have a complicated schedule for small tapas and full plates. I went in around 5:30 looking for tapas, but was told they weren't serving tapas and I should order off the full menu. But when I ordered a drink, as mentioned by many other people, it came with a tapas sized plate of fried little fish - some small anchovy/sardine sort of thing. I tried larger portion of razor clams, which came lightly coated with a garlic butter sauce. They were fabulous.

Jordan R.

Yelp
For a mostly fried and mostly seafood place, this was really good. But for me, too much fried food is just hard. After a while I want something else! We ordered drinks so we got a free tapa of chicken nuggets. To be honest the chicken was my favorite and we didn't order it because it was supposed to be seafood speciality! It was lemony and had nice pepper too. We also got the octopus and fried mixed plate. The octopus was nice and had good flavor. By the time we got to the fried plate I was absolutely stuffed. I really loved the little cod fried balls though and the shrimp. If you want some fried or seafood- this is a good place to go!

Matt F.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this place. The service was friendly and always available despite the bar being completely packed at peak times. For Americans, yes, you get free food with each round of drinks. The Chopitos Plancha (baby squid) were delicious and very memorable as were the razor clams. I would say the razor clams are a must and go for squid if you are adventurous and have 2-4 people to share. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the tapas are generous. As a first time visitor to Spain, I don't love the beer but Alhambra Especial was a tasty and crisp pairing for the seafood.

Sally R.

Yelp
On our first trip to Granada (October 2014) we were lucky that we stopped to eat at this magnificent restaurant. So their specialty is seafood dishes. Everything was delicious!!! Not to mention that the local tradition in Granada is to give you a complimentary tapa with every drink purchase. This is in every place in the area however it is special in this restaurant because they give you seafood tapas. Not just anything but they truly give you a good and super delicious tapas. Tapas are appetizers or snacks in Spanish cuisine. They are perfect to give you the opportunity to try many dishes in a short time without overeating. Well if you order too many like I do then you will eat too much. Every dish we tried was scrumptious. The seafood platter was excellent and the boquerones were super tasty but not overly salty like I usually have them in USA. Squid and navajas were fresh and delicious. Absolutely everything we tried was delicious so we decided to go again for dinner the next day. I can't wait to go again! A definitely most try is you like seafood. I believe they have another location but we only visited this one. Buen provecho!

Amanda R.

Yelp
We stopped in to Bar Los Diamantes during a progressive tapas dinner in Granada. It was our first stop. We sat at the bar, ordered a drink, and got some fried fish. The wine, fish, and service were all good. It is a very busy place, as we attempted to go for lunch, but were too hungry to wait, so we came back at an odd time (by Spanish mealtime standards) and got in right away!

Chowder K.

Yelp
Awesome Food. Def'ly worth the trip. Fun atmosphere, friendly service. Helpful to tourists. Don't get confused with Los Diamantes on Calle Navas. The same ownership I think, but one on Calle Nava is so small and crowded, and this is def'ly for the local hangout joint. You gotta go to this place on Plaza Nueva. Enjoy!

Lauren C.

Yelp
The first time we were there was around 6pm, we ordered grilled shrimp(20 euro), sangria(2 euro) came with fried fish tapas, 2 lamb. Shrimps was NOT worth it. Each shrimp was the size of my pinky and some were not cooked. Lamb was good but tiny. Sangria was good. We wanted razor clams but they were out, seafood rice was out as well. We were disappointed so we decided to give it a second chance since our friend highly recommended it. The second time we got there around 4pm. Razor clam and seafood rice were still out. So we got sangria and the tapas we got was chicken tender... I don't think I'll come back.

Jun W.

Yelp
Very crowded place off the main road on Plaza Nueva and the experience was good. But the fried fish didn't taste as good as I thought. The Spanish Rice was great. Definitely pricier than the places in the alleyway.

Sherry C.

Yelp
This is a great seafood bar/tapas restaurant with several locations in Granada. This particular one is located by Plaza Nueva where live flamenco was performing during the "Spanish lunch hours" around 2pm. Restaurant was packed as usual. We got the grilled baby cuttlefish "chopitos" and small fried anchovies "boquerones". The cuttlefish were incredibly tender and full of flavors. As for anchovies, they were lightly battered crisp on the outside and the meat was sweet and tender. Never knew fresh anchovies can be this good! Good, fast service. Accepts all major credit cards

Siobhan S.

Yelp
While in Granada we visited both locations, though this one is the newer of the two and seems to be owned (from what we heard) by the other Diamantes locations son. The decor is significantly more modern than the original location and much bigger (and still just as crowded). We sampled several of the gratis tapas with our cañas, of which the bacalao which they are famous for (amazingly light and crispy, you will almost certainly get these during your visit) and several other fish tapas. If in Granada I definitely recommend stopping by one or both locations to take lunch or dinner, for two people and 3 drinks each we paid just about €8, which included the free tapas, and was plenty filling. I would like to note that both of the Los Diamantes are famous for their seafood so it's unlikely that you will receive any regular meats without ordering something off the menu, so if you have an aversion to seafood research other places unless you feel like ordering a portion off the menu (which seems to be rather expensive!)

Olivia P.

Yelp
Just ok I guess. I sat down for dinner - ordered a plate of mussels, pimento peppers and octopus - all of the dishes were over salted. Atmosphere wise was quite commercialized.. didn't have the same warmth as other tapas bars

April L.

Yelp
Busy! But don't give up. You will probably need to stand but there is a counter towards the toilets that will allow you to enjoy your tapas. Be vigilant as they are so busy you may need to remind them that you need your tapa.

Hannah M.

Yelp
Our host recommended this as one of the best tapas restaurants that locals love. We visited in the afternoon and it was packed full of locals. Took this as a sign that it had great food. We tried a variety of tapas. They were all great. Wonderful wine as well. Expect a crowd and you may find standing room only but it is worth it.

Farrokh S.

Yelp
We enjoyed eating there. Great sea food, clean, friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices. Yes, there were many people waiting to get in, perhaps because their food is so great. We will go there again. Near Alhambra

Edgar W.

Yelp
This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Granada. Located right on the Plaza Nueva, ground zero for most tourists who visit Granada, it doesn't in any way take unfair advantage of that. Their specialty is fish and they do it very well! You get a small plate of tapas when you order a drink or you can order from the a la carte menu, but prices are very reasonable, quality is very high and the atmosphere is great. If you go to Granada go to Bar Los Diamantes!

Leah C.

Yelp
I told them my dietary restrictions and they were not willing to accommodate at all for me.

Alec T.

Yelp
This place is super good. Stop in for a drink and get some free delicious seafood tapas. Fried cod and fried anchovies for us. The service is friendly and the beer is cold, what more could you ask for? This place is too straight forward for a long review, just get in here. You'll be happy.

K C.

Yelp
It was recommended by a friend who lived here for a few months. Came here twice (because we wanted to give it a second chance) - Got here around 6pm the first time and we got the grilled shrimp(20 euro), sangria(2 euro), which came with fried fish tapas, 2 lamb chop(2.5euro each). We also wanted the razor clams and seafood rice but they were out. The grilled Shrimps was NOT worth the price at all. Even though it was fresh, it was tiny. Some werent even cooked. Lamb was good but barely has any meat on it (i guess you get what you paid for). Sangria was good. We came around 4pm the second time, they didnt have razor clam and seafood rice again. We got a sangria and a coke and only got one small plate of chicken tender....(I guess if you order drinks together with another person you only get one tapa...so maybe order separately and pretend you dont know your friend lol?) probably not going to come back.

M C.

Yelp
Great place for seafood. The assortment of fried fishes was very good, as well as the marinated tomatoes. Drinks are reasonable prices at 2 euro each. They give you a free tapas with each drink. It is popular with tourist and locals.

Mar R.

Yelp
Great tapas!! Huge plate of tiny clams that were delicious!! The mushrooms were also very good. Sangria was ok. Highly recommend!! Place is jam packed with locals and you have to squeeze in the bar or get lucky with a small table. Push your way in and order a drink to start and they will likely bring you a free tapa with the menu and your drink.

Flaviu F.

Yelp
We had probably the best fried Gambas (prawns) we ever had here. Delicious. For 15€ enough for 2 persons. The smell is awesome and also the vibe. The guys taking the orders are heroes :)) You'll understand why when you're there. People helping out and giving the orders from the bar. I felt like in a small community. We just walked in from the street having a friend's recommendation. Totally worth it!

Will Y.

Yelp
Spent a few days in Granada with the wife and mother in law. They love Granada and tend to come to diamantes several times each trip. This is my first time and I agree that this spot is a must if you're ever in Granada. Not to mention, you get free tapas for each beer you order - 2 euros. This place can get pretty packed but the food is fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back next time. It is highly recommended if you are in the area.

Eric S.

Yelp
We received the free tapa, fried fish bites. They were amazing. It's a Spanish tapas bar with an atmosphere comparable to Five Guys Burgers in the States lol. However, it did not disappoint. It is highly rated for a reason and again, no many English speakers eating or working at the restaurant.

Shuyi J.

Yelp
I don't understand why this place is so busy,I think it's not as good as I myself cook randomly at home... Too salty and plain.

RocknPop R.

Yelp
Fantastic experience. If you're looking for the following things, this is your place: - friendly and fast service - free tapas with a round of drinks (nice surprise!) - delicious seafood - truly a huge assortment of seafood - communal friendly tables (probably 50% tourist and 50% local tourists) - proximity to la Alhambra - relatively inexpensive (€30 for two 1/2 raciones and 2 rounds of drinks, and two small appetizers)

Eric D.

Yelp
Great tapas and friendly servers. Great spot in Granda for fried calamari and vegetables.

Stella Z.

Yelp
Every time I come to Granada this is my most frequent restaurant. Okay, who am I kidding, I come to Granada so I can eat here! If you are a seafood lover, this place is recommended. Order lots of drinks so you can eat free tapas. I'd also like order a few uncommon tapa items from the menu. You can do half size or whole.

Eileen V.

Yelp
A must visit when in Granada- Great food with open kitchen view. The seafood and fish are the stars! Fast service- funny friendly waiters. Located in the center of historic Granada Delicious and memorable!
