Finally! If I were to ever open and run a bar, it'd be a heck of a lot like Bar Mars. The ambiance is lighthearted, with cartoons painted on the walls. The drink glasses are a mix of what I'd expect to find in my grandparents home bar, crossed with a swanky 1950's/1960's hangout. It's small and cozy, and just the kind of place you'd like to just sit and spend some time.
Don't mistake the lighthearted ambiance with the quality of what they serve, though. From ingredients to recipes, they take each of their cocktails seriously. Also serious are their choices of wine and beer. And although we just stopped in for a drink, their food menu is small looks worth coming back for...from a burger to pork belly bao...whatever my mood I'm sure to find something.
I'd be remiss, though, if I didn't THE MUSIC. It was like stepping into my own head (not a place I'd dare most people to go ). I'm now inspired to go into the garage, dig out my old cassette tapes and records, and convert them to digital, specifically those gems that I haven't already replaced in digital form. Their menu mentioned I may hear some John Denver...which I did not in the brief time I was there...maybe next time, which will be soon.
