So happy that one of my best friends in Barcelona and former colleague, Paco, brought me and our friend and also dear ex colleague Marta to this real Modernism (Art Nouveau) bar/restaurant. Every time I go to Barcelona this friend always brings back great memories and help me create new ones.
Taking me to Muy Buenas was one of those happy forever memorable moments. The restaurant is small, located in Carrer del Carme, one of the most iconic streets of El Raval, next to Las Ramblas. You enter there and not only you get transported in time because all the decor, objects, furniture is from the 1920s but also because the menu tries to recreate the food normal people who used to go to bars to have the menu of the day ate back those days. Simple, delicious, local food. Simplicity is key, and great quality.
I had suquet de peix, which is like a fish stew/soup. The only size if you go there from countries like the US is that it would look more like an appetizer like a real dish (it is really small, presented in cute cazueleta or clay dish). It is a simple yet very elegant restaurant, no strident music, no loud anything. Good service, good food. You enter in a piece of history, you are part of Muy Buenas history as well. I was enchanted (not totally full stomach but went elsewhere for more goodies).
