My friend and I were visiting a nearby museum and were starving, so we asked one of the employees there to recommend a place for a late lunch, particularly a place that served typical Chilean food. She recommend this spot and I'm so glad she did. This place was just packed with locals at like 3 in the afternoon. We walked and the host said we could sit wherever we liked. Looking around, a lot of people were drinking beer and wine with their meals. They have a big menu, with lots of typical Chilean dishes, but also things like pasta. It was a bit of a cold day, so I ordered the cazuela de vacuno, which is a beef soup with lots of stuff in it. It came with a super delicious tender large piece of beef, a whole potato, a piece of some kind of squash (maybe pumpkin), carrots, green beans, and corn on the cob. This was one of the best things I ate while I was in Chile. Everything about it was perfect - the veggies were cooked perfectly and the broth was light and amazing. My friend ordered the chicken cazuela and she really liked hers too. It was basically the same as mine except with chicken instead of beef. Instead of having beer like all the locals, we had fresh fruit juices - I had mango and it was so yummy. Oh we also got bread with the pebre (Chilean salsa) - the bread was okay, but the pebre was good. But the cazuela - one of the best meals I had in South America! Buen provecho!
