Seemed a decent place to try Chilean/Santiago dishes. Had the pastel de choclo. Had enough locals in it and business types eating lunch to make it feel a non touristy trap style place.

Absolutely delightful! We stopped by for lunch and had a wonderful time. The food was prepared fresh and delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. A wonderful experience for locals and tourists.

We had a nice dinner here! Cazuela, porotos granados, and sangria. Very tasty, and a fun vibe.

Not the way it used to be… porotos Granados was tasteless… overrated and expensive local beer for 5.5$ come on…

This is the place if you want to eat true Chilean food. It. They have various types of empanadas, pastel the choclo, barros lucos, hamborgesa casera, and tortillas. The location is in a pedestrian section near the presidential palace, La Moneda. And it is usually crowded during lunch time in week days. The space is very limited and the service is tough for the servers. It was a great experience that I recommend to the locals and visitors.

Loud and brassy, this bustling restaurant is a great place for lunch downtown. Push your way in and enjoy an unremodeled slice of 1970s Santiago.

If you want traditional Chilean “Fuentes” (diner food), this place - along with Las Cabras, Fuentes Alemana - is the best. Veteran waiters with an old school charm about them. Something to experience. Wonderful atmosphere and attracts a crowd from all walks of life. Seems like a true Santiago institution. In short- if Antony bourdain did a Santiago feature, this place would probably come up!

Average food and service. There is a large seating area upstairs but it's so crowded it's hard to eat comfortable. They do have wifi.

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting a nearby museum and were starving, so we asked one of the employees there to recommend a place for a late lunch, particularly a place that served typical Chilean food. She recommend this spot and I'm so glad she did. This place was just packed with locals at like 3 in the afternoon. We walked and the host said we could sit wherever we liked. Looking around, a lot of people were drinking beer and wine with their meals. They have a big menu, with lots of typical Chilean dishes, but also things like pasta. It was a bit of a cold day, so I ordered the cazuela de vacuno, which is a beef soup with lots of stuff in it. It came with a super delicious tender large piece of beef, a whole potato, a piece of some kind of squash (maybe pumpkin), carrots, green beans, and corn on the cob. This was one of the best things I ate while I was in Chile. Everything about it was perfect - the veggies were cooked perfectly and the broth was light and amazing. My friend ordered the chicken cazuela and she really liked hers too. It was basically the same as mine except with chicken instead of beef. Instead of having beer like all the locals, we had fresh fruit juices - I had mango and it was so yummy. Oh we also got bread with the pebre (Chilean salsa) - the bread was okay, but the pebre was good. But the cazuela - one of the best meals I had in South America! Buen provecho!

Yelp
Great place. Stopped in for dinner and watched a soccer game with the local crowd. Pastel de Choclo was really good. Service was friendly even though we didn't speak Spanish and they take credit cards. Food felt like a great value.

Yelp
This was my second time at Bar Nacional N.2 in Santiago. I had "Corderito Arvejado" which was a tasteful experience from 3 tender Lamb chops submerged in a mountain of saucy Petit Pois and chopped carrots. Juicy and great enough. Accompanied by another mountain of good french fries and a fountain Beer. Claps to the chefs. But what I don't congratulate are the waiters, very unfriendly, selfish and rude with me and my wife. The old and grumpy one with us maybe heard our latam spanish accent and immediately acted as deaf all times we requested his service. A great Chilean gourmet experience spoiled by unfriendly waiters that apparently enjoy showing their egos but making tourist customers unhappy. I maybe never get back there if I ever see same waiter again.
