"A Bar with Personality True to its name, this is an old bar, with Victorian-style décor, stained glass, art nouveau lamps, and red velvet sofas. You can find a long list of cocktails, as the manager has history in the Miami cruise ship industry. From the food menu, try the Old Vic steak—or some toast or a sandwich, if you want something lighter. There is a button to call the waiter and another one to regulate the light intensity."

Terrible experience at Old Vic! I went there with friends expecting to have a good time, but the service was absolutely disappointing. I waited for over 30 minutes just to place an order. The waiter was rude and disrespectful from the start. When he finally came to the table, he brought popcorn and acted annoyed because I was impatient — after such a long wait, who wouldn’t be? When I tried to order something, he said they were only serving ham and cheese toasties, without giving any proper explanation or apology. On top of that, the prices were insanely high for both food and drinks. The drinks especially are ridiculously overpriced considering the poor service and limited options. Definitely not worth it. Terrible cost-benefit. There are plenty of better places in Lisbon with way better service and fairer prices.

We went to Old Vic for cocktails. This place is nothing less but perfect. You feel like treated on hands and the cocktails are unreal, so delicious. Marcel is one of the greatest bartenders we have met and he has got a pure heart. Totally recommended!

We were just looking for a pub that was closing later than most, when we found this hidden gem. It has a nice, warm and cosy atmosphere with cool decorations, good music and the most lovely bartender I've met in a long time. Old Vic is not only a pub, it is a place with a kind soul that you feel right after entering. I am very grateful for this experience it was the highlight of my trip to Lisbon. Thank you for having us!

Great snacks. Good cocktails that sneak up on you. Really cool environment with red velvet seats and antiques. Feels like an English pub. A little pricey.

A place where you can talk with friends without yelling. Loved the entire vibe of the place. Just make sure to bring cash though. When we went there, unfortunately they didn’t accept cards or MBway at least. Would still recommend the place. Loved the drinks! The drinks were really good with reasonable price, and it wasn’t full of ice, like what other bars do. Would definitely come back.

Barman coughing and spluttering all over the glasses, that was when he decided to actually go behind the bar and wasn't outside smoking. Dirty bar cloths on the bar, not clean. Then came the rip off, cash only!!! €19.50 for 3 pints of Sagres. Here in Lisbon on business, will not be back. Just awful, should have left after the first pint, was hoping it would improve but it didn't.

Hidden bar in Lisbon. Older man working behind the bar, and we were one of the first customers to arrive. It's definitely a vibe, and I would recommend it to come earlier. Be aware that it is a smoking bar, but that's part of the "bodega" experience.

Yelp
We went here in late 2019. I was just reminiscing about Lisbon and thought I'd pass by here, and chime in. I also just stumbled on a business card I grabbed at the time, reminding me of this place. This is a fun bar, but it's on you to have fun, if it's what you're seeking. It's not a loud club where everyone's standing around and there is no dance floor. I can't remember if this was in a low rise building or a house, but the layout was delightfully strange. We sat in a loungey size room, but there was another smaller room where the bar was with the uniformed older dudes running the joint. They were playing 80's pop, not too loud, and the place is super dark and feels like you're sitting down in a time warp. The staff had uniforms, there was a bell at the table to summon them, the cocktails, vibe, everything about it seemed super old, and the fact that you have to really look for this place or you'll miss it further cements the ye olde impression of this place. So nothing mind blowing, but if you want to step back to 1968 for some drinking, I recommend this spot. We were here near winter, so I don't know if there is a patio or deck. And of course, smoking's allowed. Most places I've been to in Lisbon are like that, but coming from Canada, that's a retro novelty itself.
