Where to Eat in Siena, Italy
Bar Pasticceria Nannini Conca d'Oro

Poor service. You go yo thr counter to get 4 or 5 different items to try, order coffee and hot chocolate to then find out you have to eat standing up. Hot chocolate is POUR CHOCOLATE. Extremely sweet. Pastries were ok, but definitely not coming back here. There's 100 places where you can eat sitting down. I'm not use to spending money in a business n have to stand up to eat bcoz you CAN NOT SIT AT THE TABLES IN THE BACK UNLESS YOU ORDER AT THE TABLE. I would have been OK with that, had i known before I ordered. I WILL NOT COME BACK HERE

Easily the worst experience we had in Italy during our trip. It was a festival of chaos and rudeness. A group of four of us sat down at a table, planning to order some coffee and pastries. After waiting for about 10 minutes with no service, we went to the counter to order sandwiches and pastries from the display window instead. Keep in mind, we still intended to order our coffee at the table and were happy to pay the coperto for table service. When we tried to place our food order, the staff already seemed annoyed that we wanted “so much” — one sandwich and one cake each. When I asked which pastry she would recommend, the lady simply rolled her eyes at me. My friend ordered an Earl Grey tea, but was later told that they don’t have it, as you have to choose tea elsewhere, which made no sense. We carried our food back to the table, still waiting to order our coffees — and suddenly, everyone started shouting at us that we couldn’t eat there because we had purchased the food “from the other side.” There was absolutely no need to shout. We calmly explained that we were about to order drinks at the table, but they insisted we couldn’t sit there unless we paid double for the food — which was absurd, as all items already had visible prices. It honestly felt borderline dishonest. In the end, they kicked us out of the table, and all four of us, with our luggage, had to stand awkwardly at a small table to finish our food. When we then tried to order coffees, they refused to serve us, saying we could only order takeaway coffee from the other counter — the same one we had just queued at. They literally refused to serve us even when we offered to pay the sit-down price, seemingly just to prove a point. The most frustrating part? Most tables were empty, and there were no signs anywhere saying you couldn’t bring items from one counter to another. After us, another couple tried to do the same, and they were also shouted at. In all my years of travelling, I have never been treated with such rudeness — the shouting, the eye-rolling, the complete lack of respect. The sandwich was decent, but the brioche was stale, dry, and the cream tasted off — I ended up throwing it away. There are so many better places in Italy to enjoy good food and friendly service. Save yourself the stress and skip this one.

Very crowded cafe in Siena. The cafe has a history and is so famous for all. Nice cappuccino and pastries to try for a breakfast.

Prepare to transform yourself into a kid in a candy store. Amazing, crazy place. If it wasn’t for the mouth watering desserts the mad crowd would have kept me away. Super happy we fought our way in and had a chance to savor this incredible desert place in the heart of Siena.

Absolutely love the whole vibe of this place from the coffee bar in the front to the huge selection of pastries. Without a doubt, you must get the ricciarelli cookies. Siena is also famous for their ancient fruit cake called panpepato. We didn’t taste it but bought one wrapped for a gift. I’m sure it will be delicious based on the three desserts we did try. But extra of everything or you will regret it.

Absolutely terrible service. I was treated with complete disrespect by a staff member (tall, blonde woman, around 50 years old) at the Siena location. I simply hesitated when choosing a dessert and politely asked to switch it — she was visibly annoyed. When I later asked for a takeaway coffee at the register, she raised her voice and rudely told me I should have said that at the bar. When I calmly said “okay,” she yelled that I was “demanding too much.” This was shocking, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. I will never return and do not recommend this place to anyone. I’ll be leaving a negative review on every platform possible.

Walked in here two days ago thinking it would be nice but it was chaos inside and dirty. We were seated but no one came to take our orders. Waited 10 mins and still no one and when I went to ask was told that I will be served when they were ready. Extremely poor service. Not sure how the food and drinks were as at that point I chose to walk out as service and cleanliness means more to me than the quality of the food and drinks. Choose Gastronomia Morbidi Cocktail Bar over this place - drinks and excellent service there where you’re not treated as just another dollar sign.

Shitty service the lady at the counter has some sort of attitude problem. Felt like I ran her dog over or did some sort of disservice while ordering. Tiramisu was frozen in the middle far from decent especially for 7 euros. Cappuccino tasted and looked cheap. Hot chocolate was the only plus it is actual chocolate but they don’t have the option of cream.
