What do I even say about this place? Just amazing. Such a hidden gem. The ambience, the food, the people and the vibe are just spectacular! I loved every bit of it. Omg, the Margarita pizza was out of this world with hot honey dip! I also had a cocktail converted into a cocktail named Sour Poet and it was good too!!!

We had such a great experience at Bar Poet! The atmosphere inside was absolutely beautiful—so unique and vibey. Our server was fantastic: super friendly, laid-back, and made the whole night even better. The food and drinks were phenomenal—every dish hit the spot. To top it all off, they surprised us with a birthday dessert and shots to celebrate my friend’s birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. Can’t wait to come back again!

Bar Poet nails it with their beer selection seriously impressive stuff. Do yourself a favor and order the pepperoni pizza trust me, it's a must and those warm olives? Ridiculously good. We also went for the Microdose pizza and the Spicy Rigatoni absolute flavor sensations.

We had a great lunch today at Bar Poet. Rob was our server and he was so welcoming and had an awesome vibe. Everything was quick and the staff was kind. Not too mention, it's a gorgeous venue that used to be a church! Loved it and will definitely plan to go back.

Bar Poet is one of those rare spots that manages to feel both effortlessly cool and wonderfully cozy at the same time. From the moment you step in, you’re transported into a dreamy, atmospheric space—twinkling lights, ivy-covered ceilings, exposed brick, and a vibe that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Europe. It’s moody, intimate, and bursting with charm, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic date. We ordered the Casablanca pizza, and it was an absolute flavour bomb. Think tender pulled spicy chicken, melty cheese, a perfect kick of heat from pickled chilies, and a light, crispy crust that held everything together beautifully. Every bite had that ideal combo of spice, savouriness, and indulgence. This pizza doesn’t just satisfy—it makes a statement. To sip, we tried their famous cocktails and were blown away. The Rose Sangria was light, fragrant, and perfectly balanced—fruity without being too sweet, with lovely floral notes that elevated every sip. The Purple Rain cocktail stole the show visually and taste-wise. Served icy and vibrant, it tasted like a burst of berries and citrus wrapped in a refreshing, smooth finish. I also had their signature Bar Poet beer, which was surprisingly excellent—crisp, clean, and easy to drink, the kind of beer that’s perfect whether you’re starting your night or winding it down. With great service, inventive drinks, and food that delivers beyond expectations, Bar Poet is a place I’d go back to in a heartbeat. It’s got personality, passion, and that little spark that turns a night out into a memory.

The interior is beautifully decorated with lots of ambient lighting a big tree, creating a great atmosphere. They also have a nice outdoor patio, perfect for warmer evenings. The food and drinks were solid—especially the pizza, which I highly recommend trying.

Google
A mixed bag - sit outside on a warm day for the best time. We visited Bar Poet twice because we had the BEST experience the first time, but the second left a lot to be desired. FIRST TIME: We were sat outside on a lovely warm evening. Our server was friendly and chatty throughout, which added to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious. Arancini and mozzarella sticks were a standout for starters, and the chicken caesar salad and parmesan chicken sandwich were absolutely delicious. Sipping a cool drink in the sunset, everything was lovely. SECOND TIME: Our second time was a whole different kettle of fish. We were sat inside near a DJ which was loud, and the room was dark and dingy. Our server treated us like she didn’t want to be there (which, in fairness, I can’t blame her for), rushing through everything and snapping at us to the point that it felt rude. We had a pizza this time which was average at best. We paid and quickly left as it wasn’t an enjoyable place to be. Overall, this place has bags of potential but I would highly recommend sitting outside on a warm evening for the best experience.

Yelp
I've wanted to try this place for months! However, I could never find a good reason to visit Queen St. W. Eventually though, you just get in the car and start driving! This place is so pretty! I've seen so many photos on Instagram and Yelp and always wondered if filters were being used because why would a place with such a pretty, laid back atmosphere not get more attention? I had tried to order online but their system was down (off their website not Uber). So we went inside to place the order and was able to take in the atmosphere while they were preparing the food. They offered us a place to sit and some water. We were one of 3 tables so it was like we had the place to ourselves! The food was pretty good! Th OG margherita pizza which was the part of the meal that was good not great. The heroic dose was popular all around (including 1 very picky kid). Price point is reasonable for portion size. Staff were friendly! Lots of street parking available. It would be a great place to go with friends for a few drinks. Definitely worth checking out. You won't feel like you're in downtown Toronto!

Yelp
Gord and I had supper Tuesday evening. It's been a while since we've been there ... we've tried to get in a few times but it's always jammed. We both had a Three Little Pigs pizza (Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Crispy Bacon, 'Ndu ja Sausage, Pepperoni, Basil, Parmigiano) ... mine without parm. We both took home half for lunch tomorrow. They were good pizzas, though the 'Ndu ja Sausage was really salty. Daria was friendly and took good care of us.

Yelp
Let me say, this is an absolutely gorgeous place to go for a girl's night out. My two best friends and I went here for our monthly "bar and yap" and we were not disappointed. The inside has these gorgeous vines dangling from the ceiling, and the interior is dark and feels very intimate. The music is very loud though so I did find myself shouting here and there, but that never stopped me! We got the following food: - Garlic fingers: These were great! I didn't really expect to find donair sauce in the GTA (I'm more used to it in the Maritimes) but they were garlicky, cheesy, and sweet! 8/10 - Hand cut fries: We got two of these. Very standard but got it for the sake of eating bar food. 7/10 - Dovercourt and Queen "sweet" calamari: We got two of these too! This is probably one of the best calamari's I've had - probably because it's so interesting with the sauce. It's sweet and tangy and salty and a marriage of flavours! Could not stop munching at it all night. 10/10 For drinks we ordered a bunch to try: - Purple rain: I didn't think I was a gin girl but I tried this and was pleasantly surprised! I think this is a great one to try if you're apprehensive like I am. The drink is also very pretty. 9/10 - Peanut butter espresso martini: Unique and adds some substance to the classic espresso martini! I would get this again and again. 10/10 - Lychee martini: This was very standard but great for people who love something sweet. 7/10 - Sangria: I can't find it on the menu anymore but I swear we ordered this! Maybe it's a non-menu item or I am mixing it up with something else. It's pretty and very delicious. 9/10 Overall the service was great and they were very attentive but also gave us our alone time for our girls night as the night went on. I would come back again - but unfortunately it's a little out of the way for me to come frequently. I hope they open a second location at some point!

Yelp
We made a reservation for 4 on a Saturday afternoon using Resy and we were seated promptly. The service was nice but nothing over the top. We ordered the calamari, 2 mushroom papardelle, 1 spicy rigatoni & 1 hot rod pizza. Everything tasted great, but the portions of the calamari and pastas were verrrrryyyyyy small. I still felt hungry afterwards. The pizza was very well done. Make sure to order the creamy garlic dip! Bill came to around $90 for two people after tax and tip for 1 pasta, 1 pizza & calamari.

Yelp
So good. I made a reservation pretty far in advance for a table at 8ish, since we were just coming into Toronto around them and wanted dinner. Our server was very friendly and the service was relatively quick. The food was out of this world. Definitely pricey but I'd say it's worth it. I got the spicy vodka pasta and the bread along with my drink, and it rivals a lot of the best Italian places in the area. It is super loud and definitely for a younger crowd, especially on the weekends. If you're ok with a dark and noisy atmosphere, I would urge you to check this place out. It's absolutely gorgeous and a must-visit if you're in Toronto.

Yelp
A great late night spot if you're looking for a quick, tasty, and filling meal. It does get a little loud in here, but it's still a vibe. Our servers were so friendly and happy to recommend their favorite items from the menu. I had a shrimp pizza and a glass of Lambrusco which were both good enough that I scarfed them down before taking a photo.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant! The starters that we ordered (garlic bread, bruschetta, and calamari) were amazing. Tried the Hot Rod pizza as my main. Delicious! The servers were really nice and friendly! The design inside is awesome, great spot to meet up with friends. Unfortunately we were sat right underneath a speaker and it was a little bit difficult to hear each other but the vibe was amazing otherwise!

Yelp
I came here with a group of friends and we ordered the gnocchi, Margherita pizza, mushroom pizza, and calamari. I can't choose a favorite because everything was solid! The pizza had a nice thin crust and generous toppings, fries were crispy and perfect paired with the garlic aioli, calamari was light and generous in size, and gnocchi was simple and delicious. I would recommend making reservations to avoid long wait times. The atmosphere is inviting with dim lighting and artificial greenery... definitely a good spot for photos! The only thing is that washrooms are downstairs and you have to walk down a long flight of stairs which may be an accessibility concern for some. Can't wait to go back for good food and good vibes!

Yelp
If you do not look like you're from around. Skip this place. Their manager asked my friends and I to "go back home" multiple times after laying hands on a friend of ours. If she would've refused service we would've still understood. But, apparently it wasn't enough according to her.The manager's name is Jaime. I'd steer clear away from this place.

Yelp
The arancini ($15) was seriously good. Made with mushroom risotto, there's an earthiness to the creamy rice ball that's stronger than the cheese only versions. But add in sambal cream and chili oil and that hit of heat goes so well with the comforting starter. Somehow, we ordered a lot of dishes incorporating chili. The NYC spicy rigatoni ($18.95), an item so highly recommended in Google reviews, was surprisingly plain: pasta tossed in a spicy rosé cream with a fine dusting of Parmigiano. While it was tasty, a few spoonsful were sufficient, I can't imagine having an entire dish to myself. Even the Dovercourt and Queen 'sweet' calamari ($19) had a zing. The menu describes the sauce as being tomato based (pomodoro aioli) but tasted like the spicy rigatoni. Regardless, it's a flavourful dish as goat cheese, chives and pickled peppers mingles with the squid. Even though the ingredients do detract from the calamari's crispiness. Bar Poet is known for their pizzas (all $22). If you like pepperoni, you'll love the Hot Rod, a pie covered with tiny pepperoni with hot honey creating a sweet, salty, and spicy bite. For me, it was a bit greasy and heavy, but likely wouldn't bother a pepperoni aficionado. I preferred Rob's Favourite Pizza, which sounded like a hodgepodge of ingredients, but they work together so nicely. A white pizza made with alfredo bacon sauce, it combines pulled chicken, brie, kale, spinach, caramelized onion, hot honey, chili flakes, and Parmigiano. Despite all the spicy elements, the pizza was the least spicy of the dishes we ordered, likely the chili and hot honey calmed by the creamy ingredients. Rob knows how to create an interesting meaty pie. The pizza crust stays dry on the bottom despite an ample number of toppings. While it doesn't have the requisite crispiness I enjoy, there was a lovely chewy consistency and sour dough finish that makes it tasty even without dipping sauce. Additionally, I love the inclusiveness of Bar Poet's pizza menu with pies available gluten-free as well as vegan. Everyone raves about the tiramisu ($9). While it wasn't terrible, it also wasn't great. It incorporated too much cream (didn't incorporate enough mascarpone) and not enough of the espresso ladyfingers. While the Skor bits adds a unique element, left in chunks it was too crunchy and would be better in powdered form. We were intrigued by the peanut butter espresso martini ($19), which emits a faint aroma of peanut butter but none of the taste. A decent rendition of the drink, it's really sugary given it's mostly made with Tia Maria and no vodka. Ultimately, one is enough, and I was glad that I switched to their other cocktails like the white negroni ($19).

Yelp
Absolutely go to Bar Poet! The ambiance, the food, the cocktails, everything was AMAZING! I am from LA and came here right after my flight and it was the most delicious dinner and drinks I could have ever asked for after being on a long tiring flight. Our server (I wish I could remember his name but he was FABULOUS! If you served the outside bench area on September 17, 2024 at around 8 or 9pm and gave us free shots as a welcome to Toronto, we LOVE you!) Worth making a reservation for but we did not, as we weren't sure when we'd fly in. They took us as walk ins with no issue. Would highly recommend and would love to come here again next time I'm in Toronto!

Yelp
Bar Poet was easily my #1 stop for summer beer crawls in 2024. I don't even mind that there can be a wait sometimes, because it's easily one of the highlights of my night. Things I love about Bar Poet: - Bar Poet Lager & Bar Poet Honey : Delicious beer, and a decent deal in Toronto for $8.50/$9.00 - Pizza : After a few beers, I am usually craving Bar Poet's Microdose pizza. It's just the best. - Interior & Patio : They literally have the cutest indoor decor, perfect for first date vibes. My go-to spot is their sidewalk patio, it's one of my favorite people-watching spots in the city. 10/10 will visit again.

Yelp
Cute spot! Nice ambience and good for dates. If you want a table/ booth I recommend booking reservations. Walk ins usually get seated at the bar. NYC SPICY RIGATONI - Rose Sauce, Basil, Parmigiano and plus add shrimp. I ordered this and thought it was was good. Portion it was bit smaller than I expected but would be filling if you add an appetizer. Might be nice if they provided an option for meat too. ROB'S FAVOURITE PIZZA - Pulled Chicken, House Alfredo, Bacon, Triple Cream Brie, Black Kale, Chili Flakes, Spinach, Caramelized onion, Hot Honey, Parmigiano. My friend had this and I tasted a little. Oh boy did it have a kick for me! Haha. Overall this place is good for dates and dates. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
5 stars because the vibes and service was super nice!! 4 for the food! The Spicy Rigatoni and Mozzarella sticks were good! but not wow factor. Pizza Hot Rod was okay. Watermelon daiquiri was ok as well

Yelp

Enter Bar Poet and behold the din Drink beer and cocktails, eat pizza so thin With rosy cheeks and warm insides, Venture home Where your inner poet resides

Yelp
Bar Poet is phenomenal! We come from a city known for excellent pizza but did the research and wanted to see what Toronto could deliver ...and boy did it deliver. We ordered the microdose pizza and the Caesar and both were insanely yummy. The ambiance is freaking adorable and Spencer was working the front of the house and so informative, kind and personable! Make reservations- because this place is popular but for very good reason!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolute horrible experience. Ordered the poet salad delivered just lettuce and no dressing complete slap in the face. Salad was 22 CAD!!! For lettuce. Do not use this business. PATHETIC

Yelp
Why this place has low ratings is beyond me. This is such a cozy place! Went in for lunch - drinks were beautiful but the food was the highlight of our afternoon. We tried the Arancini, the Heroic Dose pasta, the OG Margherita pizza, and the Microdose pizza - everything was so good but both of the mushroom dishes i.e. Heroic Dose pasta and Microdose pizza were just next level. This place is a vegetarian's paradise. Drinks - I love everything Purple so had to try the Purple Rain and as expected it turned out to be so pretty! We also tried two other drinks: the Pink Pisco Sour and The Juliet Rose and both were equally delicious. Must stop by if you are in Toronto!

Yelp
My husband and I have been here twice. We love the food and the aesthetic. The service is always top notch. Great for date night, birthday, girls night/guys night, whatever you want to do. They have a sister bar across the street called Astoria. Can't wait to try it.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! Walking two steps up and into Bar Port you meet the hostess. We were sat fairly quick, but we also had a reservation so I am not sure if that impacted the service. It was already quite full when we arrived and it was 9PM. We were sat in a large corner high top and our waitress Savannah (I believe) was very attentive, and she also had a lot of support from her coworkers as they would also brings us our food and drinks and ask if there was anything else we needed. The drinks her are chefs kiss! We were in a group of four and ordered Juliet Rose, Paper Plane and Smokey Robinson. All drinks were strong, tasty and had a gorgeous presentation. The Juliet Rose was topped with Egg White and it was a phenomenal addition to the drink. It was creamy, cleansed your palette and elevated the drink! I also tired the Strawberry Basil Mojito and holy hell, that was literally the BEST mojito I've ever tasted and I have tasted many in my life! It was refreshing, tasted so fresh and it was definitely a drink that could sneak up on depending on your tolerance! Lastly, the food was equally delicious! We ordered the Hot Rod pizza which is a pepperoni pizza topped with hot honey. I would recommend ordering the hot agave as a side, it is a little spicy, but gives an extra kick to the pizza. The meatballs were ok in my opinion. They are served in a bowl (3) with a thick slice of sourdough bread which tasted a little spicy. They were very moist and cheesy, but flavor wise I was not impressed, but was also not disappointed. The area surrounding the bar is very lovely, has lots of bars to walk to incase you want to continue the night, and overall it was just a great experience. I would definitely recommend visiting Bar Poet, grab a drink and play some skeeball. *something to note if you are a tourist, they do not accept American money, so please bring CAD if you prefer to pay cash!
google avatar

Yelp
Bar Poet's interior invites to an atmosphere that feels like you are outside on a warm patio - which is lovely on a cold winter day. We got the mozzarella sticks (5/5) and the Nduja pizza (2/5). The pizza just didn't hit the mark. It felt like they missed adding the Stracciatella and the Parmigiano overpowered the whole thing. The place is narrow so our seats kept getting bumped with people walking behind us. The bathrooms downstairs were also freezing.
google avatar

Yelp
Went for dinner with a group of friends and had a really enjoyable experience! I was really surprised by how dark it was, the primary light was coming from candles, but it was fun. To drink I tried the peanut butter espresso martini which was delicious! I'd never had one before and it was surprisingly delightful. A word of warning for those who eat the banana chip garnish it is like taking a shot! To eat, my friend and I shared a large Caesar salad and the NYC spicy pasta (I can't remember what pasta it is... rigatoni?). Both were excellent!! Really enjoyed them. We also shared a tiramisu. It wasn't my favourite. I think the ratios were a little off. The amount of cream was more than I would have liked. It's the only dessert I saw though. I enjoyed my meal and my friends also had a wonderful time.

Yelp
We stopped in for a couple drinks in the afternoon. We didn't order food. Everything was great! Very cool atmosphere.

Yelp
Visited in the summer and it was hotttt! Felt like there was no a/c and it felt cooler outside. We enjoyed the Food and drinks. Our party thought eveeyrhing was great. They especially loved the espresso martini. We loved the vibe of this place and it had cute decor. Service was good and best to reserve online when possible as it gets busy. Great date spot!

Yelp
This place has the perfect ambiance for a date. It is difficult to get a spot so make sure you come early. The service is pretty prompt considering the crowd. This place is known for its cocktails and pastas, so make sure you try them.

Yelp
We decided to try Bar Poet for some late night dinner and drinks on a Monday based on the reviews on Yelp and we're so glad we did! We didn't think it would be busy whatsoever so we skipped making a reservation and walked in. We got there just in time because this placed was packed! We waited less than 5 minutes and scored a high top table. What we got: Dovercourt & Queen Sweet Calamari Heroic Dose Micro Dose Three Little Pigs Service was quick, chill, and friendly. Everyone was a vibe honestly. The songs they were playing was a mix of all genres and a dj even came out later on. Love the way they brought the outside indoor too. As for the food, we enjoyed everything! I didn't think bar food would be all that but Bar Poet delivered! Both pizzas had a great crust, the pasta was delicious and seasoned very well, the calamari was crispy while still being soft and tender inside. We would definitely come back here if we visit Toronto again!
google avatar

Cin C.

Yelp
I have to give Bar Poet an extra star for having such good vibes. During a cold dark winter, you can simply step through the doors and be transported to summer nights on a patio under a canopy of trees and twinkle lights. The space is bustling with hip trendy crowds enjoying a night out. Be aware of the time though! There is a strict 2 hour seating time so don't think you can linger for too long. Also, reservations are a must. I had a cocktail and shared some pizza with my friends. The cocktail was okay but not to a speak-easy level. The pizza that stood out from the crowd was the Shrimp Rose pizza. I've never had shrimp on a pizza and it paired well with the rose sauce and the lemon herbs.

Thomas B.

Yelp
What a great place! We were in Toronto for New Year's Eve and we stumbled on this place! The cocktails, food and service were amazing!!! One of the owners came out and greeted us! Next time we are in Toronto we will make it a point to go back!
google avatar

Simran K.

Yelp
Phenomenal night - from the ambience to the food to the service, nothing fell short. With a glass of red in each hand, we commenced our meal with some Calamari which was beautifully crisp, and seasoned and garnished beautifully. For the pizzas, we took our server's suggestion and ordered the: Casablanca (5/5) Microdose Mushroom (5/5) The flavors were so complex and well balanced and the pizza crust itself is just the perfect cross between a NY slice and a Neapolitan. Good bite and structurally intact. 100% coming back
google avatar

Agnes W.

Yelp
A nice spot for catching up with friends and have delicious meal! The music in there was not too loud so you can actually have a decent conversation. The inside of this place is just pretty, i have no other words. For food, we got their Dovercourt and Queen 'sweet' Calamari, which came with this delicious pomodoro aioli, Life is Gucci pizza, really love the hot honey on this since it elevates the pizza, and Heroic Dose pasta which I would describe as mushroom heaven with cheesy goodness. Their service was great as well, our waiter was friendly and really helpful with the recommendations. He was honest with what he likes and doesn't like so that they weren't biased. He recommended the Purple Rain cocktail for me since I asked for a sour cocktail, and no complaints from my end.
google avatar

Carmen G.

Yelp
Obsessed with their caesar and pizza here! Not going to lie, I've been to this location twice and both times have been greeted with VERY rude hostess and security staff at Bar Poet - not a great start to your night here! However, the food and drinks do makeup for the front of house staff. I come mainly for the caesar and pizza here. Caesar's rim is delicious along with the drink - a must get! You must also get the pepperoni pizza with hot honey, super delicious with the taste of salty and sweet. Rose pizza is a top close second for me, a great blend of tomato and cream sauce. Don't bother coming here if you want to have an intimate conversation as the place is LOUD! But great for a girls night out or Friday/ weekend night out with some friends. The place is crowded every weekend so make sure to get a reservation early - we're talking weeks in advance here!

Yelp
Bar Poet located along Queen St. W. and Dovercourt serves up bar eats (think pizza, pasta, etc.) and drinks. As soon as you enter their indoor space you notice that they have brought the outdoors inside with light-adorned trees which adds to the overall vibe and ambiance of the space. They also have a chill patio on the side along Dovercourt as well. My friend and I stopped by Bar Poet after work on a weekday to enjoy some drinks. We opted to order a cocktail each. Service was friendly and we never felt pressed to order anything else (we were upfront with the staff and told them we really were there for only drinks). I opted for the pink pisco sour (pink peppercorn pisco, rhubarb liquer, mezcal, spiced blood orange honey, lime, bitters, egg white) while my friend had the purple rain (gin, cassis, limoncello, Lillet Blanc, lemon, Prosecco, and butterfly pea flower). Our drinks were made at a reasonable time. Drinks wise, we both enjoyed our cocktails. They definitely made good cocktails as they not only taste good but also are strong as well. Overall, good place for cocktails and the vibes are nice. Will have to return to try their food though!

Yelp
Food - pizza, always a hit. If you're looking for quality, decent pricing and tasty food, come check out bar poet. Came here for pizza with a couple girlfriends, and it was a hit! Dinner during the week, pair it with a drink of your choice. Request for chili oil to compliment the pizza, mmmmm! Also try the tiramisu to share between two people as a great way to end off the dinner experience. Service - excellent. Thorough. Attentive and able to recommend appropriately based on taste, preference and popularity. Great service! Atmosphere - cute, intimate, bar-like restaurant vibes. Great for a dinner, date. Lights and natural decorations around the restaurant. Parking & Location - Green P parking located in side streets/main streets in front of or around the resto! Overall experience- would definitely recommend and come back!!!!

Yelp
The best bar staff! Me and my friends went for a couple of drinks and had a great time, the atmosphere is perfect and we left knowing we'll be back.

Yelp
Went in for drinks with a friend and stayed for dinner. Cool ambiance, they brought the outdoors in. We had tasty cocktails, great food, and excellent service. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were attentive and friendly, chatting with us and making sure we always had what we needed. I'd definitely recommend and will for sure be back.

Yelp
We live nearby so decided to walk over with our pup and see if we were able to get a spot on their patio- we were in luck! The patio is definitely fun and great for people watching- very dog friendly which is nice. The service was friendly- very casual and laid back. We ordered some wine and salads- as a pescatarian who doesn't eat pasta, bread or enjoy fried foods the menu was extremely limiting but that my fault for not checking before. My partner got the meatballs as well and loved them!

Yelp
The ambiance of this place speaks for itself. Trees with twinkle lights, hanging eucalyptus plants, real candles all around the restaurant, large , arcade games, TV screens (for game night) and the dj playing music truly adds to the experience. The good: Ambiance, Service & Bread & Butter Starter which was super delicious. I could have just enjoyed that as the main with the dipping sauce. All items served were fresh. The Ok: Surprisingly the food, the Microdose Pizza was alright. There was more arugula than any other topping on the pizza which made it good enough to eat but nothing to rave about. Casablanca Pizza was alright. The not so good: the music was very loud which prevented us from being able to speak to each other.

Yelp
They did a great job on the decor inside. Good vibes and a great date spot. Their pizzas are fantastic. Don't forget to get the dipping sauce , I recommend the hot honey and truffle honey. They have a happy hour menu from 2-5pm. $5 shots , $25 pizza and salad, $1oz wine. It gets busy so make sure you make a reservation on Resy

Yelp
This restaurant has been on my go to list for awhile and we found ourselves in the area a few days ago and decided to pop in (we didn't have reservations but we were here around 4:30pmish) and it was pretty empty but it filled up quickly so highly recommend reservations. We sat at the beautiful bar and just chatted with the bartender (wish I remembered his name, he was so nice). We ordered drinks (mine with a pistachio liqueur which the bartender gave us some info about as we had never heard of this before) and gave us recommendations on a pizza to share. I ordered the Tequila Paradox and the pistachio liquor gave it a lovely nutty and creamy flavour without it overpowering the tequila. We got the Casablanca pizza and it was.....deeeee...licious! Roasted chicken with zaatar, chilies and roasted garlic...it was so so so good. We also got a sunflower salad that was light and tangy and all sorts of goodness (happy hour is pizza and salad for $20)! This place is so cute and romantic...fairy lights and lots of greenery inside, but also a lot of fun...games, video games (in the basement) make it a great spot for a date, hanging out with friends or simply grabbing a drink at the bar. There is a small patio to the side...but honestly it's so lovely inside it's probably one of the few times I'd rather sit indoors Definitely will be back!

Yelp
You don't need me to tell you how amazing the vibe is in Bar poet. The pictures speaks for itself. Super cozy bar vibes. Perfect for date night but not first dates as it can get loud. It's hard to get indoor seating on the weekends, so I'd recommend making reservations if you can! The food here is also not bad. Some hits and some misses. I really enjoyed their spicy rigatoni with shrimp. Very basic but executed well. Rosé sauce was quite flavourful and creamy. Pasta cooked to perfection. 4/5 Calamari. Classic, crispy batter and great flavour. 4/5 Pizza. Loved it, good amount of toppings, great crust! Similar to NYC style. 4/5 However, I found the meatballs to be a miss, a bit too dry and lacking in flavour. 2/5 The Arancini balls were nice and creamy. Not sure what it was, but I was personally not a fan of the flavour. 3/5 Service is pretty good considering how busy they were. There is one working arcade machine downstairs next to the washroom so that was fun and a great way to end the night. Overall, love this place. Highly recommend, avoid weekends if you can, probably better to come on a weekday.

Yelp
Cute place for a night out with friends. They have a "patio nights in summer" aesthetic inside the building with a shady tree canopy and lights throughout. There's a great vibe in there as some nights have a live DJ. They have real food here and an extensive cocktail and shots menu. You can't really order off menu here. My friend tried to order a Burt Reynolds shot but was directed back to the menu for what they have. There was one odd interaction with a bartender that got offended by the way that we asked for a drink. Maybe they were just having a bad day but it did make for a less comfortable night as we were seated right at the bar.

Yelp
Coming here the pizzas are a must have! I got robs favourite pizza and it definitely lived up to its name! I enjoy all hot honey drizzled on pizzas. Adding Some chilli flakes on made it even better. The hand cut fries with the smoked aioli sauce was also a hit! And the service was amazing. Even though we had a bit of a long wait but it was on a weekend so it wasn't a surprise. The only thing I missed was how small the patio got and it was very sunny, it def needs more space and shade.

Yelp
Great spot for happy hour! $5 poet lager, $5 shots, $1/oz for wine on tap. The bar poet Pinot Grigio was pretty good! Also grabbed a pizza to share between three friends. We got the hot rod (pepperoni) pizza ($15) and opted for the truffle hot dipping sauce ($2). Overall great spot! The decor was cute too, loved the lights in the trees.

Yelp
My partner and I made last minute reservations on a Sunday night for a spontaneous date night. I couldn't wait to check out this place and the inside! I did read some reviews on Yelp and Google and I don't understand why this place has received some low ratings. The hostess was nothing but polite and informative about the time limit we had at our table. She seated us right under the greenery, and the folks beside us, sharing the long communal table were considerate enough to move their belongings aside and make room for us. Having already checked the menu prior to arriving, we knew what we wanted. Our server was kind and laid back and made us feel welcome. Fortunately, the Raptors game was on and we got a good spot to watch it while enjoying our drinks and food. We ordered the Vegan Hot Rod pizza with gluten free crust, with the hot honey on the side and warm olives. For drinks, I ordered the Sour Poet and my partner ordered the Candy Necklace. The Vegan Hot Rod pizza was delicious. My partner is vegan ( I am not ) and I couldn't even tell it was vegan cheese or pepperoni. Probably the best vegan pizza next to PiCo and Planta. The head chef definitely knows what they're doing and the price doesn't break the bank. The gluten free pizza is the same size as the regular dough which I appreciated as someone who is gluten free and have seen products reduce in size because it's gluten free. Plus it was super crunchy! The warm olives were a bit spicy for my taste and because our host forgot about them, when she was kindly reminded by another staff who had brought our pizza, she brought them right away but they were too hot to eat and enjoy. But my partner liked it so I left it to her to eat them. Our drinks were friggin delicious! Packed with flavour and reasonably priced. A couple weeks ago we went to Mother Cocktail and the drinks were over priced and lacked any depths of flavour. So I'm glad to see a bar like Bar Poet deliver on the drinks! They also have some games downstairs that we both played for a bit, I'm pretty sure it was free credits; brought me back to my childhood! Everything about this place ticked off the boxes. I'm happy to finally have visited and can't wait to go back again! Thanks for a great date night that didn't break the bank and delivered on food, hospitality, flavour and good portions!

Yelp
The first thing you notice when you walk into bar poet is the vibe. We went on a Saturday so it was busy but not in a way where it was overwhelming. Pizza was good but nothing mind blowing. Their portions were pretty large and I only managed to eat a few slices from my pizza.
