Bar Pompette

This is the best cocktail bar I've ever been to, and this is from a bartender. Simple, elegantly moody interior. Every cocktail is worth ordering, which can't be said earnestly for most cocktail bars. After trying a couple of their features, I asked the the bartender for a non-sweet old-fashioned. When I first tasted it, I had to laugh, because it felt like the bartender was a magician who read my mind while also surprising me. They chose a very vanilla-forward bourbon that created a sweet impression without having any sugar. It was simple and clever. I've always felt a good cocktail bar experience should be like a telepathic conversation between guest and bartender - there should be trust and understanding, all of which I tasted in my glass. I will be back.

Sleek and intimate spot for some excellent cocktails. Walk-in only. The Fire Escape from the seasonal menu was my favorite by far, it was so well executed. The seasonal pumpkin drink was quite nice too. Super friendly and attentive staff.

In 2024 Bar Pompette won best bar in Canada. Early 2025 when we arrived it has continued that trend. The atmosphere and vibe were amazing and the staff were kind and helpful. Nick, the bartender when we were there, was a great example of what class, skill, and hospitality should be. This bar is deserving of your time and money.

Definitely one of our favourite cocktail bar. This place nails it with its simple yet elegant interior—a perfect mix of cozy and stylish. Every cocktail we tried was packed with flavor, and they have a beautiful backyard that opens up except winter, creating the perfect chill vibe. We've heard they also host live jazz on some nights, though we haven’t experienced it yet. Whether it’s a date night, catching up with friends, or a relaxed after-work escape, this spot is a must-visit for cocktail lovers. Highly recommended!

Nitro Colada and Fire Escape are the best! They’re not overly sweet or too sour—just perfectly balanced. You can really tell that each cocktail is carefully crafted with great attention to detail. Well crafted! Try them, and you’ll know!

We sat at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the bartender about the drinks. He is clearly a master of his craft! The details like the clarity of the cocktails and the ice add to the unique flavors and make it an all around incredible experience. We also ordered the bread and butter, which was delicious.

If you are looking for a standard run of the mill cocktail, this is not the place for you. But if you want to see what true cocktail artistry is then look no further than Bar Pompette; there is a reason it is ranked so highly. Never in my life did I think I would have a cocktail inspired by birria tacos or by a Hawaiian pizza, and while these concepts might sound like crazy gimmicky concoctions one would find at the Ex or other similar type of place, the true beauty of Bar Pompette is that they are NOT like that at all. The cocktails and beautifully crafted with deep and complex flavors that make you want to sip them little by little so you can explore each and every subtle nuance of each drink. I cannot wait to come back for my next cocktail adventure.
