Wonderful location! Great staff, food, and of course the view. Always a pleasure photographing events there!

Amazing view of New York, minus the throngs of tourists. Yes, i suppose it is a lot cheaper to just pay the ticket to go up one the skyscrapers in the city, but this experience of dining while enjoying the magnificent view is unbeatable. Service was great and so was the food. Would definitely visit again when in New York.

For our wedding anniversary last year, I suggested to my wife to have drinks and light bites at Bar SixtyFive, and thanks to her, she made reservations herself, and coached me what to wear as well. On the day itself, getting to Rockefeller in time, getting in line in a jiffy, and being ushered to the elevator were all a breeze. We asked for a table and upon being seated ordered champagne, then their exquisite salmon platter next. Before the food was served, we went out to the open deck to enjoy the views of Midtown Manhattan with our champagne glasses, and took selfies and photos of each other, the majestic dusk skyline in the background. The food, it turned out, was excellent, all the more enriching our enjoyment of the champagne. It was time well used, money well spent, and an evening to remember for a long time. Until our next big date, that is.

As a native New Yorker, I would recommend coming here for the view and feel of being in an old NY staple sight. Much better than going to the top and waiting in a long line. They take reservations here on opentable so definitely make one if you plan to visit! Crowd: mix of tourists & locals Food: just okay. Price: pricey for the quality Wine: lots of mediocre domestic wines Verdict: come for sunset for drinks and appetizers. Dinner would probably taste better elsewhere. Overall a good experience for its ambience, views and service.

While a bit overpriced, the food was phenomenal. Staff was kind, atmosphere was a little off - but overall a great way to see the view.

There are several rooftop bars in NYC but this one tops them all, pun intended. The view is spectacular. Extensive drink menu and delectable desserts, we'll certainly be heading back here any time we are in NYC.

Made a reservation for 5 persons via email a month before my visit. My emails were responded to very quickly and reservation was seamless! The ambience was a classy and upscale one in the heart of the city. We celebrated a birthday and wanted it to be special, which it was! The chicken meal was delicious. Drinks were strong so did not need to order much! Overall it was a wonderful experience with priceless views of the city and a very accommodating and friendly staff! In my opinion it was well worth the money :)

To say this place was a disappointment would be an understatement...and although I never have given a place 1 star, this time it was earned. Let me start with saying the views are incredible and unbeatable here. It's unlike no other and is worth coming to see. I also know that even the best places have off nights and it happens. The evening started really well at first. The cheese plate is very good and the drinks are well made. But as the place got busier the quality and service went downhill fast! Through the night we saw our waitress less and less. The risotto tasted like a box of salt got dropped in it on the way out here. It was horrible. Which was such a bummer because I LOVE risotto. The waitress quickly just asked what I wanted instead and nothing else. After eating so much salt in a few bites it was hard to want to eat anything else. The chicken was VERY good though and I highly recommend it. After that we didn't see our waitress for about 45 minutes. The host came and we asked for another drink. It was a special occasion and we wanted to order desert but by then we hadn't seen our waitress for so long we thought forget it.... 35 minutes of waiting for the check we just walked up and stood at the bar for our check...let me say we sat down at 5pm and didn't leave until 8:20... The waitress then said she was going to bring us desert but...we will never know...last, best part the elevators didn't work. It stopped at the 45th floor and went no further....when you're at the 65th floor this is not a good feeling. None the less we made it to the bottom after going to a different elevator. A few takeaways, if you're celebrating something special just stop for a drink and move on to a more intimate place. The tables with a good view are on top of each other. It's New York, there are much better suited places to celebrate. Also it doesn't matter which evening you go, it will be busy and the service will be slow. I'm sure it isn't always like this but this was my experience.

Yelp
I booked tickets for the Valentine's Day dinner special a month and a half in advance. When I was filling out the forms, under requests I mentioned that I would like a table by the window if possible. We got there and the whole thing was weird. First, there was an event/concert and the lines where long. The security asked us to check our coats. I was cold and I wanted to keep mine a little longer. He basically forced us and walked us to the coat check counter. The lady behind the counter said " oh no, you have to check the coats. It's standing room only. You won't have space around you for all that" I said, how come if I booked my table in advance and this is supposed to be a dinner. I'm not going to eat standing. She kept arguing her point and we gave up. A nice girl in the main floor guided us to the elevators. We arrived to Bar SixtyFive and the hostess seemed a little lost, couldn't find my name and was kind of mean. Another girl walked us to the table and sat us by the door table. I asked her how come we are not seated by the window because I added that special request when I booked my tickets. She said she wasn't the boss and that she couldn't do anything. Then she said " you can go to that table accross and take pictures of the view there" how dare you that you will go to another table and bother people who also paid their money to eat quietly. We sat there and no one came or even said a word. I was angry and didn't want to seat there. There were other tables by the window empty. Finally, the hostess decided to move us to the table by the window. Everyone and their moms had their coats and their belongings with them. Long story short, the service was terrible. There was a girl checking on all the tables except ours. Thank goodness she wasn't our waiter. We arrived to the place at 6:25 and finally received table/food service at 7:13. Our assigned waiter was nice. He was attentive and cool. I give him 5 Stars. I had this review on Drafts for a long time. Posting now as I got access back to my Yelp account.

Yelp
I can't really leave a review we went to the building to go up to the bar, but we were told by concierge's that after Covid unfortunately they closed down and are not open to the public. I wish that information was more clear on yelp so we wouldn't have gone all the way across town to a bar that was closed. But I did hear they are open for private events.

Yelp
Took girls out for a memorable night on the town. My Dallas crew was floored by service and view of the city

Yelp
Gorgeous view of the city... You can almost enjoy the 360 degree view.. it's a great place to visit specially for tourists. You rather visit this bar and enjoy the gorgeous Manhattan view over a few drinks than spend money on going on top of the rock. They have a good selection of cocktails and appetizers that are well priced and affordable considering this is a very high end bar. Every visit to this place is delightful.. must visit for locals and tourists

Yelp
I totally forgot to leave a review here but here I go! 2 1/2 years later and I still feel the same. You really CAN'T go wrong with a bar on the 65th floor. It's the only one available and the workers are super professional and take care of their guests. It is elegant and the ambiance goes well with the skyline views. The prices are reasonable for the area. I didn't eat any of the food but it sure did look good!

Yelp
I love scoping out bars way up high, where you can get a drink and a great view! It certainly beats waiting in line for an hour plus for an observation deck. My friend and I came and easily spent an hour here, chatting and taking in the beautiful skyline of New York. I'd aim to come around sunset so you can experience New York both during at dusk and when it is dark. Unfortunately, it was drizzling out when we went so the patio was closed. The drinks are OK. I had a champagne cocktail that lost a bit of its carbonation. Not worth $20, but then again the view was worth much more. Make sure to check out the bathrooms!

Yelp
The Quick: The view and the instagram opportunities! The Details: although I Cannot comment on the food, and obviously the drinks are pricey (~$19 each) it's worth visiting at least once to see manhattan lit up. Dress code isn't too strict but men must be wearing a collar (although sneakers / jeans seem to be okay). Pro Tip-- there's an H&M near by if needed. The Damage: $23 for one drink (after tax and tip) but worth it for the view and ambience

Yelp
~views~ I've had some good bar foods and overpriced cocktails the couple times I have been here. Walk-ins are welcomed as long as you don't automatically expect to sit and dine. Just grab something from the bar and snatch a standing table or head outside to the terrace. But just like everyone else had said, the things you really come to Bar SixtyFive for are the beautiful panoramic views of New York City all lit up and the social scene. So ladies, put on something you feel great in and let that wind run through your hair while you sip on an expensive cocktail on the top of the world (rock)!

Yelp
Pricey little spot, but WOW THE CITY VIEWS ARE ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Might be one of the best views you could find, especially around sunset. It's also not too difficult to get a reservation here for a small party. Cocktails are great too, but they are all about $20 each. We didn't eat here, but the food looked tasty. I would recommend this if you have any friends or family visiting from out of the city and want to show them a great nighttime view! Or if you simply want to take a date here to flex :P

Yelp
We had a reservation for 5:00 right when they opened because we had theater tickets. We were seated outside on the patio deck in a small roped off section. A server promptly greeted us and made a little small talk before asking if we would like to hear the cocktail of the day. We do not drink so she said she would give us more time to look everything over. After a few minutes we decided to start with the cheese platter and the tuna poke bowl. It came out very quickly and they were amazing. Then we ordered the steak au poivre. Wow that was Avery thick piece of steak! And cooked perfectly. Unfortunately we did not have time to have dessert but I highly recommended this restaurant. We will definitely be going back!

Yelp
Breathtaking views of NYC. Waited in line to go up to the top of Rockefeller Center but it was worth the half hour wait. Enjoyed two appetizers, a delicious cheese plate with a nice variety of cheeses, nuts, jam and honey and a basket of crackers. Also enjoyed the flatbread with a mound of mushrooms.

Yelp
This review is for drinks and the views only. I came here on a Sunday to grab a martini and watch the sunset and it was perfect. Drinks are pricey but it's worth it to get one and take in the view. The vodka martini was awesome and you definitely get what you paid for! The views are awesome - some of the best in the city hands down. I will warn you though - unless you plan on eating here, you won't actually be able to sit or post up by the windows. There are tables along the windows for diners and then a few standing tables in the middle for those drinking only. Don't worry, there's a little gap in the tables where everyone sneaks in to get that Insta worthy pic so you'll be fine. As far as the attire goes, the dress code says business casual but there were multiple people wearing jeans and dressed very casually. I wore a sleeveless turtleneck sweater, black pants and booties and I fit in just fine. There is someone downstairs that checks out your outfit first so I'm not sure if some are more strict than others with who they let up, but on a late Sunday afternoon/early evening no one made a fuss about anyone's attire.

Yelp
View, views, views!!! Sitting 5 levels below the famous "top of the rock" the view of the city from bar sixty five is not to be missed! You can go up for drinks which is in the defined bar area and standing room only, or you can book a table and dine in style! We chose to eat here and were happy to snag the last reservation only a week before our trip. From the very start you feel like a VIP--you take a private elevator to the 65th floor and when we walked in to the restaurant my jaw literally dropped! The view is a wrap around view of Manhattan and we just so happened to be seated directly next to the Empire State Building (to my delight!) The menu is eclectic and features small plates for sharing and larger plates for individual meals. Since we had already eaten our way around the city earlier that day, we chose to share the BBQ short ribs (phenomenal and easily a meal in themselve) and the signature burger that came with truffle fries. The food was delicious, the views spectacular and the ambience that perfect NYC "cool". I can't wait to return!

Yelp
This bar is on the 65th floor as the Rainbow Room, with the 10′ high ceiling on north, west and south sides. The drinks are fine, nothing is really special. You go there more for the view. On a quiet night with the clear sky, it's very nice.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is nice. The staff is fake but friendly. Ha! The drinks are good nothing life changing. I enjoyed it. Its standing room only with dining tables surrounding. There was supposedly is a dress code...but I saw men in t-shirts which I didn't like. Coat checks on the 2nd floor. Ps. You don't need to rsvp for drinks.

Yelp
My friends were at 30 Rock after the Jimmy Fallon Monologue rehearsal. We met up to go to Bar SixtyFive for dinner and drinks. Bar SixtyFive is right next to the iconic Rainbow Room. We did not have reservations but we were first in the standby line. They open at 5 pm daily. My friends were already upstairs in line and I tried to go upstairs but the security guy wouldn't let me or anyone else up until 5 pm. Then someone came down to see where the line was at 4:45 pm and told the security guy to let us up. He was so busy chatting with the tourists that he wasn't doing his job. We made it upstairs to catch the views and the sunset. Initially, we considered getting drinks but decided to also get food. If you are just there for the bar, they have standing only tables for people getting drinks. If you want to order food, the hostess will seat you at one of the tables. Since we didn't have a reservation, we were sat at a table that wasn't next to the window. We ordered a few items from the food menu: regular burgers, fries, ribeye steak with peas and green beans, sour cherry soup dessert, and clam chowder. I also ordered a coffee because I needed the caffeine from the early morning redeye flight. I also ordered the Brooklyn cocktail with bourbon instead of rye. Initially she brought it without cherries but then brought them out when I inquired. It's made with Luxardo maraschino so it should have cherries, right? I think she thought I ordered the Manhattan or something. Anyway, I got my drinks and I split the steak with my friend. It was the perfect amount of food for us. The steak was cooked to the perfect medium rare. The peas and green beans complimented the dish well. We really enjoyed it. The clam chowder presentation was in the clam shell. It was interesting but a really small portion. Service was fine despite that hiccup with the drinks. The views are great and there is no cover. Drinks are $20 and up but you're also paying for the privilege to be there. If you want to dine out on the balcony, it's $65 per person. I definitely hit that amount without trying too hard so to each their own. You're there for the views and they are SWANKY views. I was only in NY for a quick vacation so it was worth it to me.

Yelp
Very late review from May 2016. Came here around 10pm on a Thursday night and it was more than I expected it to be. It was not crowded inside and my bf and I along with two of our friends were able to order drinks right away. My friend and I tried their black orchid drink (very girly and sophisticated). The drink was sweet but it wasn't too sweet, it was perfect. My bf ordered the manhattan (which was too strong for my tastebuds that's for sure) and our other friend ordered a Long Island iced tea. After ordering our drinks we stepped outside to check out the view. If you have ever been to the top of the rock (my favorite view in NYC), you get the same view but of course from the 65th floor and top of the rock is obviously higher. The view is amazingly beautiful. We were able to see the ESB all lit up but since we were here at night time we were not able to see Central Park. The outside patio is definitely a lot smaller than I expected it to be, but it's worth checking out if you are ever in the area. I plan to come back here and when I do I would like to try their food and enjoy the view. Would I come back? HECK ya! Would I recommend this place? Yes!! Definitely check them out. Their drinks and the view are worth experiencing.

Yelp
You come here for the view, and the view does not disappoint. If you want to eat a meal here, it seems like a reservation is in need. However, there's an open bar area with big windows on 3 sides with excellent views of the city. The drinks averaged $20, with some of them coming in larger glasses than others. My friend and I tried 4 different cocktails, each with its own unique flavor. We stayed in the bar area until closing, which was a little tiring since there were cocktail tables and no seating. All the staff we interacted with was incredibly nice, even when we were the last people at the bar.
google avatar

Silvia G.

Yelp
Cocktails with NYC views! Look at it as a good way to check out the Rainbow Room views without having to pay for the meal. It seems like the bar is divided into 3 sections: 1. the center portion if you just want a drink/ stand at the cocktail tables 2. the middle portion where you can get a table for drinks and food (you can reserve on Opentable) 3. the outdoor tables where there's a $65pp minimum but faces the Hudson river I did #2 and was perfect. I had a table and was able to order a few appetizers but was also able to go out for photos. The outdoors is a small patio and it's timed. You have to line up and you get limited time outside. You also get a nice close up view of the buildings around. Great for photo opps especially during sunset! As for the menu, we tried: *Cones with smoked salmon: this was ok. The cones were a little too pale and the salmon had a white cream mixed in. I would have preferred to have it without it *Cocktails are $20 and they were ok. I was expecting to have one with fresh herbs and couldn't find any. My purple drink with silver dust was kinda cute for the insta but that's it. Make sure guys are not wearing a T-shirt. They won't let you up. Polos are ok. They can also charge your phone at the hostess so just ask! Not a place I'd return but nice to enjoy the views.

Yelp
New York City has endless cocktail bars and lounges, but Bar SixtyFive is a classic. As as the name suggests, is on the 65th floor of the Rockefeller Centre, and displays a gorgeous view of the city - rain or shine. The crowd is a mix of NY natives, tourists and crowds celebrating something special. (During my visit, there was a couple in their wedding attire, having their wedding dinner!) We made our reservation (for two) a week ahead, for 9:30 on a Friday. Our table was just being set up, so we hung around the bar. The cocktail menu was diverse, with some seasonal creations - I highly recommend stepping out of your comfort zone and ordering a cocktail. The dinner menu wasn't huge but held a nice variety. We ordered two apps and a main and shared - which was perfect for two moderately hungry people. The service through out the night was pleasant, and not at all pushy. I was hoping for a clear night to see the views from the top, but the incoming fog and rain made for a unique, mystical ambience over the city. Overall - a wonderful evening I can't wait to repeat.
google avatar

Allen T.

Yelp
I came here for a work happy hour. Unfortunately it was raining and we stayed indoors the whole time, so wasn't able to enjoy the view. Drinks prices are pretty steep (the same if not higher than my $18-$20 price threshold). I had higher expectations on the view given how high up we were, but the weather ruined it. Definitely more of an adulty/affluent clientele here.

Yelp
Views, views, views. What this bar lacks in personality it makes up for with its amazing views of lower Manhattan. If you're not set on going to the very top of the building (Top of the Rock) this is a great alternative to take in the views, just a few floors down, and enjoy a drink or meal. I came here with a friend for a champagne pop up event within the bar. They had a special champagne themed drink and food menu. When you arrive at the building you need to take an escalator up a floor to the host. We were asked to check our coats here. Next you head to the elevators. There are separate elevators for the Top of the Rock and Bar 65. When we arrived at the 65th floor we were greeted by another host who showed us to our table. Service was good and very professional. I found everyone to be so professional that they lacked any real personality. The bar itself is clean and modern and has a very sterile feel to it. We ordered a few small plates to share. The cheese board was by far the best value for the money and was loaded with cheese, grapes, jam, candies nuts and crackers. Worst thing we ordered was the puffed pork which was just pork rinds. Make sure you walk over to the outdoor patio and take in the incredible views.
google avatar

Benjamin K.

Yelp
Well worth the four stars, close to five honestly! Get a reservation to secure a table near the windows... step out of the elevator on the 65th floor, and embrace the fantastic view. Try the cocktails, the cured meat platter as well as the salmon platter, they are actually pretty good and the mark-up for the location is (almost) reasonable! Someone could expect snobby staff ... actually everyone was super nice! Yes, it can be crowded - what would you expect?. Yes you can complain that the outdoors section is a small patio without access to the North side, and it's timed, so you have to line up and you get limited time outside. But it also means that once indoors you still enjoy the fantastic view and do not have a ton of people alongside the windows, so take a deep breath, and remember it's one of the best spots in New York if you're looking for an upscale bar feel and, most importantly, views.

Yelp
Left me speechless. Great food. Amazing balcony. Incredible experience. Thank you for a beautiful evening.

Yelp
Always such an awesome experience! I decided to re-visit Bar SixtyFive for a date night on a Tuesday evening. I've come here before but I never had the opportunity to write a review. Bar SixtyFive sits atop of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. I always suggest this spot to my friends who are visiting NYC. You get to see the always spectacular view and instead of waiting in line with tourists, you're able to redeem the cost of what would be your observatory ticket for an AMAZING drink. I called earlier in the week to make a reservation and requested a table next to the southern facing window. When I arrived they promptly seated us at a table smack dab right in front of the view! So happy they were able to accommodate my request and by the looks of the other reviews, it seems they're able to do this if you just give them a heads up when you make your reservation. When it came time to order I ended up sticking with their take on a classic Manhattan. Well made and paired perfectly with a sweet vermouth, I was not left disappointed. Just as a side note, the drinks did cost on average $20 each. So just know that you're getting what you pay for with the quality of these drinks. Again, I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking to take in the view without having to go through the hassle of going to the observatory. Make sure to look at their website for the proper dress attire, but besides that if you're planning on going here just know you're in for a phenomenal experience.

Yelp
5/5 star views but 3/5 for presentation. I had to make a reservation a month in advance so I was really excited to make it up here. With a $60 min and a "cocktail chic" dress code I was ready to be wow'd. Then I got up there. View are exactly that..WOW. However, you only get 15 minutes outside on the deck at a time. Oh and you have to wait in line after you get a ticket to get outside. And its a really prompt 15 minutes. I am not quite sure how those who got actual outdoor seating did it, but they must have known someone who knew someone. However, even outdoor seating only looks out on the river; no views of lower Manhattan or central park which are really the highlights here. If I pay so much for a bar I don't want to have to wait my turn to get outside for just 15 minutes. Drinks were pretty good but of course, pretty expensive. We got the fries as a snack and they were good but a bit mushy. All the food around us looked decent but wasn't worth the money. Great place to have some great photos and a fancy drink but not to stay for a full meal.
google avatar

Farah K.

Yelp
It's the highest outdoor terrace bar in NYC. One can come here instead of going to the Top of the Rock. Only catch is that you don't get to have a 360 view unlike Top of the Rock. Drinks are a bit expensive but what can you expect! Didn't have food as I went for drinks only. Overall, a nice place. Will return.
google avatar

Jenny P.

Yelp
Where do I begin..? I've had this place bookmarked for awhile and I finally got a reservation a week ago. Everything from the moment you enter the elevators, to the view, the service, and the food was all magical. The 360 degree view of Manhattan cannot get better than here. I loved the view of the Central Park to the north and the Empire State Building, and the One World Tower in the distance to the south. I ordered their $65 Rockefeller Burger -- it was very very good. Was the burger itself worth $65? Probably not, but with the view and everything, it was totally worth the splurge. If I do go back though, I will probably order other things on the menu -- although the truffle fries were to die for! Highly recommend getting here in the evening before the sunset. I came here at 7:15 and enjoyed the pre-sunset and post-sunset views... SO AMAZING!
google avatar

Corinna T.

Yelp
Amazing! Skip the top of the rock,it's crowd, and the fee. Come here for just as amazing views and a drink. Drinks are pricy, starting at, I want to say $18, but again, worth it for the view. Attire wasn't too dressy, but you don't want to look like a bum either. I didn't try the food, so I can't say anything about that. The ladies room is REALLY nice and there are vanities to touch up, and outlets to charge your phone or plug in your hair appliances. There was even a worker inside who kept things in order. Tip: Come during sunset to see both sunset and then the city lights!
google avatar

Jackson K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and staff- dress to impress scene with a positive vibe- i went with my co workers and had a great time, a place for drinks and lounge - can't eat at the bar, you have to secure a standing table in the middle or sit to eat: mind you there are only 5 standing tables in the middle - food is decent 3/5 I tried the small bites sliders below. P.s. there is no BBQ sauce there, if you me and love BBQ sauce

Yelp
2 stars for the food, 4 stars for the view, so that averages out to an average of 3 stars. I would recommend Bar Sixtyfive if you're looking for a good cocktail after work or meeting with some friends. I would NOT recommend it for the food. We were extremely disappointed with our meals, you would think for being such a well known spot and how hard it is to get reservations that the food quality would be better? Nope. We made a reservation online and were hoping to get a seat outside with a great view. There's a $60 minimum or so to get a table, but we weren't even asked by the hosts? My big pet peeve is also when they bring you to a crappy location in the restaurant when there are a BUNCH of other open spots that are significantly better. Husband said the burger wasn't good, even the people around us ordered it and everyone was complaining how oily it was and falling apart. We also got the beer fondue (very meh) with pretzels, not as cheesy as I would have liked it to be, it was pretty bland. I got the lobster corn dogs which again were okay, better than the burger and fondue at least. Would not eat here again, there is WAY better food in Manhattan. But I may swing by for a drink every now and then. It was pretty standard cocktail price for manhattan of $20 per drink.
google avatar

Peggy W.

Yelp
Good vibes, good views, good drinks! Anyone whose every come here will tell you that it's one of the best views of the city. Why would you pay $34 for a ticket to the Top of the Rock observatory when you can get $34 worth of alcohol and food and the same exact view without the crowd? You will get a beautiful view of the city, and the cocktails here on point. While they're pretty expensive, they're only a few bucks more than any other cocktail in the city, and you're also paying for the view. The overall ambiance is very upscale and the service is great! Be sure to make a reservation in advance! There's a $65 per person minimum spend if you want to eat at a (reserved) table on the terrace. Dress code is strictly enforced (no ripped jeans, etc.) Jacket not required for guys. Perfect for any New Yorker, but especially perfect for those visiting.

Yelp
Exquisite! Beyond all my expectations! As those before me mention - this is by far the best way to see the views of the Rockefeller. My husband and I came here for our anniversary - for the start of a great night planned - we tossed up brunch or drinks and I am so glad we chose drinks ....... I cannot get the big Apple cocktail I ordered out of my mind...... it was perfect! Add to this the views, we planned to be here for sunset and it was magical the golden colour of the sky and then the city lights after - beautiful. The food also...... sliders, fries, crab cakes...... I WANNA GO BACK . We also were so impressed with the ambiance, the Art Deco design, music and to top it off a song from my favourite movie that I have never heard anywhere was played ....... it was truly a very magical and memorable night that will be difficult for any place that comes after to match. Oh and the bathrooms..... I didn't want to leave. Thank you Bar Sixty Five - you will be forever in my heart

Yelp
The trick to Bar SixtyFive is not comparing the cost of your drinks to the cost of comparable drinks. My "Three Little Pigs," with mezcal, sherry, fig jam, and a bunch of other premium additions, was indeed expertly made, with reasonable speed despite the crowds. It was tasty, though not incredible. But was it $20 pre-tip tasty, given that even New York's priciest bars run you $16ish? Well, one adult pass to The Top of the Rock runs, according to my attempt to book one a moment ago, $37. Rainbow Room and Bar SixtyFive are on the 65th floor, rather than the 70th, and includes a wrap around patio. There's no waiting in lines of tourists, even when dropping in with a big group, so I would count the experiences around even. So really, your drink is -$17. Despite my rational comparison, I remain an irrational creature, and I doubt I will be back for $20 cocktails. It's fun for a New York City experience, though.

Yelp
Like most other reviewers, my partner and I made a reservation at Bar SixtyFive to avoid paying admission fees to the Top of the Rock. Even though we ended up spending more than the $34 we would have spent on the elevator ride, it was well worth it. The cocktails are fabulous and you NEED to try the Choco-Feller dessert. I started with the Silver Slipper cocktail which was essentially an aviation made with vodka rather than gin. I followed it up with the more bubbly Champagne Cocktail. Both of these drinks were delicious sippers, perfect for enjoying the panoramic view. The highlight though was definitely the Flaming "Choco-Feller" Alaska that we had for dessert. The Choco-Feller is essentially a ball of ice cream covered in chocolate cake and coated with marshmallow. When the server brought it to our table, he poured some kind of alcohol over it and lit it on fire which toasted the marshmallows. Amaaaazing! Absolutely worth the $15 price tag. I only had one issue with the bar. One of my pet peeves is places that try to maintain a faux-exclusivity. Both their website and signage in the building suggest a more formal dress code. However when we got upstairs we found that many of the patrons were wearing jeans and t-shirts. I also found that you didn't actually get a better view by reserving a table: those standing were able to get a much clearer view. I'd still recommend reserving a table to guarantee you get in, but definitely make sure you take some time to walk around and enjoy the view!

Yelp
I seen this place on yelp when searching for roof top bars . This is definitely a more upscale bar, I actually felt really out of place here . The clientele was mostly older wealthy looking people. But it was a very nice classy place. I don't know if there's an outdoor part but if there is, all that was accessible that night was the inside bar. There is a really nice view of the city though ! The inside has high tables to stand at as well as some regular tables which I'm sure are reserved. Staff especially bartenders were very friendly . Drinks were expensive but strong. I would recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a nice spot in NYC !

Yelp
This is a great bar to enjoy breathtaking views of the entire city while enjoying delicious drinks and food. There is a line that could have you waiting for quite a long time, so it is highly encouraged that you make reservations ahead of time so you may enjoy the views of the city as opposed to the views of someone's back of their head. There is a place for you to check your coats and your bags (shopping bags, etc.) before entering the bar since they don't allow bags in their bar area. But if you find yourself traveling to NYC, this is a place that you should definitely experience!

Yelp
A five-star view of New York City complete with fantastic cocktails! Don't waste your time & money going to the Top of the Rock when you can come here and have unobstructed views of the city and enjoy some cocktails while you're at it. In addition to drinks, we also ordered several appetizers which were all very good as well. I'm a sucker for beautiful decor and the inside of the bar did not disappoint. The only thing I found odd was that the restroom was located on the second floor & was only accessible via a flight of stairs. Not the most ideal thing to climb a flight of stairs after you've had several drinks but you can't win them all I suppose. Although there is a standby line, I recommend making a reservation as we did not wait to go up and the standby line was growing by the minute. Also, pay attention to the dress code online. I saw a man turned away due to his attire (I believe he wasn't wearing a collared shirt). Maybe it was the company or the numerous cocktails but I've been to New York City more times than I can count and this was by far one of the best places I've been to in all my trips there.

Yelp
We actually had a really nice time here during out visit in Sep 2019. I think everyone who goes to a rooftop restaurant, in Manhattan, in Rockefeller Plaza should have expectations that it will be touristy and at least a little pricey. We accepted that would be the case before we decided to make it a part of our trip. Going in with those expectations, we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. We made reservations on OpenTable for a Monday night and it was very straightforward with no obvious spending minimums to be there. Once we found our way to actually get to the restaurant, the view was incredible offering iconic NYC structures in all directions. It created a picturesque backdrop for our final evening in the city. We had a couple cocktails and a couple moderately prices plates that put our tab just under $200. Yes, pricey, but not completely unreasonable if you're in the market for a somewhat moderate splurge, like we were. There were also much pricier options if you were feeling spendier. We shared the charcuterie board and hamburger and can say that we had more food than we needed. The portions on these items were generous and the flavors were delicious. The board was very meaty and we were surprised it did not also include a cheese or two but it was still a great choice. The staff was very friendly throughout our experience too but we didn't really test them too much in terms of recommendations or pairings or anything like that. So while we went into Bar SixtyFive expecting to feel a bit ripped off just to take in the nice city view, it actually made for a lovely evening all around. I don't suspect it's the greatest meal you can find in NYC. Or the cheapest. But the combination of pretty good food, drink, and amazing atmosphere made it an experience worth doing.

Yelp
This place is way overpriced for no reason. Don't get me wrong the views are amazing but that's about it. The food and drinks were underwhelming in all honesty. I got the new strip steak which I asked for medium rare and was pretty tough. We also ordered the crab appetizer which was literally a spoonful of crabmeat for $24 which was highway robbery. My husband and I went here for our anniversary which my husband mentioned when he made the reservation and it was not even acknowledged. The service was just ok nothing outstanding or above and beyond. Honestly there are so many other AMAZING places to try in New York that going here would just be a wasted opportunity. If you want a genuinely amazing meal with the upscale vibe and stellar customer service go to Delfriscos or Celestine way better options and spectacular service.

Yelp
The whole ambience of this place is great- from the elevator ride all the way up to the AMAZING view of the city. The cocktails are beautiful but it was only ok. Also the ladies room is so luxurious but you have to take a stairs to get up there. I'll come back to check out the restaurant.

Yelp
What happened to this fabulous cocktail bar ? It used to be nice to go there for drinks and enjoy an outdoor space, now they ask you : - get a ticket to access the rooftop - to wait in line for 20 minutes before going out - to stay out for 20 minutes only - to share a tiny space with 40 other clients You only have access to the southern part as they blocked the rest of the rooftop with plants. Me and my friends felt like battery caged animals. I used to take my friends visiting New York from France and Italy for drinks and nibbles. It is so not worth it anymore.

Yelp
Bar Sixty Five was exactly as I imagined. As a Southern Californian, we don't get much rain, nor very cold temps for that matter. Arriving at the Rainbow Room/Rockefeller, I was nervous that my blue jeans, tennis shoes, cute sweater, and warm jacket wouldn't cut it. Luckily, I was fine. I had made my reservation for 8:30 on a Friday night for just myself. I wanted to sit and enjoy dinner. It was made about a week prior to my travel plans. Most were dressed nicer. I didn't get how the females wore skirts, dresses, and heels in 40 degrees and rain, but more power to you gals. I chose comfort! I had a Malbec which was smooth and strong. I had the crispy oysters rockefeller and crab toast to eat. Both were temperature perfect, presented nicely, and filling. The prices are fair due to the ambience, views, and service. Despite the rain, it was still gorgeous to be high up and enjoy the special treatment it offers. I will easily return. Romantic for married or partnered couples, spoiling for solos wanting something nice, a great GNO or boy time and great for small events.

Yelp
Enjoyed our visit very much. Good food and drinks and the view is breath taking! I really like how they set up the room! Tables and booths around the room, and tall cocktail tables in the middle. One of the best flat breads I've ever had. The Clash of Titans burger will blow you away! And Did I forget to mention the view is breath taking? Right before we left, they gave us a private tour of the iconic rainbow room! I'd definitely go back again and again!

Yelp
Loved the views and vibe on this 65th floor bar! A very unique experience when in Manhattan, and worth the (obviously) high prices! Would go back anytime to drink more champagne cocktails and to look out over the skyline. Congrats to the newlyweds!

Yelp
This bar was referred to us from a friend and I'm happy we got to oooo to come out and try it. The drinks were Very pricey and the dress code is a little fancier than your normal jeans and T-shirt attire. The bar area is standing only, unless you have a reservation to sit down. My hubs and I got 3 drinks total and it was about $80 so I can only imagine the food being even more pricey. To make for a better experience I would say to make a reservation so you can actually sit and enjoy yourself. The staff was friendly and the place is very clean. Definitely a fun spot to visit in NY.

Yelp
As a native New Yorker, I would recommend coming here for the view and feel of being in an old NY staple sight. Much better than going to the top and waiting in a long line. They take reservations here on opentable so definitely make one if you plan to visit! Crowd: mix of tourists & locals Food: just okay. Price: pricey for the quality Wine: lots of mediocre domestic wines Verdict: come for sunset for drinks and appetizers. Dinner would probably taste better elsewhere. Overall a good experience for its ambience, views and service.

Yelp
This place was so on target! Honestly I'm all about ambiance or I won't care about the place at all. I want to feel good where I go. And this place is stunning, beautiful, great views, great lighting, and perfect music. I can see people meet each other here, lots of socializing going on. Food- I recommend the aphrodisiacs-- fried oysters. Men, they really work ;) Looking forward to returning and having a great fun time again!
